    I shall be forever grateful to Sunak that he called the election when he did rather than making us suffer through another 6 months of Tory torture...though I realise he didn't do it for the public, he did it for himself

    I think its important to remember Kier was oersinally elected by the people at a general election. Whereas sunak just got pushed forward by his party

    The in-fighting was a side issue. If these people on this video are seriously suggesting that's why people voted the Tories out, I am worried about political analysis in the media in this country (as if I wasn't already). People hated taxpayers money being transferred to the rich, sewage in the rivers and seas, the NHS with dangerously long waiting lists, partygate, Truss wiping millions of pounds off of pension funds and increasing mortgage payments for millions, arrogance, dog-whistle politics, cost of living and fall in wages, privatised energy, water and rail companies being absolutely useless with no accountability and weak regulation. All THAT, amongst other things, is why the Tories were hammered

      And quite rightly so. The Tories will be forever remembered for skyrocketing NHS waiting lists, school roofs falling in, prisons brimming with prisoners and projects being scrapped. They had the majority and the time to address these problems, but decided to do evil instead.

    There seems to be a notable halt on daily scandals involving MPs of the controlling party, of ministers talking over interviewers whilst repeating the same irrelevant phrases, continually pushing issues of (at best) tertiary importance to most people and ignoring the rest... and the intensely annoying gaslighting.
    No wonder there is a feeling of relief. That there are indications of things actually beginning to happen - an air of competence... Well - that is unsettling. In a nice way. Will it continue? One can hope.
    Yes. That's the word. Hope.

    Yes, Labour would have protested about prison sentences being cut because of over-crowding.
    But the objection would have been that the Tories allowed the overcrowding in the first place!
    This is totally different to Labour being upset that they have to deal with this mess - it's a situation forced on them - not one they created. Surely that's pretty clear?

      I remember years ago, under Labour, prisoners being transferred to Bridewells for a few weeks whilst the situation eased. That's how labour sorted it then. Why have they released them into the community this time instead?

      If England win and Sunak was still in power he could have benefited by the feel good factor. Its a spurious argument and probably doesn't hold water. However, I think Labour will benefit from it in the short term.

    Sunak's big mistake in our opinion was, attacking on disability payments, sick should work, pip will be in vouchers and most horrible was that neighbours will be asked about the disabled situation 😮we were Shocked and felt sick because in this evil world world mostly people won't say good for others!

      @@Heuhegeygeygeheu Not much choice though - 18% of those in prison are still on remand, in other words, awaiting trial or sentencing and they've been there for twice as long as they should be under our laws. Due to our Courts not working properly, too many cuts down the last couple of decades.

      Let's say your mum has been stalked for years and the guy that stalked her was imprisoned for 5 years - you are advocating for him to be released after 24 months as opposed to 30 months and seemingly without any real measures to check whether or not they are suitable to be freed early.

    The sad part is all Sunak had to do was pull us from the ECHR and get the Rwanda flights going, that would've been enough to keep the Tories in.
    But the unelected Sunak just played at being PM and never made any effort, he talked a good game but was short on action and that was his downfall.

    Hardly strong first week, have you any idea how many foreign nationals have illegally entered the UK since Starmer took office. Now consider how many convicted prisoners will be released early.
