I came here to tell you what happened to me recently. I've always watched your videos tanking with the prot pally, soloing bosses and that inspired to create one myself. I didn't play wow in the past so Cataclysm is all new to me. Then I discovered that prot pallys are not in their best right now, like everyone prefer a BDK or a Bear over a prot pally. But I liked prot pally so I sticked with it and tried my best do gear myself. And I avoided doing heroics because of that, being new in the game and not the bis class atm. Then I needed a chaos orb to create my engineer helm and I told my situation to a guild member. And she convinced me to try do to heroics. We got Stonecore, deadmines, Blackrock Cavern and then Grim Batol. We had a few wipes in the first three but we did in the end. Grim Batol was the one I feared the most, it seemed way harder than the others because bosses had some unique mechanics. The party struggled a lot during the boss fights and we somehow got to the last boss. So near the end of the fight the party was not able to kill the adds quickly and the 4 of them died and so I was in a 1on1 situation with the last boss. I tried my best to mantain my focus and used my cooldowns wisely, trying to remember the way you acted in those situations in your videos, and it was like every hint you gave, the way to move, the rotations, stat priorities when gearing myself etc, everything counted in that moment and I managed to finish the fight and was really surprised when the achievement from H.Grim Batol popped up on my screen. The party members went crazy. So thank you very much SubtleFW =)
Funny you mention a blood DK soloing last phase of Al'Akir in 10man normal. That happened in our guild run - It wasn't quite solo but there was 3 people left alive in that phase and no healer so the blood DK kept himself alive
Aye there we go! Been waiting for this after the first week of raiding. My casual guild got everything (normal) except for Nef. I've never seen the fight in action so Prot warrior on adds is fun but TOUGH not knowing it. Confident we'll down him this week!
