I kind of love this backstory actually. It feels like an in universe fairy tale. A small act of rejection made the nut so mad it became a love sucking evil. I almost like it better than if someone broke her heart. Really gets the point across how wrong she is
This gave me a better understanding of her biography even though it may not be 100% canon. Last night, I've been having ideas of writing a MLP AU fanfic that's focused on a romantic redemption arc for Queen Chrysalis and it features my pony OC, Windy Breeze. Since then, I was watching a few Chrysalis related videos including yours for purposes of fun, lore, and opinions about her potentially being redeemed.
What was the name of the story? I thought you might have been talking about ‘ Queen of Hearts’ (good read if you are interested), but there is no windy breeze OC in that one.

Some crack theory: The story Chrysalis told Twilight was an interpretation of her true origin. She may be a plunder seed once planted by Discord on the battlefield next to Crystal Empire. She absorbed pieces of pony skeletons and umbrum(This can explain lack of bones, insect-like appearance, unicorn powers, and lust for love) and once, risen from the snow and witnessed a rise of umbrums. Here Chrysalis and her newly acquired Hive started their journey slowly becoming monsters walking on the land of Equestria.
I like the theory on origins the Queen, I just wished the show and comic meshed the stories. Case in point Celestia is the reason why the queen looks the way she does in the comics, where in their first meeting at the wedding Celestia didn’t seem to know who the queen was. A good fanfic the covers her origins (unfinished and possibly dead, but still a good read) ‘I Chrysalis’. This was written fairly early in the show and a lot of what changelings abilities and societal structures are wrong based on the show & comics, but did in imaginative way allowed for an expansion of changling abilities at that point. Given the imagination of such world building and character development one wonders why more fans aren’t given writing positions for the show. Fans thus far have given better narratives then professional staff have, though I will grant that writers are making a show geared to a young audience, but Hayao Miyazaki as well as countless other creatives have proven; kids can handle content with depth to it. This is predicated on if they are allowed to be exposed it.

I believe she can be reformed as seen on frenemies. chrysalis rejected starlight's offer because she does not want to lose her pride and identity, and it's understandable. losing one's self would be scary. but she does not have to change who she is in order to make friends and fit in. there's all kinds of ways to be friends. sum are kind and sum are grumpy. pinkie pie is friends with a donkey who is like the grumpiest person ever, we have seen more smile's from chrysalis then from him. if he can be like that and still make friends, there is no reason chrysalis can't too

Not what I expected. I thought the changelings started off "Harmonic", like Thorax is now and helped regulate the emotional magic of Equestria. Then there was a time of troubles, the ambient levels of harmonic magic dropped and Changelings were starved, started cannibalising any love they could find and degenerated into their black carapace forms.
spoiler alert the final page of seaason 10 idw comic chrysalis is seen breaking free from her stone prison i think she might be the reason for the events of g5. Edit i was wrong

let's say it ! But nobody want to say it , so i will say it. Queen Chrysalis is the strongest character in mlp franchise. Her ability to absorb love is unlimited so magic is infinite. Accept this all ponies. listen to your Queen and serve me. Long live the queen.
Nice lore video! I think Chrysalis the most evil villain, though. Sombra is a tragic villain in the comics, and even in the show he doesn't show nearly the same sadism that Chrysalis has.
How chrysalis always gets defeated with love whether it be by Shining Armor and Cadence or by Thorax it was like they were saying food is her weakness that sounds like a fat joke which would be funny if she didn't look so malnourished.
