For Mzekezeke to flourish as a character, there's a need for a distinction between DJ Sbu and him. Blending the two would compromise one of them. Mzekezeke deserves to be taken seriously and treated as an individual apart from DJ Sbu.

It's obvious that Mzekezeke is DJ Sbu but you're observation is mistaken. Sbu's left hand is not cut by anything, it's just that from the camera angle it went behind the mic stand.
