    Really one of the best videos out there! In other videos walls are always perfect and installation made simple. This is a real world scenario where the wall was uneven and spray foam was a savior. Obviously, they should have applied it 100% correct themselves.

    As an ex decorator of 50 yrs ( retired ) it's nice to see a tradesman at work , it's all about attitude there's only two ways to do the job the right way and the wrong way there's no inbetween .

    Make sure you tape it first. That way, you don't have the extra step of cleaning it off of the morter, brick, and trim. Cheers !

    There is foam cleaner that you can just spray on to remove the overrun of the expanding foam.

    Hi... Love your attention and attitude towards your trade it's a great pleasure to watch. I have a question and I hope you can reply and if not I totally understand. How do I paint over gloss...do I just go over it with the new chosen colour gloss or is there more to it? Would really appreciate your help. Anyway I pray that you are well and good. Stay safe my brother

    Do you think this method would work with large gap between my window frame and brick? After I apply the expanding foam should I silicone or caulk? The window and frame are white, so I was thinking of maybe using white silicone???? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    • @myrahouse2368
      @myrahouse2368 Год назад

      I have Grey windows so I figured I’d use grey Silicone.
      I’ve seen people with white windows use brown the same shade as their brick.

    Using Soudal expanding polyurethane foam is fine, especially with the half masked area. However in sunlight it goes brown and starts to fall to dust after a few years. What about masking the brick and wood side and using mortar or an exterior water based filler. This could be painted afterwards. What it does need is someone to show how to get mortar and filler into variable widths gaps with some sort of U channel and pusher rod. Rubber gloves, fingers and a bit of stick makes a mess and does not do the job well. Polyfilla used to come in a squeezable tube, but a mastic cartridge version would be easier. There are cement mastic guns, but a plasticiser is added to the cement and gorillas with strong enough hands are difficult and expensive to hire. The aim is to get an aesthetic fill which lasts.

    Or simply fast forward the section. 😑
