While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
From visionary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, Knock at the Cabin stars Dave Bautista (Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old), newcomer Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn (Little Women, Landline) and Rupert Grint (Servant, Harry Potter franchise).
Universal Pictures presents a Blinding Edge Pictures production, in association with FilmNation Features and Wishmore Entertainment, an M. Night Shyamalan film. The screenplay is by M. Night Shyamalan and Steve Desmond & Michael Sherman based on the national bestseller The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. The film is directed by M. Night Shyamalan and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Marc Bienstock (Split, Glass) and Ashwin Rajan (Servant, Glass). The executive producers are Steven Schneider, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos and Ashley Fox.

Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read the book - it does look very faithful, except that Redmond isn't the one with the mask on first, its one of the women. So that's going to change how the characters move forward drastically.

Okay, I really loved the book, and when I heard that it was being adapted into a film I was really skeptical, but I have to admit that this looks pretty good! The characters don’t look how I imagined them, but honestly that’s not something that matters to me. I just hope that they stay true to the beautifully-grim plot of that novel by Paul tremblay!

I'm intrigued by Dave Bautista his voice sounds really chilling in this and I'm intrigued just by this trailer so I might actually check this one out. I'm just waiting for the shyamalan twist and wondering if the other characters are going to have weird offhand dialogue like in most shyamalan movies. Still the trailer looks promising.

@noisycat There's really no point in responding to scripture spammers. They quote fairly random excerpts from the old, or new, testament, depending on their mood or target. They're not going to engage in honest discourse concerning the origin of their beliefs or flaws in their personal interpretation. They're programmed, just as any machine is programmed. Even many devout people of faith would know a mindless parrot when they encounter someone like that.

I really do love M. Night movies.
Even if they’re terribly and super cringe at times, I feel like he’s one of those rare directors (like a Nolan) that simply gets to make whatever movie he wants to make and it’s gets a mainstream platform theatrical release.
The man, for better or worse, has never comprised on his choices for the last 20 years of filmmaking. Not an endorsement of his bad films (we can all agree he’s made some horrible Dreck) but I can’t help but be excited when he puts a new movie out that is specifically his style.

@Concerned Citizen 😂 the twists are just executed so poorly that it makes them seem bad… BUT it’s not that the twists are bad, it’s the way his movies reveal the twist and then don’t give it any further dialogue or back story for it.
It’s just like “Water kills Aliens!” “We have glasses of water!” “Family hugs” … and magically the rest of the world changes immediately and automatically once the ‘hero’ discovers the twist.

Shyamalan always has interesting concepts but often fumbles the delivery. I wonder if this one will be a hit since it's based on a book. But he does get you thinking and always has a 'twist,' whether it hits or not.

@Wisco9er dude he was awesome in that series. By far my favorite part is when Cena goes off on a rant listing every single fictional and non fictional person he could think of when it came to pinning a crime on someone other than his dad.
      And it was completely improvised.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm gonna be honest though- John Cena as Peacemaker was the best and funniest role I have ever seen. It was so good. I haven't seen the TV show Peacemaker but I heard it was fantastic as well.

Let's be honest, this is Shyamalan we're talking about, there really are 2 choices.
It is either going to be great, like Split, and we're going to have a great time,
Or it will be terrible like the Happening, and we're going to have a great time.

The book this is based on is incredibly solid, and actually could use a better ending, so this could be a return to form for M Night.

Look at David branching out and showing some serious range! He's definitely not another Rock Johnson. He is a different animal. Just the performance with that little girl alone was absolutely chilling. Jesus H. I will be watching this.

i love trailers like this that catches your attention by the mood of the music, how the music switches into something ominous, uses sounds as beats with physical action and doesn't show you much of what the movie may be about. especially since this is from M Night Shyamalan i cant wait it to see the twist and turns. and since there's 2 other screenwriters it might be better since he has his own unique way to end his films, this might be different and actually good.

As someone who has read the book, I always wondered who will play Leonard. To me, he is the most interesting character. Crazy, but also loving. Never would have thought of Bautista to be playing Leonard, but oh man, his casting is spot on.
Big, hulking dude who has very much a psychopath storyline but also has a loving heart. This is gonna be a good portrayal.

@Emil Fish yeah I'd prefer to read the book and go with my own imagination 😂❤ same thing happened to me with The Glass Castle , I read the book and the movie was disappointing lol the books are always better than the movies !! Although I will say the Coraline movie was great!!!❤💯

@Alma Reyes it's pretty much the same premise. But trust me, this trailer doesn't really give a sense of how unusual and chilling the book was. Cabin at the end of the world (the novels original name) is absolutely fantastic

Predictions for the M. Night Shyamalan twist in this film:
    1) All the people we see in the trailer are unknowingly part of an experiment/simulation
    2) The intruders are right about the apocalypse being real and the family’s choice causes the end
    3) The intruders are being manipulated or controlled by an outside party to kill targets in a ritualistic manner
