I really like Consort Jia, she may have been cruel and scheming but in the end, she has always wanted a simple life and being free. Her scheming was more for her own survival and to protect the ones she loved.
    Also the actress is amazing.

I always love how understated and subtle Ruyi's dress is. Look at the way she is dressed versus Consort Jia, and how Imperial Noble Consort Huixian used to dress. Always the biggest headdresses, the most jewels and gold, the most decorated fabrics. Meanwhile, Ruyi does dress to her status, but it's clear that that's not where she gets her power.

The way the eunuch calls her Noble lady is like adding salt to injury lol.

Li Yu is the best eunuch... always with the, "Oh, something I forgot to mention..."

Well compared to her tormenting the harem, her getting used is nothing and I actually felt good about it. The Emperor should have punished her hard after it's proved she framed Ruyi but he let it go, he only got angry when jia planned to get rid of him.

Them are the facts. The fact he didn't nip it in the bud in the beginning Jia wouldn't have been so bold to go after the Emperor. Might've thought twice.

He couldn't punish her hard because her clan was providing relief aid (grains, food for the soldiers) to them during the war. That's why he couldn't punish the Prince as well, just let him off with a warning. He explains that later to Ruyi wen he pans to release her again after confining her for half a year

He had to fix what the Yu clan has been doing. And it didn't help, they kept begging him on their hands and feet to be friends with them again. Only when Jia's child did that 'set-up' is where he finally had enough and I think he cut them both off.

@BlackVenus interesting that these clans practically used their daughters as collateral to manipulate the Emperor.

Prince of the Yu Clan and Lady Jin remind me of Romeo and Juliet. They never married, but that scene between them was at the level of that.

The more I watch this the more i really feel sorry for Ru Yi 😢 and it seems the emperor really didn’t know her because
everytime some make up conspiracy was made to frame RuYi he’s always beleiving it 😡😡 and not even defending her from the get go. I understand he’s the emperor and can not just say “Hey I dont beleive my wife did this becasue that’s not her personality “ but come on!!! I can’t even count how many time she;s been frame 😡😡😡 Well i guess it is a well writen story line if it’s getting me so worked up 😂🤣😂🙋🏾‍♀️🇨🇩💕 I’ve watched this 3 times already, and every time i get more upset than the last time 😂🤣😂🤣

Lady Ling finding joy in concubine Jai not being able to raise her children! Especially when lady Ling will endure the same fate!!
When you rejoice as others suffer, you will be welcoming the same pain or worse to be at your doorstep tomorrow!

Ling should’ve stopped when she was ahead. She was bullied and mistreated by Jia and some of the other consorts before the Emperor recruited her into the harem too. Seeing Jia going down should’ve been vindication for her, but she insist on going full blow psycho.

Concubine Jia's pleading reminds me Consort Nian Shilans from *The Empresses in the Palace* when she was begging for her brother's life. Both actresses did so well.
Funny, how Lady Ling is the one standing now that Concubine Jia is on the floor 🤣🤣
So..the Yu Prince did love Jia but he sacrificed her for Korea. He made her into a pawn and she was sincere to him all her life.
    You tell her Ruyi 👌
That baby didn't deserve to die though.
Edit: Consort Shilan was from the Nian family.

If he really did love her, why did he turn and walk away, though? That's harsh.

@@CocoCece08 As far as I could tell that he put the love of his country first. He no longer wanted to be dominated by China and had to give up Jia as the cost. Him showing any feelings towards Jia publicly would've been the confirmation to the conspiracy by the Yu clan for the throne. I mean Hongli was more than suspicious that the Yu Prince forced his wife to commit suicide around about the same time Jia tried to remove Ruyi from her path? It's not a stretch to imagine if Jia had succeeded the Yu Prince and her would've restarted their relationship quite possibly after killing Hongli prematurely. Ooh the possibility.

@@sandra5teen Yes! I don't know why I called her Comsort Nian Gao. I think she was from the Gao family? I'm rewatching the series slowly but as far as I can remember wasn't her brother called General Gao? I maybe wrong though.
