These long form breakdown / thought process videos are literally perfect. Please don’t ever change the format. And my love of street fighter is just a bonus

Could you make a video that’s more in depth about character costumes? I have a lot of trouble putting clothes on characters and just don’t understand how it works very well. It would be really helpful, thank you.

This is so helpful in learning multiple aspects of drawing not just anatomy and figures but perspective and much more 👏.thanks for making this content its a big help to alot of us in the world. Also I'm a big fan of your "bomp-bomp" idiosyncrasies

Thank you so much for these videos Tim! I challenged myself to draw for at least 14 days in a row practicing something specific to improve on, and succeeded! Your videos were definitely an inspiration and excellent guidance. So far I've been working on basic shapes in 3D and in perspective. Seeing you break down a complex character slowly and methodically, while explaining your process makes it feel so much more doable than just looking at a finished piece or a speed draw. Eventually I want to start combining these shapes to build characters, people and environments - so everything you're doing is exactly what I could ask for!.. outside of just asking you to keep making these videos when you have time of course haha.

I enjoy your videos, we are nearly the same generation, I enjoyed pencilling a lot during my time at architectural department of university of applied sciences at Vienna (TU Vienna). I watch every day if you have new content. Just brilliant. Thanks a lot.

Hi Codex.. it's important for an artist to be realistic about what they want to achieve as an artist, if not they'll never achieve anyting.. thanks for your inspiring words..

If it’s still in the theme of Street Fighter please do Dudly. These videos are amazing and they have helped me a lot. Right now I can draw a picture that I see but I can’t draw from reference if that makes sense. I can draw exactly what I’m looking at but I can’t take a picture of Zangief and come up with a different pose and draw that character. So videos like this have helped me tremendously. Thank you.

Thanks! Yeah connecting hips and legs is a good one. I’ll see if I can make a video covering that and the torso perspective.

Yep! Most of the difference is gonna come from the posing and face. The hulk is more angry :-)

I was watching a video of yours that you posted last year (along with all your other videos) and I have a few questions and one disagreement:
    1. Did you keep up with that goal of completing a sketchbook a month? I've been seeing a lot of artists discourage drawing everyday because of burnout etc and even discouraging people from doing studies and learning fundamentals so I'm always intrigued when I hear someone make a goal like that
    2. Do you know of any other artists that have a similar style to yours? I'd like to see more art in this line and color style. I found that many of the popular artists have 'overly rendered' art styles which is fine but not something I want to draw
    3. I'm having a problem with what I like to see vs what I like to draw. I like to see thin lines but I love drawing expressive thick lines with a brush pen which means that I'm always somewhat dissatisfied with the end result. I'm not sure how to overcome that. I love the process of thick expressive lineart but the final product of thin sketchy lines. I think that instead of trying to find my art style, I'm trying to learn to love the style I already have
    4. The disagreement: you keep saying in a lot of your videos that the Loomis method is better for constructing from imagination and that you can sort of bs your way with drawing realism from photos etc but I have to disagree. Learning how to construct the head and using those techniques have greatly improved my realism to the point where I can't imagine how difficult it would be to not use a method like that. It's easy to claim bad anatomy is your style if you're drawing cartoons but you can't hide behind that when doing realism (I do both). A graphite drawing done with a grid can take dozens of hours over the span of days but a charcoal drawing with basic construction can be done in 45 mins with the same amount of detail.

Ok but when he;s whispering in my ear like this how am I expected not to fall asleep? Artist who teach drawing/painting have a tone in their voice when teaching and they get so focused on what their doing they stop talking and do the work, it triggers my brain to fall asleep😅
