Just discovered Skippinish, the story of this song and thankfully, the news about last year’s decision by the Authorities to cancel enforcement of the prohibition of fishing from these waters. 😅. Good for you Scotland!!!
Arriving 2 days after 1st April and the "anti-banter" law that now makes me nervous to be myself when in a pub drinking....what were we talking about? Something about "puppets" in Holyrood?
@@rosemarycuthbert4623 “Saor Alba” is incorrect. To especially use incorrect Gàidhlig, in a setting where many of us are Gaels - to further your agenda, is poor form. Imagine approaching Māori and saying “Ora Kia” not “Kia Ora” would be irresponsible… if you’re going to try and use Gàidhlig in a setting where Gaels are, then have the respect to at the very least, research the correct terminology.
The Clearances Again A wonderful, creative, heartfelt song and video, reflecting the sentiment and community spirit of decent, hard-working people with a rich traditional way of life. Hospitable, good natured, generous and welcoming to the core, which I'm very grateful and privileged to have experienced first hand. 🙏 Congratulations to you all, on the success of this production and the delivery of your message.
As an ex-trawlerman it brought a tear to my and anger to my heart to see what a "Scottish Government" intends. I did not join the fight for independence in 1967 to have our rural and island communities treated in such a manner.
Let’s blame the mainlanders from the central belt fighting for self determination and vote Liberal Democrat for the likes of Cole Hamilton who thinks that Scotland as a country shouldn’t be allowed to exist. Aye right. Let’s accept Westminster rule
Och well the toraidhs supported you in Holyrood. Devolution is dead. Aye vote toraidh lib dem and to hell with the mainland folk fighting for independence. Saor Alba
there's never been a song with such meaning in a generation.
Well done Skippinish, great message and song

I love Scotland! I am coming back!
Powerful lyrics set to a good melody - the hallmark of a great song. Well done
Walked around Cullen tonight with the super moon out the most stunning coastal village in Scotland
Loved this by Skippinsh! It's a song to get people thinking about islands getting isolated from mainland
Love this song and the Gaelic version. Obviously got the message to the puppets in Hollyrood.
So you would rather be ruled by Westminster Toraidhs

So you would rather lie back and accept London rule. Sad. Saor Alba

WOW what a song
What an amazing song.
Beautiful......
Great song and I can’t help but think that it galvanised opposition to the SNP utterly idiotic scheme to limit fishing in the waters of the Hebrides.

Break with the Greens. They devised the HP Marine Areas.
Let's vote for London rule instead

I nGaidhlig a seo níos fearr.
Och well the toraidhs supported you in Holyrood. Devolution is dead. Aye vote toraidh lib dem and to hell with the mainland folk fighting for independence. Saor Alba
I am sure that liebour and toraidhs will be keen to represent your tights
Meant rights 😂
I like to have a Visitation to Your Country, but time will bring it or not
Aye let’s vote Lib Dem who will clearly look after our interests. Aye right
The alternative to the so called puppets in Holyrood is Toraidh rule from Westminster
