Toyota Prius timing chain replacement ( 2AZ engine)

How ro replace timing chain Toyota Prius engine. Years 2010 to 2015. Also VVT-i engine.

The exhaust sprocket, the gear closest to the wind shield will have a spray paint blue mark upon the gear tooth used for setting the timing chain

Aren't you worried about cranking the valves into a piston when you do that?

If it spins just as it did in this video its not touching the piston, thats just the compression. But of course be careful when you’re spining the sprockets, if you feel resistance, stop immediately and check the timing, you never want to force, it should spin nice and freely

your marks didnt line up you cut the video! and then you put the chain on the bottom mark probably after so long ! bad video over all!
