You lads make it look so easy controlling these machines! I've recently become a proud owner of a 5T with the 26cc engine & admit I am a little scared of wrecking it. The power to weight is unbelievable & they are far from easy to control straight off the bat 😂 I was very lucky to have got mine for next to nothing pre owned with absolutely no use whatsoever due to the previous owner connecting the receiver power reverse polarity frying everything 🤑 New receiver fitted & everything was fixed except for the engine not wanting to run as the piston ring had seized on the piston from being in the weather. Dropped the head off along with removing the piston ring to clean it & reasonably seen the engine come to life 😍 I am literally feeling like a kid again playing with big boys toys 👌🏼 $300 is what my machine owes me to date with my first attempt of having fun on 4/4/2020

Is there more torque or more powerband with the alx or somthing ? The rcmax seem more like screemers higher rasp ? Realy stuck between the 40gt and alx40 the alx40 seems like your getting more for your money and andizing also love the pipe alx comes with
Tip of the day: if you want your engine to last, forget Malossi. Go with Athena in stead. Cheaper, and lasts longer. My brother had an Athena 70cc on his Gilera Runner SP scooter. It kept running and running and running, for around 30.000 km before it got stolen... Some other friends ran similar setups with Malossi Hyper Racing cylinders and they had to replace them after about 1000km because they'd be all wallered out. Horsepower was very close between them. Endurance not so much.
@@RCmaxxUK well, I highly recommend you don't... Especially with the MHR cylinders, you'll spend as much time under the scooter as on it. Athena seems to have the best bang-per-buck ratio. If you have a bit more to spend, Gilardoni might be interesting. They have some cylinders where you can replace the inner nickosil sleeve when it's worn out, and they allow for a bit higher revving than the Athena. About 50% more expensive, though. And higher revving also means you'll wear out your crankshaft a lot sooner. I'd be inclined to say, if you want to win drag races, go for Gilardoni. If you want it to keep running reliably, go with Athena. Added benefit : if you tune it for lower revving, it also saves a LOT of fuel. My brother's scooter topped out at about 120 km/h but it only drank a litre of fuel in 25, 28 km. He ran it with a 17,5mm DeLorto carb and a Malossi red sponge in the standard air box. If you put a little 2stroke oil on the filter sponge, it helps keep the dust out your engine and thus also helps longevity. Also, if you're going to tune it up, don't forget to also get some performance break pads. If you want to ride fast, you must also be able to brake fast. Good luck.
Remco I would have to disagree! I have had lots of Athena cylinders in my time of doing RC and I can assure you they don’t compare to anything like Malossi in terms of power or reliability
the 71cc engines seem like the ultimate braggadocio power plant! I'd take one of these over an 80cc or 90cc. The stronger ones will just rip everything from your gears to your tires to shreds...

@BAJAFLATOUT!! Beat it how, on a short-course, tight-turn race track? Probably so in that case but even on this video, the big bore blasts past what appears to be 32 and under cc engines. There's about nine cars in this video and the only one that STANDS OUT is the BiG-Bore.

BRAP RC 😂😂... it does! Only slowed down though. Only thing I’ve ever sped up in a vid isn’t talking or walk of shame! 🤣. It’s a crazy machine. The alx 80mm clutch gives so much bite it takes off like a rocket!!
Which drive shafts do you use? I drive a MCD W5 SCT with ball drive so I have very big problems because the drive bone is constantly broken where the steel balls are placed :-(
I wanna know how many runs can you get on that ALX before things begin to fall apart ? How many sets of tires have to be bought ? I want a bigger CC engine but am afraid I won't be able to afford new parts every weekend , is that the reality with stuff above 65cc??
I went into this video thinking this is just another large engine rc car that really isn't as impressive as it's engine.I was wrong this thing seems to really rip.Just might have changed my mind about big cc gas rc.
You shoul have people drive $20 walmart cars on the track during the race it would make lots of fun and laughs when they crash and destroy the cheap cars😂😂

With and center diff and probably a 60-80mm centifrugal clutch on the engine.
