My Dad is a Retired Teaching Pro, And he has had the Same Irons for 20+ years and I convinced him to get the 714 ap2, These Clubs are Amazing, Most Accurate Irons I have ever used, And The best part, Is they're Very easy to work the ball!! And its a Bonus they look Incredible!!
I've played KBS Tours for a few years now, and they've been so good to me, I'm at pains to change. But at nearly 48 yo, I'm starting to get some aches and pains now and then, so I thought about going over to Steelfibers or Recoils. I think the recoils are closest to KBS Tours rather than Steelfibers, but its so hard to get to try these options. And the upcharge is hefty I think. Obviously Recoils aren't available yet, but even getting to try Steelfibers is near impossible in the fitting carts.
Found your swing again I see then Matt? Lol. Got the price for the 714's from John, so thanks for that. I'll be swinging all the usual suspects next week with my Pro, so I'll make a decision accordingly, dependent on what works best for me. I am trying to get him to get a hold of some Aerotech Steelfibers for me to try. Also I'm under the impression that Titleist could be offering the UST Recoil shafts in these in the near future (at a price I presume).
I'd always advocated the OEM's still send out the fitting carts, as is the system now. However, it would only cost the OEM's around £25K to have the full selection of one of each shaft at their HQ. This stock of shafts could then be used by the retailers as a kind of 'library', whereby retailer can ring, on the behalf of the customer to order a shaft for him to try, exactly like a library, then when finished, the retailer sends it back to the OEM, to be stored and used whenever needed again.
Hey Matt... Could you do a review of the 712u driving iron? I would like to know what you think and who do you think could really benefit from it! Thanks
Yeah, its always been a bit of a bug-bear of mine, many of these OEM's offer all these shafts as Custom options then make it so difficult for the consumer to try, and to be fit from them! The carts are only so big at the retailers, so can't possibly carry them all. Even at the National fitting centres, they only have a relatively small proportion of the shafts available. Seems nuts to me. But with the graphite lighter shafts becoming popular in irons, I'd have thought something could be done.
Hi Matt! I'm looking to do a custom fitting pretty soon and don't really know Wich irons to hit. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to hit these. Wich irons do you think I should hit that would fit my hcp. I currently play off 17,5 but I can see myself coming down to about 10 in 2014, so I want a forgiving iron but not with maximum forgiveness. Please answer.
I can imagine there would be losses, damages etc. So can see your point. Mind you, if some of these OEM's can afford to pay 1 Tour Pro $25m a year, I'd have thought they could soak up a few minor losses for the odd Golf shaft now and again, don't you? I can't see the point in an OEM offering a shaft as a Custom option with no ability or desire to offer it to the Customer to be fit from. I've brought this up with OEM's, and they all just shrug their shoulders. Lol. Gotta love em eh???
I have hit blades for nearly 10 years now and wasn't hard changing to the ap2 714. Looks like blade. Feels almost like a blade and performs like a blade with added forgiveness. No brainier.
Fuck me.... slow down!! trying to watch this video, its like its on fast forward, your running around, pushing the club right into the screen then quickly taking it away! Are you on speed?
