So I actually purchased 2 of these a couple of months ago for my kids. I ordered them so long ago because the delivery date was one of those windows for delivery and I was nervous about them not arriving on time. When they DID arrive, they were so crushed I knew that the fidgets were no longer in their spots, rendering the advent side of the calender useless. I tried to return them but Amazon told me to keep them and refunded my account. I'm thinking it was a common problem and THAT might be the origin of the low rating. I also think you purchased one that is of higher quality than the ones I received. I'm so happy for you that this one mostly worked out!
When I was a little grain, we had advent calendars with little pieces of moulded chocolate only. While not very exiting, I loved them far into adulthood. The biggest bonus was the cost - in todays money well under 1 $ / 1 €. Affordable for everyone, so even families with many kids could often get one for each child.
I like to get the ones at Aldi for €1. The chocolate in them seem to be the best of the €1 calendars. I'm really liking how a lot of companies are making calendars with boxes or drawers instead of tear-away flaps. I reused last year's makeup calendar and refilled it with things from Euroshop for my friend this year.
I used to adore those! My mum always got ones that, technically, were pretty garbage, and the chocolate would never come out of the moulds properly and was rarely very good quality, but right up to about 5-8 years ago (I'm 37 now), I still got one every year, and each day I would alternate who got the chocolate. One day was me, the next was mum, next was dad, then back around. I know half the time it tasted more like plastic than chocolate, but somehow, it was never Christmas without one, and it somehow managed to taste better than any other chocolate, even with the low quality. I need to look for one this year, I think....
Along with the glass shattering sound byte. I think that's epic. Toss something over her shoulder for trash, as the item hits the floor *glass shattering sound byte*, *nod*. Absolutely epic in my opinion.
I grew up with home made advent calendars. Mine was a reindeer and present embroidered one where my mother would tie small presents to loops that were scattered around on the embroidery. So some days were candy and other were small toys/figurines. Nothing beats the home made ones for me (since all the nostalgia and it being a family tradition)
I have a homemade Halloween advent calendar. I used a hanging jewelry organizer. Colored a small pic to go in the front of each pocket and placed candy behind the picture. No kids in the house but my SO and I like it very much.
My mom's been getting the same tiny jam advent calendar for a few years now. Every Sunday in December she'll make crepes and we'll taste test the jams from the week. It's definitely one of my favorite seasonal traditions!
as a kid I grew up with advent calendars but generally just the ones that came with a little square of flat chocolate with some sort of different holiday image on each (& my mum tended to eat mine since I was more interested in seeing the images than the chocolate - still not really a chocolate fan). As an adult I am now exploring the realms of alternative advent calendars. This year I picked up 24 days of cheese from a local farm which so far has quickly became my favourite. Other cheese, Beer, hard cider, and tea advent calendars I also have had in the past most were pretty good.

I'm creating an art advent calendar for my 4yo godson. I've been collecting stuff throughout the year and I'm very excited to start putting it together! It will probably end up being multiple boxes that he opens up each day. I got him some paint and his first set of paint brushes and I'm going to create coloring boards by doing outlines of pictures with acrylic paint on canvas board and leaving one blank for him to do whatever.
Best godmother ever!!! Will you adopt me too? If you're looking for numerous boxes you might try dollar tree. I remember having one of those puzzle balls when I was a kid. One day my grandpa was playing with it and one part came off. He felt so bad, because he thought he broke it, so he glued everything together. I never got another puzzle ball after that lol
That’s hilarious! 😂 Did you ever tell him it was supposed to be a puzzle ball? I think he might have felt rather worse knowing his ‚fixing‘ was what actually ruined it, lol, poor guy

Haha I love watching Jackie’s enjoyment of these fidget toys 😆 Also your cats might like those little spikey balls, obviously just make sure they don’t try to eat them, my cat doesn’t try to eat any toys, but I know some cats try to anything 🙈😆
My parents make their own advent calendar. They bought an empty wooden one, buy one lego set per kid (it used to be 3, now it’s 1, just me) and fill in the days. I really love it tbh
I feel like I need a Jackie T-shirt that says “I know what I said. That’s not what I meant”. I do that all the frickin time and can’t stop laughing everytime Jackie says it 🤣
Kind of looks like they took some of the money that was going to be for packaging and put it into making sure their kit had at least some decent toys. XD Hey, not the worst trade off!
