Just got mine today & everything about it fit & finish wise was 100% perfect, from centering to edge grind. Just working on the action now. For me, I'm happy I don't have to decide between this & the 535BK-4, because my preorder for the latter is already paid. 😃
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I love any tips you can give me
@Theodore Bowie Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Lanyard fans rejoicing!! Great knife. Love the blue and carbon fiber is fantastic!! S90v can’t go wrong. Looking forward to other Benchmade knives coming out this year! Thanks for sharing Zach
I just got one yesterday kinda afraid of using it as much as, I hear so much bad stuff about the omega springs I’m normally a microtech guy. Have you had this happen to you with a bugout idk I should return it and get another microtech any advice?
Use away on this Bugout Viper! I have carried a Benchmade for over 20 years and have not broken any springs. I have heard of a few people out of thousands who have broken a spring, but it usually comes down to how the lock bar is pulled back. Favoring one side or only using one side puts much more tension and can also cause it to rub on the inside of the scales. Normal use is just fine and if you want a "back up plan" you can purchase a set of USA made omega springs off of Etsy for about $6. I have some and still haven't broke a spring. You should be good to go!
I love seeing the new variations. Pretty sweet. My dream bugout is black coated m4 or tumbled 3v, carbon fiber scales, and all black hardware. Blue isn't for me but I think it's cool.
I’m a bug out fan. This is the best so far. Haven’t needed to sharpen it yet. Kinda stiff, can’t turn the pivot screw enough. The handle has a grip on the blade. It is wearing in over time. If I had a choice the blade would be coated to drop the ‘shine’.
Just got mine about 2 weeks ago. The plan was for this to be my only "nice" knife. That's why I splurged and got the top of the line bugout. I'm a little disappointed with the centering and action. I live in the same town as benchmade so hopefully they can improve those gripes when I take it in for sharpening down the road
For me the 535BK-4 is my choice! I really like the aluminum scales and the milling. I think I will be switching to blue accents, however the carbon fiber on the -3 is a little too smooth. Gets slick every once in a while.
I've got the same knife I also got a hand made custom sheath from this guy he is out of Poland and his work is amazing all you do is contact him 1st and tell him how you want your sheath made. Color of leather color of thread and how you want the angle of your knife to sit on your belt. Also right or left hand draw. It takes about a month and a half to get your sheath but the wait is well worth it I have never seen a better sheath in my life plus it is custom made to your specs. You tube won't let me put his address on this but if you go to ebay and look for title ( Leather sheath for Benchmade Griptilian or mini Griptilian ) this will get you to him he makes sheath for both size bug outs and he also makes them for Spyderco's too
Very nice Peter! I understand the idea behind it as the dash one was already used, but it would have been nice to see it match the others! Enjoy this one!
If I were CF and I stood next to that CF, I’d feel even more insecure than I do now. Kind of like Jonah Hill standing next to Brad Pitt. So to answer your question, that CF is handsome. 😆
I have had some for over a decade and they are holding up good. No marks unless you drop them on concrete, like anything else. A strong scale material.
That was worth saying at the end of your video. DO somethig kind for a stranger. Needs to be heard by more people. Make our world " a bettter place" (as cheesy as that sound). Bugouts. Lot of guys buy the base model to modify. I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather save up and buy a -3 or -4. As I have no idea if I would be modifying one all future knives I guy , 1 or none. Plus it's not worth it. Value wise. New ti scales run $84 and up. Might as well save up a little more and buy the -4. Benchmade should offer another variant with Alu scales but a "cheaper" blade steel...they did this for the 940 line-up...
i've owned two bugouts. the first would not center. then i bought the CF model and the grinds were so bad it would not cut printer paper. no more benchmade for me
I just dont see the point. it's not enough upgrade for 120 dollars more over the plain blade blue version. sure s90v but so many knives coming in more premium steels for less money. just got a delica 4 in k390 for well less than 200. benchmade has to price more competitively in my opinion. this price puts you in the realm of a bark river fixed blade with a huge chunk of 3v and semi custom fitting. carbon fiber and some accents just aren't competitive with that sort of quality.

Can’t wait for this. I already have a set of blue titanium screws and a blue titanium deep carry clip, just for this knife!

