Bingo. She always had this doubt. And for anyone wondering what the point of this scene was? What you said is the point. And in the preview of the next episode, Rhaenyra goes all out. It looks like we might finally see Rook's Rest.
@@jonadol they could have done that without pacing the last few episodes the way they did and in a better, nuanced way. Or cut the hesitation out at all. Now it feels that her avoidance of war was only because she "didn't believe in herself " now she can " go slay queen". Feels like high school writing and not a sophisticated fantasy like it was. Not to mention if alicent wanted to avoid war she could have had rhaenyra arrested right then and there (which would have been more logical in in GOT world but hey, sistas before mistas right? Girl code! Yay!) . Don't get me wrong I loved season 1 but this season feels different
@erinavery4577 girl code? Sweetie, if that's what you took, then you need to rewatch the show. Both her and Alicent hesitated BECAUSE THEY ALREADY LOST FAMILY TO THE WAR AND WANTED TO AVOID LOSING MORE. It's really NOT that hard to understand. Rhaenyra has exhausted ALL efforts. Now she knows without a shadow of a doubt that this blood that will be spilled is NOT on her hands. You men might not understand this, but it IS important to exhaust all other options BEFORE going nuclear. which, in their case, is using dragonfire.
Daemon arriving expecting to have a glorious take down of enemies at harrenhal just to end up at the dinner table begging to be at least poisoned was funny
I mean, you are literally forcing what happened into a comedy narrative that wasn't there (thankfully). What you've described is what lesser writers might do in order to pander to the "everything must be sarcastic or comedy" mindset. I personally don't have that kind of mindset and i find it very difficult to watch shows that use writers or actors who come at it in that way.
Even if Alicent hadn't misunderstood Viserys, the Council was planning to usurp Rhaenyra anyway, so it didn't matter anyway in some sense. But, it was refreshing to see a character say, "tell me what they said, exactly" instead of characters being vague and stupid for the sake of manufactured drama...
Ikr!! HoTD characters are so intelligent in asking questions, Be it Rhaenyra asking Daemon what were the exact instructions to blood and cheese, or her asking Baela how she identified Cristan Cole, or even Otto acting sense by fighting on behalf of innocent people being killed rather than just concerning about his own motive
While the content of that discussion was good, it still felt very contrived. We could have had this discussion with Rhaenyra and Alicent at a more natural time
i don't know why but i just love the way she chastises Daemon, first when she was asking for the egg back, and then in the flashback. i don't know if it's the actors, but it has always struck me that Daemon was softer around the edges when R was played by Milly. somehow i can't imagine him laying a hand on her the way he grabbed her neck and threw things about in Ep 2 when R was played by Emma (no hate to Emma, i like her version of R as well)
@@extrasoap4881 yes you’re right! And it’s exactly why Daemon suddenly realizes the horrors he allowed with the murder of Jaeherys. Seeing young Rhaenyra and how he always treated her softer and more innocent, he feels remorse
@@fpgmatthew this makes sense. it's like the flashback reminded him of how much younger she was, and how he really was leaving her to clean up his mess
That look on Alicents face after Rhaenyra talks about the Song of Ice and Fire... "Holy Seven, I fucked up. I'm so fucked. Father, Mother, Warrior, Smith, Maiden, Crone and Stranger, I did the biggest doodoo in the history of the Seven Kingdoms and now Aegon and Criston are running the show. Is it too late to bail out and become a Septa? Probably..."
I know - with every new episode the sting of GOT season 8’s disaster lessens a bit more. Can’t wait to see more. This show is better than every single show that Disney has crapped out since their streaming service began.
Crispy Cole certainly showed Alicent the “hand of the king”... he’s so awful. Fabian is playing him EXACTLY how I pictured him when reading Fire & Blood. Aemond is equal parts his father and his uncle. He would be 10x the king Aegon is. . But sadly he’s “loyal” to his brother. .. that brothel scene broke my heart for Aemond... he’s so polar opposite of his brother... loyal to that mother proxy at the brothel, whilst his brother “the king” r@ped women and sire countless bastards he banished to die in the fighting pits. . . viewers forget how AWFUL Aegon is. He’s so disgusting.
@@unc54 He is a member of the Royal Guard, and his only job is to protect the ruling family However the child was killed while Criston was having sex, and instead of accepting his mistake, he made Arryk go to his death !
Even if Queen Alicent took this new info to the council, they would ignore her. Remember the what happened after the passing of the king. Lord Otto and others in the small council immediately put his plan into motion, inspite of Queen Alicents protest. Irony is that at that time she was the most powerful person in the room and could ended it right then and there.
i find A quite spineless really, and rather traditional (not standing up for Helaena to be paraded, not standing up to her father's manipulation). the queen mother has always been a pawn.
The story was her reason to get Aegon the throne. Everyone else did it to gain/keep power. Her reason never mattered, it was just the catalyst for the opportunitists to get what they wanted
Not really. That is the reason the Starks and many others choose to keep royal prisoners. It is a powerful chess piece in war. Although the show tends to not make sense when handling the politics of ASOIAF
@fromheaventoearth5779 I somewhat agree but think Daemon wouldn't care and would act accordingly anyway and honestly from what we've seen of her council, they would find some excuse to proceed with the war and place either Daemon or Jace on the throne.
@@drob3820 If you've read the books, we both should understand that Rhaenyra is one of the few people Daemon sincerely loves. There is a strong argument that she is the reason he dies. Kidnapping Rhaenyra would remove Daemon's legs and Rhaenyra's council would bend the knee to Aegon in a heartbeat. I would bet literal cash. Edit: There is no sound reason for Alicent to let Rhaenyra go. I'm just happy the show isn't terrible so I'm not really complaining.
@@deenaprice1524 For real. Daemon has a hard enough time following Rhaenyra (and before her Viserys) and I'm supposed to believe the Hightower could reign him in
