it's really important to use very light pressure, basically no pressure at all. The cam edge of the chuck needs to remain in contact with the cam guide at all times. Once the technique to maintain that contact and apply only the lightest pressure is developed, the Drill Doctor works as advertised. It does not work well with bits that have an unusually fast or slow twist. It's only designed for the standard twist rate.
Arent you suppose to use the white lines as your half turn guide.? Start with white line up at the cam guide and turn against cutting wheelit till next white line is at cam guide
When drilling metal the drill can cut easier and faster if it is turned at a very low RPM. I use NAPA Cutting Oil to effect a good clean cut.

I followed the directions provided by Drill Doctor carefully. I read them more than once and had success sharpening my drill bits.