It’s actually really nice that they have alternative advent calanders with toys and stuff because then kids who can’t have the traditional chocolate ones can get one of these
I grew up with advent calendars, living in the UK. But all there was when I was small was basic chocolate ones that just went to 24 days. The chocolate ones have gotten much better now. But I think my favourite is a jewellery one I had a few years ago. I'd like to say the makeup one but most of the makeup in it was honestly on par with that play makeup you buy for kids, so not worth what I paid for it. I'm not the biggest chocolate fan, though I definitely have my moments, so I really love all the alternatives that are available now. This year I have a necklace one with different charms to collect each day. I'm going to put half of them in a box frame for my daughter that died. And keep the others so we have something to share.
I got a fidget advent calender for my niece to count down until school break. She's gotten some really cute items so far, including this jelly squishy apple that smells good, an infinity cube, a fidget spinner, and one of those rings that can be played with. It's been great.
My parents were the kind of people whose “advent calendar” every year was reading another part of the Christian Christmas Story that were these tiny little picture book ornaments made from cardboard… and we used the exact same one every year. Mom liked to have a little bit of fun with holidays but my dad was a bit of a zealot who hated every “commercial aspect” of holidays and it really made it difficult to enjoy a lot of these kinds of things, so I am living vicariously through these videos right now.
I remember coming by your videos years ago and how annoyed i was by everything! Nowadays you are my favourite RUclipsr/creator. Without you knowing, you have saved me multiple times and you never fail to make me laugh on a bad day. Your humour match mine perfectly and coming home to watch your videos is the highlight of my day. Stay amazing!
When I was a little grain the only option was chocolate ones. They have become popular that big companies do them now. My favourite now for my little grain is the ones that come with books 📚
My little grain is 4.(boy) which one would you recommend? I've only ever gotten him the chocolate ones. I didn't even know all these different ones existed!
I love that she isn’t phased at all by the pop it’s while other people would go ballistic for them lol and the way she says “that is colourful oh that is colourful it’s a fidget activity thingy magig” makes me laugh
One of the reasons I really like watching you is you try to be environmentally-aware of things, like not dumping glitter down the drain. You've noted a disappointment in companies that use an excessive amount of plastic, going above and beyond to over-wrap everything in their package with it. So I'm curious - is there something you could do with some of these fidget toys to repurpose them? Perhaps personalize the dreaded keyboard keys and make them a unique gift for someone, or yourself! You're amazing and I like your face and I hope birb is doing well too.
I'm also shook it had such a low rating! It was so great! Ofc some things were horrible quality but depending on the price you can look past that lol. The massive tree at the end is so cool, not the best for fidgeting but so cool to get a massive reward from the advent calendar.
I love your videos I actually really enjoy them Keep up the hard work by knowing you have to do a lot of editing So that's why I'm telling you this merry Christmas
We have a wooden advent calendar that someone in my family puts a parent approved note in there with an activity written on it, from milkshakes to movies and games.
Here in Sweden we also have a show on TV every December, it’s called “Julkalendern” (The Christmas calendar). It’s different every year, but always have a Christmas theme. And after every episode there is a after show where they open that days number, and you open yours. There is a picture related to that days episode inside. You can by these calendars at your grocery store. When I was a child this was sooo much fun! I even look at it now as a grown up woman but I don’t by the calendar😁
just finished Evan and Katelyn and the giant light Saber now time for an amazing video from Jackie!! my day just keeps getting better! love the salty grain community!!❤
Another country away from where I live, They sell advent candles as my grandparents went to that very country they got a candle for us, and for themselves. It’s our first time trying it everyday on the count down until Christmas we will light the candle on bit and it has numbers 1-24 then says ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’ every night starting from the 1st of December we will light it until the number burns off until we can’t burn it any longer. It’s in the middle of our fireplace and we are all going to take turns lighting the candle 🕯 (we will still have calendars) we have just put fairy lights up around the living room/ lounge/ family room. We are going to decorate on the weekend. Your so hilarious and you made my day better today (I was happy but she made me even happier) you always make me giggle I haven’t ever been bothered to comment, but I want to say I live how environmental friendly you are and your so aware about plastic and other harmful items to the ocean. You also spend your money so we won’t have to loose ours and be sad with our purchase, just by posting you are doing a favour to the world, and RUclips community. Every single one of them.