I chuckled when she dressed up as the nun, as I totally was reminded of the first Assassin's Creed. Then they showed hiding the blade up the sleeve. I don't know if they meant for that, but it was smile-worthy.
The face of Alicent after she listened "the song of Ice and fire" and realized how she messed everything out because she knew Vicerys was talking to Rhaenyra... The only thing It was missing was an slap to his face... That moment was priceless.
Rhaenyra sneaking into King’s Landing is a brilliant way to highlight how lax and disorganized security and rules have become during the cusp of war, parallel this to all of Aegon’s douche friends not taking their oaths seriously and guards just lounging around the staircase. It’s a dumpster fire. 😂
I dont believe it would've succeded for one second. Alicent would've been against it. Aegon too. Only reason it went through is because she though Viserys said aegon should be king. It's a difference between thinking about stuff which the council did and going through with it. But I agree there's no going back now. It's too far gone.
But I don't think Alicent would have supported it without misinterpreting his words. They had dinner the night before where she gives Rhaenyra her blessing and Otto looks somewhat defeated. I think Otto genuinely thinks Alicent had a change of heart, rather than what actually happened
Same cinematography has gotten better this season. People complain its boring because they wanna see bloodshed already. Clearly not keen enough to notice the details of the settings.
6:10 This scene is actually a little more complex than I think it seems. Alicent genuinely believed that Aegon was named the heir by Viserys on his deathbed, but now recognized in this conversation the mistake *she* made - but she reaffirms to Rhaenyra that there is *no* mistake. Regardless of whether Aegon was named heir - this is the intention of the Greens, the usurpation and the prosecution of the war. Even if Alicent erred in that moment, this is what they intend!
I think it’s important to remember that besides the prophecy, Otto already planned to kill Rhaenyra and her kids at the green council, the Aegon confusion just helped sleep better at at night and hide beneath the cloak of her duty and honor rather than face the cold truth that she was doing this due to her own selfish ambitions. I think learning the truth for Alicent only makes her confront her true nature rather than behind Viserys.
To be fair, most people wouldn’t recognise their prime mister or president even if that person sat next to them at McDonalds with a pair of sun glasses or a cap on.
Especially when there's a Civil War going on and the two factions have just recently sent assassins... The Crown Prince was also beheaded just a few days ago by an intruder...
The scene between Aegon and Aemond hits even harder when you remember Aemond actually confides in that woman; it's his one oasis of calm where he can be himself. And even THAT is stripped away and mocked by his own brother.
Jeremy, I draw the line way before baby pain to get the plot moving. I flat out stopped watching before the event. Same reason I saw no paranormal activity movies. Cheap shot. Plenty other things to watch. Thanks for the review, it's good enough to know what everybody is talking about, without actually having to watch it :))))
Rhaenyra AND Aegon showed why Rhaenyra should be ruler in this episode. Aegon is craven and psychotic, Rhaenyra has the masses best interests at heart.
I must admire the intelligent characters of HoTD They ask the right questions, Be it Rhaenyra asking Daemon what were the exact instructions to blood and cheese, or her asking Baela how she identified Cristan Cole, or even Otto acting sense by fighting on behalf of innocent people being killed rather than just concerning about his own motive Also, Daemon watching that vision makes much more sense to become committed again and understand how his actions affect others
If this show had writing like the Acolyte, then Daemon would have just said " Oh no, I feel really bad that I was the cause of killing that kid. I am so full of guilt, can't you tell? " But this episode actually shows us just in his facial expression, without having to tell us. That is great writing.
LMFAO, so true. And Rhaenyra would have fought the entire Kings Guard with a dagger to get into King’s Landing, taking on and putting down 12 dudes twice her size, without breaking a sweat.
My friend just watched GOT for the first time and is obsessed with it and this show. It’s honestly really cool seeing someone experience this amazing world and franchise for the first time.
Loving the politics and everything about HOTD, just wish it had more of what GOT had, I miss the wall and wildlings and the white walkers, I need more comedy, I know its packed full of dark dry funny moments especially when it comes to Daemon, but we don't have any funny likable characters like the imp and Bron. It could also do with more action, every episode feels like its building to something big happening but we did that in season 1.
Great review - I love the "Serenity" reference and the re-enactments/impressions - since I'm not watching the show I enjoy these recaps so I can follow along while being entertained 😁.
For those who are not a nerd like me, the convo between Rhaenyra and Alicent is completely new for the show and it was awesome for adding rich new layers into the story. I thought it was an incredible addition and what I love about this show (and GoT) when it’s on its game.
I love how this show manages to make every single scene tense and exciting. A lot of stuff was on the verge of exploding in this episode but then cooled down, and because you know that things certainly do explode then you feel this tension because you never know what’s going to happen. That makes this show so different, because in most other shows you know nothing bad will really happen to the main characters, and here you never do.
Very good episode. The one thing that stood out to me and that id hope they don't do too often is the jump from having a plan, then suddenly they are there and doing it. As Jeremy said, i find time jumping in order to not show getting there a bit jarring.
Top tier camera work in this episode. Daemon in his armor, the one shot take of the man entering the tavern, the slow shot of the aftermath of the battle with the sword... wow, just wow.
I’ve read all the books. Some twice over. Still, the emotional impact of the scene with Rhaenyra saying goodbye to her son hit me hard. Brilliant execution
This show is just so great at letting the actors SHOW their emotions rather than tell. The look at the end Rhaenera gives to Allicent shows so many thoughts and attitudes without a single word and its just *chefs kiss*