@Theodore Bowie it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
For once I rejoice together with the lanyard fans, love the blue backspacer and thumbstuds! Must have 😍👍!
YES we can celebrate in with the lanyard fans!!! The color pop is on point! Thanks Didier!!
Love this knife. Mine is on the way and I can’t wait to get it
Lanyard fans rejoicing!! Great knife. Love the blue and carbon fiber is fantastic!! S90v can’t go wrong. Looking forward to other Benchmade knives coming out this year! Thanks for sharing Zach
So glad to have the carbon fiber without the $750 gold class! And love the s90 steel. Should pair great with the 940-1
Thanks for the video..
It become my wishlist..
Most welcome 😊

Yo Zach, I’m in LOVE with both, my 535-3 & my 535bk-4!! I love them both for different reasons!!
Do you think it’s worth it? Or would it be better to make one on their website with M4 steel and G10 scales $255
smokey mountains knife works still have m4 g10 Exclusive available, I grabbed one a month ago, $208 in stock
Bought one for myself. Liked it so much I bought one for my buddy. A near perfect EDC. Also it looks pretty damn nice.
I love seeing the new variations. Pretty sweet. My dream bugout is black coated m4 or tumbled 3v, carbon fiber scales, and all black hardware. Blue isn't for me but I think it's cool.

Yeah make sure they fix it for you. It is a great knife to have, but needs to be corrected.
Maybe it’s just my perspective but is the 535-3 length (knife and handle) shorter than the Bugout you used to compare it to? Thanks for the overview.
thats a sweet blade congrats zach
Thanks Zeni! It's a sweet upgrade for the Bugout!
Which do you prefer the 535-4 or 535-3? And why?
For me the 535BK-4 is my choice! I really like the aluminum scales and the milling. I think I will be switching to blue accents, however the carbon fiber on the -3 is a little too smooth. Gets slick every once in a while.
S90v and carbon fiber great combo the cut out for the back spacer I'm not feeling it call me crazy idk 🤣 🤔
I already own 4.... what’s one more? I dig the back spacer and S90v!
Hey Zach, the aluminum scale one has a release date of June 1, 2021?
Projection date so far. Hoping we see it decrease sooner than later!
Is the CF slick or smooth or a matte finish? Does it have a slight texture....similar to the ZT 045cf
More smooth than textured. When comparing to the ZT. Hopefully it helps??!!
That’s freakin sick!!!!!!! I got to have it to go with my S90v mini freek!!
A sweet choice!!! Have a great week!
Just picked one up!
best knife ever made
My FP should be coming soon. Stoked!
Right on!!! Enjoy that one!!!
They did a great job on that knife!!
I agree! Thanks CK!
How is the deployment? Smoother than the original Bugout?
Deployment is much more solid as the scales add to the strength of the overall knife. Indeed smooth.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW what a knife!
A fun new knife Mark!!! Digging the overall look!
Zach, could the pocket clip been blue maybe or would that have been much?
Oh yeah that would look fantastic!!
Quick question, Is it ready-to-go?
I dig it Zachman! It's like they made it for you (and me)...
Yes I did say it was ready-to-go a few extra times with this one!! It's ready for both of us!! Thanks Jackman!
@@zachstuff haha😂 You rock
I really like this, but I REALLY like the mini adamas. It fits more roles for me.
Will aftermarket scales still fit this one?
Some will, you just have to check with the manufacturer as some spacers don't line up the same.
I wish, they would go ahead and blue the liners and hardware if they're going to do the backspacer and and thumbstuds
Those updates would make this knife amazing!! Thanks KJ!
That's a really cool variant
I like how they did this one and the carbon fiber scales feel great. Thanks Ian!

Omg, thats very nice knife!
The Bugout is going next level now! Thanks Dane!
I like it. I just got mine.
Almost bought but went with the supa freek for now
Is this Zach that used to be on blade hq? Voice sounds so familiar
Great looking knife overall!!! Blue accents work so well with the CF!!! Thanks Zach!!
They pop nicely!!! Thanks Big Red!!
Pretty much the ultimate refinement of the model, but it still has that 240 grit factory edge😬.
Only a 240 grit edge....I will have to test mine out and share! Thanks John I like how this one turned out!
@@zachstuff I might be talking out my butt here but my experience is that many BM factory edges both new and back from Spa service are quite rough.
Luv it bought it !
this should be named 535-1 just like all the other s90v/CF variants ... cant wait to get this ! preordered on bladehq =]
Very nice Peter! I understand the idea behind it as the dash one was already used, but it would have been nice to see it match the others! Enjoy this one!
The first variant was the 535-1 GRY so it was already taken. Thats a good point though
I just traded for this one im so Stoked..
Right on Don! It is one of the best ones yet!
That’s one more bugout on my list.
Another one ready for your collection!

Wonderful comparison!!! Thanks Winchester!
Looks dope!
Does anyone know how carbon fiber scales ware ovee time?

Good to know... I've been babying my carbon fiber bugout 535-3... Now I'm going to make it my work knife
I'm waiting for the bugout XL
Zach, but is it 255.00 worth of CF and S90 V?
Matches up with the custom shop in G-10 prices. Hope the carbonfiber makes the custom shop!!