It’s funny, because I’ve lived my whole life in the US and never knew that advent calendars were even a thing until I was almost done with high school. Even then, I only learned because of RUclips. I didn’t realize they were that big of a thing, but apparently a lot of people in the comments grew up with all sorts of them. That’s super cool, It’s just goes to show how different traditions can be even in the same general area.
I love that she is spending her money to make sure we don't waste ours. it's so sweet. My sister would love this she loves fidgets. Now I do have a question, Where is Sika she would have loved this.
I can just hear GraveyardLoon making up a story about prehistoric, parasitic plants that reproduced by releasing spores that would be breathed in by a Parasaurolophus and becoming pea-like future plants that would move through the flesh and muscle until the small orbs reach the skin and produce a growth that eventually bursts and releases the next generation of plants. 😱
My family has a reusable tall house shapped advent calender. When I was little my mom would put little plastic miniature animals/themed figurines (like the ones that come in plastic tubes organized by theme) when we were older we'd get candy and sometimes money
This calendar didn't deserve 1 star. If I'd ordered it, I'd have been happy with the lot, the worst wasn't that bad... The 2 puzzle bawls were the worst I think, honestly. I'd have given this a *4 on 5* score, stars lost for the packaging (frustrating) and the repeats/low-scored items. Seems solid enough and would likely be really enjoyed by children. :)
@@4yoylecake I suppose - I'm one of those "If I paid under 80$, got all the items and they were all decent-to-great quality/use, it's a 4 regardless" types. I might mention in the review that the item was damaged in shipping and there's no refund option, but these things would only matter to me if the whole box was sh1t or the items were damaged themselves. My sister would likely agree with you though, she's far more strict. :'D
I found it on Amazon with 4.8 stars from 103 ratings for $32.99 usd. :) It has a few different designs you can choose from that vary in price a bit. I want to get some for my kids, so here's hoping husbee goes for it. 💗
30 crafter I’ve watched all of your videos never mind the throaty are meant to crafter it just doesn’t do I don’t know how to type okay I’m sick leave me alone
My boys like to set their fidget spinners on a table & spin them (they're 9 & 5, so their hands are still small), so I feel like the octopus pop-it-spinner would be a definite win in our household!
I've gotten advent calendars before, I REALLY liked the Chocolat Favoris (because higher end chocolate) and I'm a tea drinker so I've gone for the David's Tea calendar several times. The one the disappointed me the most was the Squish candy one, I just wasn't impressed with the candy selection, which is strange since I do enjoy their candy...
I mean I've had an advent calendar all my life but like...I didn't realize there were disposable ones until a few years ago. We have a wooden one, and my parents always got candy for it every year. 31 years, and I've still never paid for a disposable one lol. Edit to add my soul left my body when you called disposable cameras vintage lol

I never had them growing up, but as an adult I've become fond of them. I get the Funko pop ones. I've gotten two Harry Potter ones, a Nightmare Before Christmas one and this year I have a Pokemon one. But there's literally a picture of everything inside on the back so I'm a little sad the mystery is gone lol. But the little Funkos are so cute. I'm excited to open the Pokemon, they look like they're going to be adorable.
My parents bought an advent calendar with tiny little pockets with nothing in them, and we would use them every year. My parents would wright something that we would do that day (ex. Make cookies, snowball fight, craft ext.) on a little pieces of paper and we would hold them to that promise DRASTICALLY, even in unreliable circumstances 😂
Although it's nothing to do with the rating, my thought when you were opening up the box was whether or not a third party company was bulk buying and redistributing fidget toys from other companies. It could be a reason for it to get taken down.

My parents make their own advent calendar. They bought an empty wooden one, buy one lego set per kid (it used to be 3, now it’s 1, just me) and fill in the days. I really love it tbh
Did any one else notice that there was too eights on the calendar
4:04 Oh I love those ones!
