Good vintage footage! The kind of stuff I try to upload myself! One doesn't see a lot of stuff like this these days-diamond crossings and the like-at least not here in the mid-Atlantic.
@gonetoworkbbackin5mi Thanks for the compement! My wife, son , and I where invited up in the tower by the opperator. Real nice guy. He said that they had slide shows in the tower on Tuesday evening, and we where still in the area, that we had an invitation. Now I wish we had stuck around. Thanks for watching...
The changes are these. The G-Head signals on IC and the CPL's on CSX are gone. The CSX actually crossed onto UP, not the other way around. ;) This occured because IC wanted rid of the tower and also did not want to maintain a diamond used by a railroad seeing two trains per day, so they razed the tower, merged CSX onto UP and installed new bridges and signals. Only remaining evidence of the old setup is a lone bridge support from the old CSX bridge. I lived in Tuscola 14 years, much has changed.
Awesome RS3L on the Union Pacific
The CN is still double track through Tuscola, there is a siding that extends about 7900' north of the diamond and 15000' south of the diamond.
