    Great video. Thanks. I think I viewed about 15 different videos to replace the cabin filter for a 2013 5 series and yours is the only correct version. All others removed the torx 20 screws along with the 30's. Only required to remove the 30. Easy job, took about a half an hour.

    Cool video. I wish I had screws holding my cabin air filter into place, instead of clips. It was confusing how to get mine undone. I'm curious what the grey tube is for. My guess would be particulate monitoring to decide to change the HVAC to recirculate, but I'm not sure.

  • @vmusarvs
    @vmusarvs 4 месяца назад

    This video won't help if you own a 2015 550i xDrive because he only shows removing two screws to detach the airbag container whereas there are two Torx screws and two 10mm bolts (read the comment by @granturismo5742). Be wary of that or you'll risk tearing up the trim. Other than than this video was very helpful. Although, I should point out a flaw in judgement when he disconnects power at the battery's positive terminal. As a safety consideration, you should always remove the negative/ground terminal rather than the positive/live since ground is distributed **openly** throughout the car. It is not a critical consideration for this particular task, but will be if you are working on, or near, electrical components around the engine compartment where a tool could potentially cause a short and sparking.

    Something you didn’t specify ( or at least I didn’t see a comment on ) is the MASSIVE difference between cabin air filter and air particulate filter in this video you replaced the particulate filter so if you go to o Riley’s and buy a “ cabin air filter” you will buy the wrong one and end up with your car apart and no replacement filter :(

    • @NoName-lo3lu
      @NoName-lo3lu Год назад

      This is not a "particulate filter" this is the cabin air filter for his 535i, if you are referring to the 530i (bmw) they are located under the hood in front of the windshield. BMW ONLY have "particulate filter(s)" in the 'DPF' model (Diesel Particulate Filter.) Anything else and it isn't a true OEM part, or thing. The "Diesel Particulate Filter" is located under the hood next to the engine (by the turbo[s] inlet) not under the glove box. The cabin air filter is the same as the micro filter, only differences is preference, other than the engine air filter (of course.)
      Have a good & great day. :)

    Good advice on disconnecting the battery, but that white clip is not the airbag sensor. That's the power supply for the power port. The airbag connector is on the other side, and I'd be careful if you disconnect it; it's small and easily damaged. Just disconnect the battery and let the charge dissipate, then do the work. Also, don't take off those 2 t screws; they hold 2 panels together and they come out as one piece. If the panel that says "airbag" comes apart from the larger piece that houses the power port and foot well light, the airbag sensor wires are very small and short and they can get ripped out of the sensor.
