- Friends of deceased woman Karen Swift testified about the alleged stalking and controlling behavior her husband, David Swift, had when she alive during his murder trial. David Swift is accused of murdering his first wife in 2011. He was eventually arrested more than a decade later. Law&Crime's Brian Buckmire has more on what they had to say about the defendant and other testimony.

I actually went to college with David. And even sang in his wedding with Karen.
What was David like?
He was one of the nicest guys I had ever met. When I found out that his wife was murdered I was shocked. And even more shocked when he was a murder suspect. However, the spouse is always a suspect. But I had reached out to him at that time and he said he was not guilty. And from the years that I had known him in college, I didn’t think he could have done this. And I’m still unsure.
@new2nash Well... I doubt he would tell you if he did. I don't know him, but I suspected him off the bat. Heard too many weird things.

I don't hear stalking ,controlling behavior scary how u people judge and want to see a innocent man go to jail , while Karen loved the wild life how do u not know if she landed up with the wrong growed , there is no evidence on this man
@@user-js5fe5kt4j I'd say there is a great deal of evidence. Witnesses, text messages, and location evidence from cell phone data. Calling a partner multiple times when they are out is stalking behavior, as is trolling their location in a vehicle. But, it is not for us to say, the jury will decide on the preponderance of the evidence.

This monster stalked, controlled and harassed this lady. A lady who wanted a divorce but he would not let her go. I am sick and tired of people (including women) who say she should have been the little lady and did as she was told and not go out with friends when she has children. Just because you have children doesn't mean you don't have a life of your own! This is the US in 2024; not Iraq!!

True but it seems it was done quite a bit between parties, meeting friends for food and drinks, working out, hanging out at girlfriend's houses! It doesn't seem like she had much time for the kids! Who watched the kids when she was gone so much? It may be the US but when you marry and have four children your lifestyle changes drastically if you're doing the right thing! If you don't want it to change don't have kids!!
@@susankustich1720 So what Susan Kustich. She made a mistake in marrying him and having kids with him. Have you ever made a mistake or is your life perfect? She was out a lot because she was trying to get away from him and try and start a new life possibly with someone else but he wouldn't let her! People who victim blame should be ashamed of themselves.

I think they should look at Karen’s friends Kathy and Bill. There was something deep going on with those two.
Who cares. I think the only deep thing that was going on with her friends, is that they were trying to protect her from her psycho stalker, husband. They seemed to have cared about her. Unlike her husband.
ABSOLUTELY Bill gave me the chills. He's creepy. I believe he was obsessed with Karen. Robin being a friend had no reason to lie about Bill being inappropriate with Karen.

Sounds like they were.... friends. Controlling people try to cut you off from family and friends. Personal experience.
Have only heard bits and pieces but seems like friends who said he was controlling, were party animals and she was always out with them. Wanting to know where your wife is isn’t always stalking. Have to see more.
Calling multiple times within a half hour is stalking. Following two women to a shopping center in your vehicle is stalking. And just plain weird. "Party animals" because they are shopping at Big Lots? Come on.