I mean, why open the episode showing a battle full of unnamed characters we don't know and care for? There would be no stakes at all. I rather like the hard cut.
The only thing I can remember is full on blower action... Was pretty shocked to see it tbh. Is that THE most explicit thing in a mainstream show? Anyone name something more than full and visible hawk tuah action on display in this ep?
If that blackwood in the opening was who I think he was, then I can't wait to see his actor cook in this war. He's my favorite member in team black along with the lads !!!
That blackwood from the opening is not the same blackwood kid from s1, who's probably the blackwood from the books you're thinking about. Also wasn't it mentioned that he died?
@@arcticshadow74 Nahh I had my hopes up due to the council saying the Blackwood that die was Lord Sam Blackwood. Which means this could now be a chance to finally introduced Bloody Ben as the new Blackwood Lord.
Man house of the dragon is insanely good, even the slow episodes are excellent, the people that find it boring, are obviously multitasking while watching the show, and not paying attention.
I loved the episode but was honestly disappointed with aegon. I expected him to be more mature going forward and not go out partying with his friends after his son died. felt disconnected to last episode. Especially after the chastity joke, I thought he was thinking “this is who I was like?”
Lol, I saw someone complaining that we've had 3 episodes without a battle and I was just like, GoT got 18 episodes in before the first onscreen battle. The stuff they're setting up in these episodes is going to make the battle so much more satisfying when it arrives.
Yeah I don’t get a large portion of the fanbase. Do they not understand that in this war there are like 4 or 5 battles total? And that if we just blitzed through two battles by now then literally half the characters and dragons would already be dead lmao. TikTok brainrot is too real
@@Adamantium93Yeah this is a complaint I don't get. GoT season 1 famously made all of the Battles in Season 1 off screen. Hell the entirety of the War of 5 Kings was basically just the Battle of Black Water in the show. And it's not like these episodes of have nothing. You are basically getting a GoT Season 7-8 level dragon in every Episode. And on top of that look at the world building in each episode. Just the sheer size of the set of Harrenhall. We have rarely seen sets this big in TV. These huge practical sets cost a lot of money. I think a big portion of the Audience takes anything that isn't straight up action for granted. The extensive sets, costumes, props, CGI elements that make the world of Westeros look so big and real and lived in cost a lot of money and are rarely found in other shows.
@@givepaddytheemmy4535Didn't stop Game of Thrones S3 from becoming one of the best seasons in television history despite it never actually showing any of the many Robb Stark victories over the Lannisters. That season gave us the Red Wedding, which was far superior to any shown battle in the entire series.
Meh, NO kings and queens sneaking behind enemy lines, into enemy cities, and talking to the most protected characters is rather DUMB! It simply doesn't happen. Every time a royal takes a dump, it is noted and analyzed.
“Fire Emblem PTSD”. I feel you there. Any fantasy show I just automatically assume flying-mount soldiers should be afraid of archers. Or wind/thunder magic if the scenery looks like Tellius.
I think i might be the only one who thought this was a weak episode. I didnt think the writing or pacing was great, plot didnt move along and alot of unnecessary dialogue that the audience already knew. Felt kind of cheap to me and reminded me of season 7 writing 🤷♀️
I definitely got season 7 vibes, I'd say HOTD is usually on like GOT season 5-6 level and sometimes reaches peak GOT like episodes 7 and 8 of season 1 but yeah this felt off (and not because of the lack of action)
I'm with you on this one. While I think criticisms on the apparent lack of action are idiotic, the writing on these last two episodes was sub-par, to say the least. Rhys Ifans hard carried as Otto last episode, but this one fell flat for me. It might be because I just can't stand the whole "Prince That Was Promised misunderstanding" story to begin with.
however you feel about Alicent, you can't deny that she still loves Rhaenyra, it's the reason why she stopped the council from assassinating Rhaenyra after Viserys died and the reason why she looked so upset about the truth... not only did it start a war but she realized she lost Rhaenyra over a misunderstanding and so much has happened she can't take it back
You KNOW a ton has happened when we don't even talk about the Cargylls' fight. Really dug that, though i was kinda hoping to see the impact of Mysaria turning back to warn the queen's gaurds. Feels like there was a scene cut with her going back and Ser Erryk hears it and runs back to protect Rheanyra. Edit: I got episodes 2 and 3 mixed together. Still, this was a good episode.
@rendraverse8613 oh, you're right. I hadn't finished that episode and watched the last 15 minutes right before the new episode and forgot. My bad. Thanks for the clarity.
it was the highlight of Ep 2. in fact i thought it overshadowed Aemond's nude scene so much, the showrunners had to say 'eh we gotta go full frontal next ep' 😂
I felt the Sept scene was very contrived but the rest of the episode was good. I am getting a bit tired of the "women want peace" thing though because it's starting to feel ridiculous. Daemon at Harrenhal was the highlight for me.
Love the show, but hate 2 things: 1. Each episode someone sneaks into a place which should be heavily guarded 2. None of the main characters thunk about safety and go to the places where they shouldn't be going, like FUCKING KING going to bars and brothels and FUCKING REBEL QUEEN going to the capital fir a 2-minute chat with her former bestie
I think it's a real missed opportunity for the show, if you're gonna have the queen sneak into the heart of enemy territory then at least make it suspenseful and show that there's a lot at stake. They could have drawn it out a bit, shown her trying to sneak around possibly even get discovered by someone but then that someone gets killed by an unforseen ally before they tell anyone. But no she just strolls up into kings landing no problem and is able to get close enough to the queen mother to kill her.
@@cousin_of_dora Thanks. I did enjoy it up to season 3. When I started the 1st episode on season 4, I couldn’t even finish it. Something just seemed off with me. I hope it gets better as I go through the episodes.

