I started following your channel because of the great repairs you've made to that machine, and bought an old bobcat in part because of that. So simple, not much to go wrong, no $4k hand controls to replace. Your price is in the ballpark, and your excellent maintenance makes it a good deal. Best of luck!

darn, you sure take care of your equipments, good package price if I had the money I sure would buy it from you....
great video, good luck selling it, John, whoever gets it got him a real good deal....
Good video! for a old machine its in very good condition. i recon you will sell it for good price and deal
Nice looking machine and attachments. I feel that is priced to move.
That is a really good deal! Hopefully you get her sold . I'd hate to sell one like that old tank!
I wish I could buy it!
John, I can't believe you have such low ballers complaining about your price, you're loosing a lot of money at that price, the only thing wrong with all that equipment is it's old and not used much. My Bobcat equipment has the paint peeling too and I might sandblast and paint someday but everything is still solid and I sure don't want to sell any of it. $20k is a fair price for such a package. You could get more if you sold them separately.
I think 20 grand is really steep, you could buy a 2012 s185 for 25 grand with 1000 hours on it. Here's proof www.machinerytrader.com/listings/construction-equipment/for-sale/list/?Mdltxt=S185&Manu=Bobcat that machine is out dated and has way less power than a newer machine. I get there's other things like a trailer and attachments but for the machine by itself I think you could only get 8 to 10 for it. People seem to think these machines are worth more than they actually are and no doubt these machines will last forever but so will newer machines for the same price. We have a 2004 s185 that has never broken down and has almost 5000 hours on it. We also have an 843b and that thing is a tank but is very slow Jerky, loose boom and tons of other things. I'd always buy a newer machine unless the price for a machine from the 90s was right
CouragesPusykat that machine has almost 2.5x the hours and has only 1 bucket. And no trailer... the attachments them self are worth about 7-8k another 1-2k for the trailer. And a low hour well kept machine... it's the right price.
FishFind3000 you only looked at the first machine, if you scroll there's one with 750 hours for 23 grand
Gordon Robertson I agree, you could get more if they were sold individually, but that's a lot of time and effort put into it. Remember, that steel is old, the motor is old, pumps, chains, etc. it doesn't have high hours, but it's still an older machine and it's just not feasible to use it hard 10 hours a day, day in, day out. I put a price list in one of the comments and my assessment is fair value for both seller and buyer.
The kind of work that you mentioned is not what anyone looking at older equipment would be doing. If a buyer had 20 to 40 hours a week regularly they should be able to buy something fairly new, or maybe John's equipment only as a back up and for the attachments. I already have my equipment for my part time, occasional work, but this deal for me would be hard to pass up if I didn't. It would be stupid to buy new or next to new equipment for as little as I use them, and I use mine a lot more than John does, you can see that on my channel. Thanks for the reply.
It’s a c series made from 1994-1997
00:40 You got it!
I'm been looking at equipment prices for some time now and 20k is a good deal for all that. And it's low hours.
I hope someone locally feels the same way. I don't often put things on the market because I don't like the process. I won't settle for less on this one.
Try trouble shooting one of those new fangled machines.
CTSCAPER no need to be a smart ass about it 🤔 I agree at first it seems high but when you look at all he has done to it and we can see how well it's been maintained and super low hours for the age ! In my opinion this is a better machine than a lot of newer ones ! Simple to work on in comparison so to me it would be worth the money especially with all the attachments !
CTSCAPER that was meant to be to the other guy not you sorry lol
CTSCAPER you rarely need to they don't have problems
Buenas noches, me gustaria muchondel.contenido en español sera posible. Saludos desde uruguay
still got that rusted plate that you replaced for the cab?
No sooner you sell the equipment and you realize you need the equipment on a job, and to find out that you can't find the attachments when you go to rent the bobcat Always happens.
It wouldn't surprise me. I can do most of the stuff I do with the Bobcat with my Dingo. Just slower. As long as I can rent a tractor loader backhoe for the big stuff I can take care of the details with the Dingo. I still go back and forth on selling it. It's like a part of me.
I would seriously consider just trying to drum up at least a few days of work for it a year. You should be able to drum up a solid $500/day for it. A payee off machine is a beautiful thing, hate to see you do something you regret.
I'll still have the Dingo for my work. I use the Dingo a lot more than the Bobcat. I'm going to regret the decision no matter what but the fact I went as long as I did without having a reason to change the oil was a sign to me.
CTSCAPER I totally understand, i have a skid steer too that sits a lot, but when I need it, I really need it. I'm actually looking for a mini skid as well right now as it's so much quicker to move to residential jobs
I agree that a larger loader is great to have. I bid two jobs this year that included using the skid steer, not digging a trench but landscape jobs, and I didn't get either. The last time I used the machine was last spring installing a new lawn. I just can't justify the machine as much as I enjoy it.
CTSCAPER totally understand I have a 10 wheeler log truck with a loader that I haven't used in a few years too, going through the same thing
Bobcat 763 w/bucket-$13,500
709 Backhoe-$3,000
Rockhound-$2,500
Forks-$600
Nursery Jaws-$900
Trailer-$1,200
Total-$21,700 is right on fair market value.
Thanks for that! I want to buy it myself it's such a good deal. :-)
Do you still have it? If you do I’ll buy it
would you sell just the landscape rake?
Still available?
Is it still for sale
Did you sell this ?
Check me out if you ever get a chance ct, I do a lot of the stuff you do, and I'm right by you in nj
price
What! NOOOO!!!! You better be replacing it with something way cooler...
I wish. Can't justify having it and I feel like I'm selling one of my children.
Do you still have any of this for sale?
Yes, I have the Bobcat with 66" Bucket, Backhoe and Trailer. Visit landdesigns.com and use the contact form to get in touch if you'd like to talk.
did you end up selling it?
I decided to hold onto the machine and backhoe for a while. The Rockhound is still for sale. I got very frustrated with the people calling me and figure it's not worth the waste of time for now. I'm keeping the machine knowing that it's not going to be a money maker for where I am right now. The sad part is I did sell my pallet forks and I will regret that if I ever get work for the machine.
its a really nice machine and I love watching the snow removel video you have clearing your drive way. I'd hold on too it too haha
Funny thing is I bought a snowblower because I thought the Bobcat was going to be gone. Video to come. It is a nice machine but holding onto it will cost me some money for hydraulic hoses and who knows what else. I couldn't touch the replacement cost for that machine these days.
CTSCAPER why not ask the dealership to sell it for you. You could always ask the salesman to move it for you and throw him a commission. When I sold my Dozer blade attachment I wanted $2,500 and he sold it for $3500. I let him keep the extra, so it works out well. I had the great idea of plowing snow with it and I was grading streets at the time in the summer. Trouble is it tore up the asphalt in the snow because it's designed for dirt. 😂.
That's a great idea but I once brought a bucket to my local dealer asking if they wanted to sell it and they looked at me like I was crazy. Perhaps it was too small an item or I was talking to the wrong person. It felt to me like they only wanted to be involved in selling their stuff. Again, it could have been a mistake it the way I handled things.
