From the angle and the buildings near you, I'm guessing your shot in the beginning is from somewhere in the low 90s near 2nd Ave. Pretty high up too.
BTW, there's a path similar to this under the George Washington Bridge and you pass the Little Red Lighthouse which is kinda a hidden landmark under the bridge. There's tennis courts down there and a FREE bathroom that's heated in the winter.