6:41 Ooh, that looks cool!
7:25 Okay, the more you open, the more impressed I get!
Shut u.p
I enjoy these advent calendar videos☺️ I’m 21 but still get an advent calendar every year from my mum! This year it’s a jewellery one ❤️
I'm 35 and my mum still buys me one 🤪
I feel like I need a Jackie T-shirt that says “I know what I said. That’s not what I meant”. I do that all the frickin time and can’t stop laughing everytime Jackie says it 🤣
Someone needs to send Jackie an advent calendar with puzzles and cabochons with plenty of doubles 🤣
Ohhhh evil
I love the Maria Elizabeth plushie in the background! So cute love it!❤️
I actually love that ur a adult fidget channel. It's kinda nice to feel I'm not the oldest around coz it's for me :)
Kind of looks like they took some of the money that was going to be for packaging and put it into making sure their kit had at least some decent toys. XD Hey, not the worst trade off!
Agreed!!
@@nerdecrafter wow you replied I've never seen you do that that person who you commented is so lucky
I think it should deserve 4 stars or at least 3 the only problem
is that there’s some duplicates and it’s hard to open the boxes
Love your videos!
The fidget controller actually has bumps on the side so if you just wanna quietly massage your fingers
Waouh, even with those repeats, it deserves more than it's rating 😮
I got a fidget advent calender for my niece to count down until school break. She's gotten some really cute items so far, including this jelly squishy apple that smells good, an infinity cube, a fidget spinner, and one of those rings that can be played with. It's been great.
whered you get it?
@@dominiquedugas2854 Amazon!
Oh gawd. I watched this with headphones on while working and the bug scared the heck out of me!
My Grammie makes my advent Calendar every year, she’s done it since I was a baby, and I love it every year
❤️❤️❤️
I remember coming by your videos years ago and how annoyed i was by everything! Nowadays you are my favourite RUclipsr/creator. Without you knowing, you have saved me multiple times and you never fail to make me laugh on a bad day. Your humour match mine perfectly and coming home to watch your videos is the highlight of my day. Stay amazing!
When I was a little grain the only option was chocolate ones.
They have become popular that big companies do them now. My favourite now for my little grain is the ones that come with books 📚
They have book ones?! What?!
My little grain is 4.(boy) which one would you recommend? I've only ever gotten him the chocolate ones. I didn't even know all these different ones existed!
@@meghanhixon3241do you know know what your child is into?
I love how surprised she is about the gaming control it’s so cute! ✨(idk what it’s called)
I love how she just has Kirk and Bakugo siting in the background
I love that she isn’t phased at all by the pop it’s while other people would go ballistic for them lol and the way she says “that is colourful oh that is colourful it’s a fidget activity thingy magig” makes me laugh

I JUST NOTICED THE KIRIBAKU PLUSHIES IN THE BACKGROUND AND MY FANGIRL HEART WENT "SQEEEE OH MY GODDD"
“I like your face…” 😶🌫️🤯👁👄👁
Yea I like your face
I'm also shook it had such a low rating! It was so great! Ofc some things were horrible quality but depending on the price you can look past that lol. The massive tree at the end is so cool, not the best for fidgeting but so cool to get a massive reward from the advent calendar.
This is my fav video from your channel
It's not even December yet and these advent calendar videos are making me wanna buy some...
Technically they need to arrive before December so we have to review them early!
@@nerdecrafter Ooo yea that's a good point
Yes I agree
Holly Carp !!! This was a great advent calendar Jackie ... Really Enjoyable !!! Thanks for sharing !!! - 👊🏻 From 🇨🇦
OMG, the fly scared the heck outta me. XO
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the Elias Plush that Jackie has on her shelfs in the background! God I love Ancient Magus Bride
Universe: "Jackie is ready to be salty, let's mess with her by making it actually good. Muhahaha"
just finished Evan and Katelyn and the giant light Saber now time for an amazing video from Jackie!! my day just keeps getting better! love the salty grain community!!❤
With the spike ball type green thing if you have multiple like 3 or 4 in one hand. OH MA GERD IT IS FEELS SOO GOOD
It’s funny, because I’ve lived my whole life in the US and never knew that advent calendars were even a thing until I was almost done with high school.
