I am the owner of this banjo. My worries regarding such an investment for sound improvement have been quenched. I love the banjo even more now. Way more tone. I can play way lighter with my fretting hand and still get volume! Thanks Gold Tone!
Hi there! Great question! This particular banjo needed a full set up to begin with meaning the neck most likely was not properly fitted any longer. It would not have made a good template at this point.

It was an absolute pleasure, Ethan! Thank you for being a great customer!
Is the original neck for sale?
Nice craftsmanship. One question, why not use the old neck as a template to rough cut the new neck?

It's been years since I worked there, but I believe Chris was there when I was.
In my mind it don’t make since to change the original neck out like that. But to each there own
Just from a cost point of view, does this make sense?
Very cool - thx! 🙂🪕👍
