In British style militaries like the Canadians, Australians or New Zealand military bands yes there are drum majors but the Defense Forces intentionally try and take their military structure/traditions from the U.S military.
Im pretty sure its by Colonel Fritz ("Fitz") Brase, am german bandleader who shaped irish military music after WW1. He often used tunes of irish folk music for his marches, sadly I dont know the marches name, sure sounds like him though.
@@123brownjames Not at trooping the colour they wouldt be. Nor would they even go to it in the first place frankly the whole parade for your commander in chief the queen dosent sit well with an independent nation who fought to break away from said royal control.
I'm always afraid of the Army when they're marching like that. I could see the soldiers in the shop and it doesn't bother me but marching like that or Driving them big things freaks me out 🙄😏
Don't worry Carol the drivers are all very well trained and tested. And the marching soldiers leave all the bullets back at base so there won't be any accidents!
I really wish there were more videos of the Irish Army Band on here.
I will try and film more performances over the next year or so. Sometimes there are copyright issues though. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you. It's a very enjoyable band to watch.
No kidding! Please More!
Truly inspiring well done lads
Fantastic video, thank you for capturing this event!
Thank you. Best wishes.
@@karlmartin2698 No worries and thank you!

Do the bands not have drum majors ? I mean Isn’t the man leading the band the director ?

@Jamie Well military bands in US military did have Drum Majors which this position were usually held by NCOs

I have no idea. If any viewers have could you leave the name of the march as a comment? Sorry Evan for the delay in replying.

Ist "Sarsfield's Men", and I its by Fritz Brase as I presumed.
Evan O'Herlihy the first march is Wellington by Wilhelm Zehle, a very popular tune in the British army, as for the second one I’m not sure
Wow very nice!
Glad you enjoyed the video, Matthew. The band were really impressive.
GREAT ARMY I WAS THERE 54 to 56 PIPE BAND
Looking forward to the day that I see this in Belfast!
I actually died of laughter when I saw that.

@@jamie8032 because they be welcome to Britain now

Not bad, though they need to seriously pick some percussion instruments with less decay, it bleeds all over the rest of the instruments.

oh you poor thing!!
good marching, best wishes from the UK.
Lol ‘so scary’
Not good. Irish guards and the Royal Irish Regiment does it a million times better. Rule Britannia!
Personally I never pass judgement on the individuals in either the British or Irish forces - I respect anyone who serves in either.
@@karlmartin2698 I see. Oh well, they played the Wellington march and it ain’t bad
Lol I bet the army still use that rolls Royce because it’s so shit
The Rolls Royce Armoured Car is part of the Historical Fleet its used for ceremony's.
@@oisinmtom surprised they still have it, thought it would be ‘too British’ for them
