i mean, so much time has happened from when he wrote this song, i'm sure he already went over that. And when he sings old songs like this he also says that it's been so much time he doesn't really remember what the song means.
YES WE ALL MISS DEREK JONES I BELIEVE and YES REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER AND HELP THE BAND AND EVERYONE WHO KNEW HIM HAVE HEALING AND MERCY AND I LOVE YOU UNCLE RONNIE RADKE STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF AND ROCK ON UNCLE RONNIE RADKE THE DOUBLE R RR MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT
no but like how can he sing this song so brilliantly without bursting into tears, I came back to listen to this song after a long time and ugh,,, im crying
I remember when "dying is your latest fashion" was released I was in middle school and heard some of their hits from the album on myspace (I had to keep my myspace a secret from my parents, they said i was too young to have one) "situations" was one of the best songs I ever heard in my life. Because my computer time was limited by my parents I needed a way to listen to this album so I started planning how I was going to ask my strict parents to buy this CD for me(not an easy task). Long story short it cost me a Christmas gift the coming year but it was completely worth it and as soon as I heard this song for the first time I felt real emotion from a song and it began my life long journey of absolutely loving music.
I can literally FEEL his pain in my soul . My mother died when i was 12 from drugs. Both my older sisters passed away andy father died this year. I literally juat dont want to live anymore.
Ronnie wrote the song. The song is about his relationship with his mother. Saying it belongs to the band he was in during the original recording seems wrong to me
@@orchidmalevolence9726 In it's entirety...excluding three songs....four if you count the bonus song Make Up. I never found an explanation as to why they didn't actually play the entire record as advertised. Still a great show, but was disappointed. Still am.
It's no wonder this poor man has some troubles. A lot of people don't realize how hard this shit is. My story doesn't parallel his exactly but it's close and I can FEEL his pain
I have many similarities with his story with an addict mother included, having been abused, and it does leave a mark, but the worst is when you feel like you just never get the upper hand in life. I can relate to all the head splitting anger and sadness and that is why I find all the FIR songs are a great form of therapy.
Radke this is four years late man you'll never see this but I have so much respect for keeping yourself real through this performance.. a Pretty much Acapella after you thanked the 'band'.. I know it's hard for you.
its sad the parellels my life has with this song... My mother abanoned all of her kids... There are 13 of us.. I grew up with my brother and our dad. My brother is not a drug addict who wont come near the rest of the family... he runs to our mom lately... My dad... I owe him everything...
I use to change the lyrics of this song to fill the meaning, my situation is vice versa with yours, this song has gotten me through many tough situations during my life
TitanAnyMe Do you really think I give a sh!t about his past? I know, he shot someone in Vegas. He did drugs. He threw microphone stands at fans, but that was to get them pumped. Yes, he kicked people out of concerts for dumb reasons. I still feel bad for him.
that chorus is really hard for a man to sing, thats why i knew he was a great singer when i heard that track 10 years ago. he can pull it off live, probs!
I don't follow this scene anymore, but I was listening to the new songs and Ronnie's voice still amazing, even though I don't like their new direction they took
My brother has been a drug addict for 15 years. When I first heard this song I broke down because I've wanted to tell my brother to put the needles down a lot.
Update: my brother is in rehab and is doing so much better! My dad saw him the other day and he said he was acting like himself for the first time in 15 years. I'm hoping he's well enough by next year to come to my graduation from nursing school (if I make it. Lol)
Biconnecc well, he slipped back to his old ways again for a long time. He wasn’t able to attend my graduation because of it. But he went back to rehab about a month ago and is doing better again, he has a job and is staying in a good place with good roommates. Idk if he’ll continue doing well, or go back to doing drugs again, but I’m just going to show him my love and support.
I've revived my basically dead overdosed younger brother with narcan and been the first respondent other times. He's alive and there's hope but it's a lifelong battle for him now. I understand what you're going through and I hope you are able to stay strong in the dark times.
This was a song from escape the fate that he wrote in 2005 once he did a concert with his old band, EAST he sang this with them before his new band , FIR came out
I've legit waited for nearly 10 years for a decent live version of this song. This is not only decent, but stunning.
sarah farnon this fucken sucks
@@emilioestrada50 fuck u this was great
thank you so much!
So have I and agreed
If only the person recording wasn't having a damn seizure the whole time
I think he does his lil 'silly' voice bc he's trying to numb the pain a little
im surprised he could even numb the pain at all. to sing this song the way he did is insane
We all try to numb the pain with laughter but he really numbs the pain with the love from his fans he loves meeting them
he looks sad and angry at the same time.. it really hurts to imagine what he's been through
Listen to the song brother he wrote after his brother died its just as powerful
Cameron Archer Nah that one is Even worse
@@Unknownusername1004 yes is sad the fact we can't hear it in live.. i would like to
You can really hear the pain in his voice when it comes to this song. This and Brother are defs my favs. Love the voice cracks
Especially in brother

Anyone else get chills at the end after he says the boys you left are men you didn't raise?
Same
Chills to the bone. Hits home so hard
It makes me sad and gives me chills
Say what you want about Ronnie's singing but listening back on all these ETF songs he is a lyrical mastermind.
His eyes are getting glassy towards the end of the second verse, so much emotion, he truly is my hero
"Brother, put your needles down" I got chill bumps

2024 still ripping out hearts 💔
These three short minutes are filled with such an intense amount of pure emotion.
Such an amazing vocalist. I wish he could tell you how proud you should be of
This is actually Escape the Fate (same singer as Falling in Reverse). He even says at the end, "Falling in Reverse is up next" lol
Jackie McDonald he wrote all those songs, theyre basically his. escape the fate dont ever play ronnies songs live bc they would catch a shit show
Ronnie wrote the song. The song is about his relationship with his mother. Saying it belongs to the band he was in during the original recording seems wrong to me
Yeah Ronnie owns this song. He just was with Escape the Fate when he posted it. So they played the music while he sang
Well that's because he wrote DIYLF and the band played the album in its entirety to celebrate it's 10 year anniversary.
