I bought one of these sometime last year and I love it. It's my go-to home defense shotgun. I put a reflex sight on it and it operates like a dream. Best $250 I ever spent. Worth every penny.
I recently obtained one of these. A nice-looking gun, and seems to be solidly built. It is heavier than a Maverick 88 and similar shotguns, and thus has less felt recoil. However, mine came with a defective peep sight [turned out to be missing a screw]. I e-mailed SDS about this, and they promptly sent out another sight, which I easily installed on the gun. I am happy with both the gun and the customer service.
That's good to know about the customer service, will make a point to mention you and your issue if and when I make another video on this shotgun. Bought one to keep in my truck for a knock around shotgun. I am truly impressed with it. I too ordered all the extra accessories from TOKAREV USA. I screwed a Benelli extra full Turkey choke in mine and with Fiocchi 00 buck it is a demon at 40 yards! All nine pellets can almost be covered by your hand. It’s a 7" to 8" pattern all day long. Now the Fiocchi 00 buck is the only buckshot I’ve found that will pattern well through extra full choke tubes.
I just bought two, almost got all three on the shelf. I run slugs and buckshot mostly. And I have rifled choke tubs for foster slugs. When I need empties I use target ammo with an aut6 thrower and shoot, reload and shoot. The barrel does get toasty so the heat shield is actually useful, plus it looks good and the wood sealed the deal. I've had and still have Turkish shotguns and they work,,pumps . And ghost ring sights are also a plus.
I just bought two of these yesterday. One in 12 and one in 20 gauge. I have roughly eighty guns, but I never have owned any shotguns until I bought these two. Brought it back to mint condition and it can even be used to provide protection from rust on all the metal parts as well. You gotta try it!
Just got the Marine coat version. Feels good in my big hands. I think it's heavier than my maverick 88. Got the 1+ extension tube. I like that I am able to ghost load most 2"¾ shells. Question for you. The choke already installed in the shotgun from the factory, can it shoot slugs or do I have to take it out first? Thanks for the video.
Never shoot a barrel threaded for a choke without a choke tube installed. You will destroy the threads and wont be able to insert a choke again unless you have it repaired by a gunsmith. The only choke I would recommend NOT using is the the smallest choke size. Also if you ever shoot steel shot dont use the smallest choke because with steel shot it doesn't change when fired like lead shot does. You can shoot slugs but over time it will wear out the choke and make the choke size bigger. The barrel wont explode but it isnt good for the choke. So yes, use the other two bigger choke tubes for slugs. Hope this helps ...

13.5" ... quarter inch, shorter than "normal"
How about spare parts. Do they sell them. At some point its going to break. I always buy spare parts with each gun i buy to have on hand just in case. Ic if breaks its only good ax a paperweight.
They said that when they designed this they had parts availability in mind and thus far I've not seen any on their website. They have a 1 year warranty so their warranty repair service is useless really. I have no idea about parts ....
The only Turk gun I own is a Girsan...because it's an exact clone of a Benelli M2...All these Turk guns have no parts & horible warranty.........It's dirt cheap,so look at it as a "throwaway '.....if it breaks, toss it !!!
@@georgeheidkesr1759 Girsan is a good shooter, friend has one. I liked it a bunch. My favorite 9mm is a Canik TP9SA I shoot often. I like the Turkeys!
Where can I get one all i can find is out of stock
I use Gun Engine when I search for firearms. Lists trusted websites with links, in stock or not. www.gunengine.com/search?q=tokarev+tx3&type=Guns
can they slamfire? they look a bit like a model 1897 so i was just curious
No, they cannot but I did buy it because it looked like a Trench Gun. Thanks for watching .... and maybe someday I'll own an original!
@@megatrends we can only hope!
It’s based off the regular Remington M870 but it looks way better
@@irondeathgaming9032 Yes, I have another "Clone" all in black that is fun to shoot also but I prefer this Tokarev model. Thank you very much for watching, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The stock meet up to the frame seems kinda meh.
The good news? It isn't a a problem since I straightened it out by loosening the bolt and then adjusting it properly like they should have at the factory. As for fit and finish it is ok, not the best agreed but not terrible and the shotgun sells for same price of just buying a nice stock aftermarket. The shotgun is only $245 so this is a great buy in my opinion.
@@megatrends I think I heard you mention it being misaligned when you got it. I don't think, I do think it's a nice looking gun.
@@nimbly1693 It's an above average shooter most importantly ... I've been shooting it every weekend despite owning other shotguns. Hioghly recommended.
just bought one &270 sstill good price
Awesome, hope you enjoy it! Im still using mine most of the time over my other shotguns. It is fantastic... enjoy and thanks for watching!
So my stock came cracked, I didn't notice until days later that I picked up from the FFL SDS Imports sent me a stock, and when I replaced it, noticed there's no metal shim in between the stock and the receiver. Is that normal? I had been watching videos on other stock replacements, basically to know how to do it, all videos advise the metal shim is needed. This one doesn't. Anyone else with a cracked stock?
I didn’t have a shim on mine. Glad they replaced your stock …. Very good of them.
Question: I just got mine and I added the extention. I got 7 plus one in the gun, 2 3/4 shells. Is this possible?
Yes it is, basic target rounds I can and "better" ammo not so much. Strange huh?
When I first heard about this brand I thought to myself wow are we really getting shotguns from Russia. Haha.
That's funny! The Tokarev Rep in a video on RUclips said he likes to call it Turkeyrev.
Haha I like that!
It’s not Russian it’s Turkish. I have a handgun and these guns are actually what the Turkish military uses as well because they are sturdy and reliable. I’ve had my Tokarev Handgun for 2 years now and not a single problem. I torture tested and and even did a extensive rapid fire test and it just will not jam or mess up.
I am on the fence on this shotgun. A bayonet lug would do it for me.
The bayonet lug is being sold by SDS Imports on their website for about $25 as well as the tube extension needed for about the same price. Other places online sell tube extensions for the Remington 870 style for $100 and up just for the tube and the same for the bayonet lug so this is a great buy.
Pick-guard?
Yep, I'm a guitar player and a human being. Thank you for noticing .... thank you for watching.
@@megatrends No prob, I'm a guitar player currently on the other side of the Atlantic - I would call it a scratch-plate ;)
You forgot to discuss the country of origin,it's confusing it says tokarev thinking it's made in russia then again it says USA.
I didn't "forget" per se, I just didn't mention it in this video. I have a couple of others and do. The sales rep for this actually called a "Turkeyrev" lol.
That transition from stock to receiver 😬
Loosened it and reset it, it's fine. Shoulda been caught at the factory though. Everything else has been just peachy awesome.