Made the terrible mistake of looking at the comments. People really can’t just enjoy things huh? The show has been great so far, I’m not bothered by the fast travel stuff or the sneaking into places trope because all those decisions serve a purpose. When they push the plot forward it results in something interesting and genuinely consequential unlike so many other shows. The choices characters make feel natural even if they are incredibly short sighted. Thoroughly enjoying it 👍
@@jaredvester right? I didn’t even want to mention the Acolyte, talk about character consistency omg. Vaaaast difference in care and attention towards the story and the production.
Fast travel is not egregious as it was in late seasons of GoT. King's Landing and Dragonstone are two of the closest points of interest in the show's universe, people complaining about it have probably never looked at a map of Westeros. That being said, I think that the writing quality this season is not as great as S01, which I loved, and doesn't hold a candle to early seasons of GoT. It might very well be the best show we've got right now by a long shot, but let's not allow the continuous stream of shitty productions like The Acolyte lower our standards to what a good show should be.
@@LuisGustavoBD love this reply. I agree, it’s not as tight as peak GOT and we shouldn’t let the general lowering of the bar affect how we compare the two. It truly comes across and adds to my enjoyment
Don’t mind not having battles, but the dialogue this season has been really drawn out and boring in many of the scenes. Still a great show, but the first season packed a much bigger punch in much fewer lines of dialogue.

