dahye reminds me a lot of bohyun in season 1. bohyun and homin's break up was also really fresh and from a years long relationship. homin was mostly fine through out the show but bohyun was sobbing her eyes out nearly every day. it got better after she left the house for a few days and later on coupled up with minjae who was very much ready to do anything to put a smile on her face. i wish that for dahye as well, she deserves to be happy.
With these exs too, of COURSE she's a wreck when she didn't even WANT THIS. It wasn't an amicable break up or a mutual breakup, he admits that he said harsh words to her, she begged him not to go, he was even like i asked you why you were trying so hard. Like. God knows what he said and what she must be beating herself up over those past 4 months. 13 years since she was 17, that's a foundational relationship, a bedrock of your life. It's hard enough for him to choose to leave it but from her pov it was RIPPED away like wtf. BABE WHY DID YOU AGREE TO THIS SHOW you can't write this stuff
I think for Dongjin's smart play here is that the show is also his way of entering the entertainment industry. From an agency's standpoint, I would recruit him as an actor first or put him on a variety show because his backstory will get a lot of public sympathy... kind of an underdog situation.., especially if he doesnt hit it off with anyone in the show. people will want to see him succeed in his long lost dream and that is his gateway to more presence in show business. this works for Dahye's situation too - it definately gets her more exposure as an artist - and now with every other comeback, listeners will wonder how much of her long relationship has influenced these records.
God imagine if the gift that Dahye gave back to Dongjin was something like a music cd or a mic or a headset, to say something like I know it’s too late but I want to give you back your dream cause you helped mine or some shit. God I’m full delulu for this two and idk how they are both gonna be capable functioning human beings for three weeks with the amount of emotional baggage they have like gawddd 😢
I just realised that there isn't just that they started filming 4 months after they broke up. When was the casting call? Because I can't imagine that they do all the casting interviews and stuff like a week before filming. One of them (probably DongJin) made the decision to apply for the show even super early after the break up.

@@TheAmpliverse @adlizto Anything longer than 2 hours as a daily commute is crazy for me, even though I've lived in different countries in Europe and I experienced how people's perception of distance can vary. But maybe in the show they meant it as "it's far considering we're in the city center". I'm guessing it's uncommon to live in Seoul and work outside of it, not the other way around

So I woke up with a different mindset on episode 3. I feel like Da Hye came on the show thinking it would be her opportunity to win back Dong Jin. What I suspect is that the negative feelings Dong Jin began to have for all the sacrifices he has made in the relationship is what motivated him to want to be on the show. For some reason I'm not vibing with him anymore. Let me see what the later episodes reveal. 🫣 And yes!!! DA Hye NEEDS to stop crying!! Sheesh. She is killing me.

the level of detail in dong jin & da hye's letters after finding out their story hits soooooo much harder. it's so heartbreaking
