The Best performance ever. To be frank this national master piece can only be good performed by Chinese because only those who understand Chinese history and harbor a strong patriotism can express the deep emotion of patriotism and tenacity in the music.
I have enjoyed YRC since the '70, 50 yrs so far. National pride and concerto achivement combined. I dare say Chen is impresive and assertive among the top piano artists showing off this gem👍
I really admire the Composer of this magnificent Piece. it sounds so majestic yet so hopeful at the same time. If only the composer can hear how popular his masterpiece is today.

A great performance of a unique concerto. However, what disturbed me was the dirty-white of the keys for about five octaves. I have never seen such a filthy keyboard ever. A small nit-pick but surely that is caused by poor maintenance of a beautiful piano😞
I might be wrong but I think that the ivory of the keys react to skin oils and turn slightly yellow with age. It's a mark of a vintage or antique old piano...nothing to worry about...if the painist is not worried. Just listen again to the heart-rending first two movements, and cry along with me!! Great Blessings on China and its wonderful music.

But of course I don’t have connections to context or any sort of reminisce that people in China probably have to it. However it’s a good showpiece for the pianist.
I was thinking the same thing while listening and then around the 4th movement I clicked over to the video and saw all the traditional instruments in the orchestra. I think the intonation is from the traditional chinese instruments, not the piano

年輕時買這首曲子和梁祝專輯，超愛，後來壞了，巡遍大台北找不到，有網路了，有人上傳，感動。
第三樂章黃河憤的引子，這版本的笛子玩得最具陝北風格。是自1970年首演以來，所有其他笛子花招百出，就是玩不出那種連音時顆粒化的效果。讚！
喜欢他表达出来的音乐，感动！
記得首次欣賞陳瑞斌的演出是在香港荃灣大會堂，是香港愛樂民樂團成立30週年音樂會（待查），陳瑞斌演奏的曲目也是《黃河》，印象非常深刻，因為他彈的非常震撼，以致我的老繭手掌都拍紅了，不騙你們的！當然當晚還有黃安源的板胡與樂隊《花梆子》，全場爆滿（待查）！恭賀香港愛樂民樂團！
听了十遍后已经听不到钢琴，听到的是灵魂的低吟与高亢！
富有感情的演奏总是能触动人心！

前奏琶音之後的主旋律那幾個斷音，他故意用敲打式的彈奏，很特別，有一種中國傳統樂器音色的感覺，卻說不上來是哪種樂器？
總之，令人印象深刻。

陳瑞斌手是受傷了，手指斷掉過，裡面打了鋼釘。原以為表演生涯就此結果，經過超過兩年以上的復健，才重返鋼琴彈奏。
所以他的音樂會，每次表演我都佩服！