@halfriver I love that they weren't afraid to dive into magic. GOT kinda lacked a LOT of the magic in the books. "But dragons and wargs and fire seeing and greenseers and the children." No no no there's a TON more in the books. I'm willing to bet what Daenon heard was Harren and his sons being roasted alive by Balerion.
Dude seriously. I didn’t even know they were allowed to show that on TV lol. I remember reading an interview about the boys where they were discussing one of their scenes and they discussed the limitations on sexual encounters. Then HotD did that and I was like what
@@stelmaria-mx that could have been done in a more subtle and nuanced way instead of dragging it out in an entire scene. There has been "character development" for 12 episodes so far. They don't know how to pace and alot of scenes are literal dialogue of the plot. This writing reminds me if season 7 and 8. Alicent would have kidnapped rhaenyra in the end and the war would have been over. That entire scene with them was info that the audience already knew and alicent realizing " this was a misunderstanding" seems really elementary to me because the war was going to happen anyways
I actually thought the episode was mostly mid or slightly above mid and I don’t buy Rhaenyra risking her life just to have a chat with Alicent. Alicent could’ve easily screamed and cried for help after she left regardless Rhaenyra holding a knife. I’m not sure that part was ever in the book. An added scene to have Emma and Olivia interact again. I did like the confusion of Aegon the Conqueror finally being solved. The parts I did like from the episode - - Rhaenyra and Mysaria bonding more. Mysaria is an important ally to Rhaenyra in this entire story. - Introduction to Ulf the White. He’s likable now similar to Hugh Hammer. Let’s just say I will compare Ulf to what Paul George recently did to my LA Clippers. 💰 That is all. - Introduction to Alys Rivers. When Alys said to Daemon that he will die here in Harrenhal, remember that the God’s Eye lake is next to that castle. - Dream sequence brought back Milly Alcock for a surprise cameo and humanizes Daemon giving him a guilt trip over Jaehaerys’ death. I’ve been desensitized from The Boys for showing tons of male genitalia, so when I saw Ewan Mitchell show his cock, I wasn’t that shocked. It may not be his real penis showing either. That could be prosthetics or he’s patched or wearing a thong and the penis was CGI added. Rob Benedict who portrayed Splinter in The Boys S4 wore prosthetics penis and ass. I was actually more shocked with Ewan’s torso. He’s ripped! Ewan is 27 but he has a ripped torso and isn’t Aemond supposed to be only around 16-17? But then it’s weird because Ewan still has skinny arms. Tiny biceps. He’s not like Manny Jacinto who actually has always been ripped even before he became Jason Mendoza in The Good Place and way before Darth Biceps. If you want to see more male genitalia… Wild Things (Kevin showed his bacon) Forgetting Sarah Marshall Zack and Miri Make a Porno Most Sacha Baron Cohen comedies Pam & Tommy The Boys Gen V Aemond showing his penis was hardly shocking if you watch The Boys. And again, it could be CGI or prosthetics. Aegon went back being a douchebag again bullying his younger brother. The whorehouse scene with a woman sucking a guy’s huge cock seemed unnecessary. It’s obviously prosthetics because HBO can’t show porn. They couldn’t when they aired Real Sex and Cathouse: The Series. I was actually concerned if Daemon was going to hook up with Alys Rivers. I was like, “Don’t trust that b*tch!” She’s like a witch. She’s future paramour to the full monty himself in this episode. The less interactions with Alys, the safer Daemon would be. Don’t trust these witch b*tches! We got to see more of Rhaena at least. She had more speaking lines. But then she ends up being a babysitter to Rhaenyra’s kids since she has no dragon. Criston Cole with that stupid haircut and being a douche to Alicent’s brother who called Criston the “knight of comfort.” Fabien Frankel might be one of the most handsome actors to ever portray such a hated character. I think he’s more handsome than Matt Smith and Ewan Mitchell but Daemon and Aemond are the Final Fantasy characters. Similar to Qimir/Smilo Ren, they can sell merch. I just thought the last part between Rhaenyra hiding in disguise as some nun to speak with Alicent didn’t feel realistic to me. Why risk her life for it? Why not write letters and have ravens drop them off? Rhaenyra is the most important character to Team Black and she’s willing to risk her life to have a 3-minute chat with Alicent? Episode 3: B- Episode 3 felt like a filler episode before the next big one which will be Episode 4. Ep. 2 was the strongest one so far thanks to the strong acting from Tom, Rhys, and Emma. The next episode is going to be crazy: Battle at Rook’s Rest. If you know the outcome, I give my best to Eve. 😭

