I’m so disappointed that he did not address them in Japanese. His brother at Indiana University and I used to speak Japanese together. His Japanese was much better than mine; I believe he would’ve easily delivered a robust and perhaps elegant speech to an international forum such as this. How impressive it would’ve been to see the Dalai Lama deliver such. Who's being ignorant? If you keep living in the past, you will never be able to move forward. Forgiveness is paramount, it doesn't mean forgetting, but moving forward, and being able to live with the knowledge that what's done is done and must never happen again, is key.