Yes.. time to watch Jackie suffer once again 😈
The Dino with peas bursting out of its gut is disturbing 😂
I can just hear GraveyardLoon making up a story about prehistoric, parasitic plants that reproduced by releasing spores that would be breathed in by a Parasaurolophus and becoming pea-like future plants that would move through the flesh and muscle until the small orbs reach the skin and produce a growth that eventually bursts and releases the next generation of plants. 😱
Me: You opened 18 for 8. 8 was right next to 9.
Jackie: YOU SAW NOTHING!
I would give this 3 stars, one loss for the packaging and one loss for the repeats/useless skateboard.
My family has a reusable tall house shapped advent calender. When I was little my mom would put little plastic miniature animals/themed figurines (like the ones that come in plastic tubes organized by theme) when we were older we'd get candy and sometimes money
I love how I haven’t watched her for a while but she hasn’t changed (in a good way) and now I start to watch her every time she posts
My youngest daughter has been BEGGING for a fidget advent calender! Thank you for reviewing these so I know what I'm getting in to! Lol 😆
I love how the 1. One was better than the expensive one
My daughter got the same one and loved it! We didn’t know about the rating but she is so happy.
From reading the comments, I've seen that some people are saying it came damaged and unable to refund though, so maybe like 2-3 stars out of 5
@@4yoylecake I suppose - I'm one of those "If I paid under 80$, got all the items and they were all decent-to-great quality/use, it's a 4 regardless" types.
Gosh, these postings pop up and disappear from one day to the other 🥲
It seems like the one she found that was similar that was shown at the start had the same items as this one too.
@@nerdecrafter omg hiiii

This makes me feel better and justifies all of my unnecessary purchases 💀💀
When I was younger, my mum got me a sock Cristmas Calender, you got a new pair of socks every day. And it was the greatest thing
Overall a very nice advent calendar product wise! I think a lot of people underestimate the value of fidget toys. Very nice video❤
Jackie, I swear, you're the cause of so very many oddball impulse purchases on my amazon list...and that's brilliant!
My favorite advent calendars are sock calendars, they're soooo good and I get one every year
I always look forward to a Jackie vid when I'm getting ready for work. Gotta have my daily dose of Salt!
Jackie, we need a Playlist for advent calendar!
This 24:27 made me laugh so hard, you’re the best Jackie!
My boys like to set their fidget spinners on a table & spin them (they're 9 & 5, so their hands are still small), so I feel like the octopus pop-it-spinner would be a definite win in our household!
I just went through a lot of dental pain today and your videos make it sooo much better. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Get well soon❤️❤️
Omg! Thank you soo much
I've gotten advent calendars before, I REALLY liked the Chocolat Favoris (because higher end chocolate) and I'm a tea drinker so I've gone for the David's Tea calendar several times. The one the disappointed me the most was the Squish candy one, I just wasn't impressed with the candy selection, which is strange since I do enjoy their candy...
Last year, I had 3 AVN calendars, because I had one for my dog with dog treats. In it. I had a mini Brand one and a chocolate one
I love how she nods every time she throws something🤣
I mean I've had an advent calendar all my life but like...I didn't realize there were disposable ones until a few years ago. We have a wooden one, and my parents always got candy for it every year. 31 years, and I've still never paid for a disposable one lol. Edit to add my soul left my body when you called disposable cameras vintage lol
A lot of products end up with a low rating if a few people have bad shipping/delivery experiences with the product even if the product itself is fine
Yes a new video! I’m so glad to be a grain. BRING THE SALT!✨
If I had bought this I would give it 3 stars. And my favourite fidget is the mochi I don't have it in real life but I really want them 😔 because I live in Nepal and I am a fan of ur videos 😁😁

That's a sweet idea☺️
Although it's nothing to do with the rating, my thought when you were opening up the box was whether or not a third party company was bulk buying and redistributing fidget toys from other companies. It could be a reason for it to get taken down.
Jackie, you say your salty all the time, but you are sweet for making sure we don't waste our money.