i don't know why but i just love the way she chastises Daemon, first when she was asking for the egg back, and then in the flashback. i don't know if it's the actors, but it has always struck me that Daemon was softer around the edges when R was played by Milly. somehow i can't imagine him laying a hand on her the way he grabbed her neck and threw things about in Ep 2 when R was played by Emma (no hate to Emma, i like her version of R as well)

Even if Alicent had her captured or killed, It'd just empower Deamon and her son Jace to go full Fire and Blood.
Right. Like we didn't just hear Daemon demand to be called "Your Grace".
To be fair, Assassin's Creed never invented that. It took the knife up the sleeve trope from throughout our real history in the real world.
The face of Alicent after she listened "the song of Ice and fire" and realized how she messed everything out because she knew Vicerys was talking to Rhaenyra...

Modesty is beautiful.
That may be true. But it's still a stupid scene
The thing is, they were already planning to userp the throne regardless of what Alicent heard so there is definitely no going back no matter what.
People overlook this....
“The Aemmond face” had me dead 😂😂😂😂😂
Same cinematography has gotten better this season. People complain its boring because they wanna see bloodshed already. Clearly not keen enough to notice the details of the settings.
6:10 This scene is actually a little more complex than I think it seems. Alicent genuinely believed that Aegon was named the heir by Viserys on his deathbed, but now recognized in this conversation the mistake *she* made - but she reaffirms to Rhaenyra that there is *no* mistake. Regardless of whether Aegon was named heir - this is the intention of the Greens, the usurpation and the prosecution of the war. Even if Alicent erred in that moment, this is what they intend!
i thought she was just in denial
I think it’s important to remember that besides the prophecy, Otto already planned to kill Rhaenyra and her kids at the green council, the Aegon confusion just helped sleep better at at night and hide beneath the cloak of her duty and honor rather than face the cold truth that she was doing this due to her own selfish ambitions. I think learning the truth for Alicent only makes her confront her true nature rather than behind Viserys.

Yes, you can also ride dragons in this show.
that city big like realy big with millions of people in it
Especially when there's a Civil War going on and the two factions have just recently sent assassins... The Crown Prince was also beheaded just a few days ago by an intruder...
The scene between Aegon and Aemond hits even harder when you remember Aemond actually confides in that woman; it's his one oasis of calm where he can be himself. And even THAT is stripped away and mocked by his own brother.
Aegon was Aemond biggest bully

Rhaenyra AND Aegon showed why Rhaenyra should be ruler in this episode. Aegon is craven and psychotic, Rhaenyra has the masses best interests at heart.
"Hand in the Queen" how dare you 😂😂
I must admire the intelligent characters of HoTD
They ask the right questions,
Be it Rhaenyra asking Daemon what were the exact instructions to blood and cheese, or her asking Baela how she identified Cristan Cole, or even Otto acting sense by fighting on behalf of innocent people being killed rather than just concerning about his own motive
Also, Daemon watching that vision makes much more sense to become committed again and understand how his actions affect others

