Reminds me of the time I found a bug when working as a ticket sales and service agent at the Swedish metro system. I reported it since the bug was connected to the cash machine. I talked directly to the CEO, they were happy in the beginning and then fixed the bug. But then later on I found out that they wanted to fire me, reasons of which I am still baffled to why. Lesson learnt, never ever think you are doing a good deed. F*ck the system while you can, else they will take you down for being the good guy.
Exactly. Yet the people running the banks get away with everything they do. If you are ever in the hackers shoes, withdraw a couple million and move to Russia.
That just shows you how corrupt the Fiat Banking System is. Serge was doing a service for them and the responded with criminal charges, yet he acted ethically and that was not challenged in court? Smfh.
he point a vulnerability. it cost them money to replace all that machine and cards. it is petty of the banks to punish white hats. this sounds like origin story of some supervillain.
It's insane the way hackers are treated as criminals even when they are doing the right thing. How is he responsible for the bank or card maker's mistake? All he did was discover, show proof and report. All this does is encourage people to keep quiet and exploit their discoveries.
Sometimes, being a good guy can land you into problems
It’s always the case in France
Not sometimes, but ALWAYS!!
If the system is set up to be bad, good people will always lose.
Stealing is never good on your resume when asking for money from banks -

Totally unjustified 😢
And the lesson learned is don’t help banks
after these all I am thinking to become computer genius 😂
Ah yes... Bureaucracy 🎉🎉
Happens a lot to Indians nowadays! So many talented people getting robbed of their jobs
I’m shocked to find the banks have screwed over the guy trying to help them.
SEASONED!!! 😭😩
Justice on france
Your videos are interesting 😶👾
And had he placed it on the dark web
*does the right thing.... Still gets arrested and jailed .. insane 😅

No good deed goes unpunished
Never have morals when dealing with institutions that have no morals.
Did he at least get a reward?!
Yeah rewarded with a jail sentence for actually doing the RIGHT THING!
@@chanmoney5711 doesn't that make you lose faith in "doing the right thing"
Yes, The reward was a very valuable lesson!
Yeah 10 months in prison
Yet another example of punishing the good guys.
LIke you guys make Serge Humpich famous make similar kind people famous
France being France
Like any real hacker, his only crime was curiosity.
with banks you lose
the banks cry out in pain as they strike you

Should have posted the info. Now the fool has a police record
Never help banks.
As the Ferengi rules of acquisition say... No good deed goes unpunished
Thats what happens when you trust the thieves
The good old motivation to follow the law