I love how this show manages to make every single scene tense and exciting.
Yup it was kinda boring ngl
however you feel about Alicent, you can't deny that she still loves Rhaenyra, it's the reason why she stopped the council from assassinating Rhaenyra after Viserys died and the reason why she looked so upset about the truth... not only did it start a war but she realized she lost Rhaenyra over a misunderstanding and so much has happened she can't take it back
You KNOW a ton has happened when we don't even talk about the Cargylls' fight. Really dug that, though i was kinda hoping to see the impact of Mysaria turning back to warn the queen's gaurds. it was the highlight of Ep 2. in fact i thought it overshadowed Aemond's nude scene so much, the showrunners had to say 'eh we gotta go full frontal next ep' 😂
I felt the Sept scene was very contrived but the rest of the episode was good. I am getting a bit tired of the "women want peace" thing though because it's starting to feel ridiculous. Daemon at Harrenhal was the highlight for me.
Love the show, but hate 2 things:
1. Each episode someone sneaks into a place which should be heavily guarded
2. None of the main characters thunk about safety and go to the places where they shouldn't be going, like FUCKING KING going to bars and brothels and FUCKING REBEL QUEEN going to the capital fir a 2-minute chat with her former bestie
Feels cheap and like we are in high school. I'm losing Faith in the show
I think it's a real missed opportunity for the show, if you're gonna have the queen sneak into the heart of enemy territory then at least make it suspenseful and show that there's a lot at stake. They could have drawn it out a bit, shown her trying to sneak around possibly even get discovered by someone but then that someone gets killed by an unforseen ally before they tell anyone. But no she just strolls up into kings landing no problem and is able to get close enough to the queen mother to kill her.

@jaredvester people just want instant gratification these days is all. They'd never have survived on cable 😅
Gotta rewatch the opening now and start paying attention to it more in the future 😆
Don’t mind not having battles, but the dialogue this season has been really drawn out and boring in many of the scenes. Still a great show, but the first season packed a much bigger punch in much fewer lines of dialogue.

Mythical charachter unlocked:
Dark Souls Daemon
I actually thought the episode was mostly mid or slightly above mid and I don’t buy Rhaenyra risking her life just to have a chat with Alicent. Alicent could’ve easily screamed and cried for help after she left regardless Rhaenyra holding a knife. I’m not sure that part was ever in the book. An added scene to have Emma and Olivia interact again. I did like the confusion of Aegon the Conqueror finally being solved.
The parts I did like from the episode -
- Rhaenyra and Mysaria bonding more.
If you want to see more male genitalia…

Aemond showing his penis was hardly shocking if you watch The Boys.
Criston Cole with that stupid haircut and being a douche to Alicent’s brother who called Criston the “knight of comfort.”
Fabien Frankel might be one of the most handsome actors to ever portray such a hated character.
Episode 3: B-
Episode 3 felt like a filler episode before the next big one which will be Episode 4. Ep. 2 was the strongest one so far thanks to the strong acting from Tom, Rhys, and Emma. The next episode is going to be crazy: Battle at Rook’s Rest. If you know the outcome, I give my best to Eve. 😭
The Aemond impression was great lol.
It’s pinky toe 😂
Harrenhal sequences were awesome.
this has quickly turned into illogical fan fiction season 7 writing real quick, characters having no accountability, everything is a "whoopsie" fast travel again unlocked, no security in KL at all, song of ice and fire shit is so dumb, making helena weird so they dont have to flesh out her character, rhaenyra kills inoocnent person to replace husband in first season, rhaenys mass murders people in dragon pit, never brought up again, just a normal good guy vs bad guy show, still isn't terrible but god this should be so much better, at this point they willl just keep changing everything so rhaenyra girl bosses her way to easily win the throne
People still don’t understand that Dragonstone to King’s Landing is not a long trip, and also you can skip ahead over the boring parts (sailing to KL) to get to the important part and it doesn’t mean anyone teleported
@@Rps2800 its not as bad as littlefinger fast travel, yet, it just shows theyre willing to do this, it still kills the pacing when its right after the last scene when they plan it, plus thats just a small problem compared to how dumb it has gotten
@@manbearpig2267we don’t know how long they waited and planned for
@@Rounderyathecruel true, it could have been days later, but still, cutting right to it the very next scene is so jarring and kills the pacing
Aegon is spindly like slenderman, but damm he also has some muscles and 6 pack. He has not skipped the battletraining.
It was an okay episode, kinda boring ngl, Daemon at Harrenhall was the best part
How anyone can find this boring I just don't know ngl.

Are we watching the same show? What would make it good in your eyes then?

I'm glad that you still like this show and congratulations to the people who are making it. For me. I'm just waiting for the upcoming vampire movie that is coming out near the end of this year December 25th 2024 titled. Nosferatu.
