Bought these in 265/35/19. The DWS06 + is the lightest tire in that size and it also has a 35% stiffer sidewall than the original version, a tire I went 1 and done with because there was too much sidewall give. Recently I replaced my OEM wheels with a square 19x9.5 set of light forged wheels. They are 10# lighter than OEM rear, 9.5# lighter front despite being 1" wider than OEM front. Combined with the lighter DWS06+, unspring weight was decreased 12# per corner rear and 11.5# per corner front. Thanks to the massive drop in unsprung weight, handling, braking and ride are all better and Dragy shows a .2 second improvement in 0 - 60. There is some compromise on dry grip vs a max or ultra performance summer, but it's minimal. I don't track my car, so would never reach those limits on ANY of these tires and frankly don't notice it at all. Considering the DWS06+ can run 365 days a year vs only above 40 degrees for max / ultra summers, that's an additional 4 months here, we don't get much snow, but it's cold late fall through the entire winter. If I have a couple knocks, both have to do with aesthetics. Issue #1 - tread pattern. I have them mounted on a high-powered sports car and the tread pattern doesn't look sporty (in my opinion), it's definitely function over form. Issue #2 - tread width. The tread is 9" which is about 1/2 inch narrower than most max / ultra summer tires, I prefer a thicker looking tire, but it's a very minor thing. With the better compound and 35% stiffer sidewall, these are a big improvement over the original DWS06. Tire Rack testing found these to be the best all-season tire you can buy and in light snow conditions, they are significantly better than any other all-season tire. There's an old saying "Jack of all trades, master of none" but that doesn't apply to the DWS06+, because compared to max / ultra summer tires, it doesn't give up much in dry conditions, it's better in wet and it destroys them in light snow. I'm very happy with this tire, subjectively and objectively, it delivers on so many levels without requiring any significant compromises. For most drivers, even those who can sometimes engage in spirited street driving, this is an ideal tire.
I’ve had these on my 335i with staggered 18” wheels. Amazing blend of everyday comfort, wet traction and enough grip for any backroad I’ve taken. Imo, the Michelin tires in this category give up to much in daily driving to be worth the extra noise and reduced ride comfort. These tires aren’t on your race car, be honest on what you’ll use them for.
Hey, I'm sticking a set on my Grand Marquis. When you've got a 4,000# rig and haven't lost your enjoyment of performance, finesse, suspension work and great tires can do marvelous things... In a car designed to be a couch.
I’m putting them on my 2is350. The last summer tire I had was the Hankook ventus v12 evo 2. Those were very very good and shared the same qualities as you mentioned so I’m excited to see how these compare
conti 06plus on my w212 e63s, So far so good. Pretty good handling feeling compare to the old p zero summer tire. It also reduce the cabin vibration on the road.
My Cinturato P7 are almost toast on my Sportwagen after about 20,000 Km of Summer driving (using Nokian in Canadian winter). Never was impressed with the thread life and wet traction on the Pirellis. Getting the DWS06 plus installed soon!
I have the older version (not plus) on 2011 Lexus RX 450h. With 50k warranty, I was able get another 6k miles out of them. These are out of stock (235 55 19) every where except for eBay :). I just gave up and had to chose bw Firestone destination Le3 and Pirelli scorpion all season 3. I went with Pirelli coz of all the reviews (about them being quiet, comfortable and great in wet conditions) I came across. I am just praying that Pirelli matches the extreme contact experience.
I just got the dws 06 plus on my g37xs sedan 225/50/R18. So far compared to my old as3+ it a bit smoother and quiet than I remember the as3+ new. The as3+ did provide heavier and sharper steering feel. But both tires are awesome but dws 06 plus feels more like an all around tire where as Michelin had more of a performance edge
@@philipjacob2314 hmmm thank you for this. I’m surprised the newer dws06+ cannot hang with the older as3+. The as3+ has been superseded with the pilot sport 4 AS. Now I might just get the extremecontact sport. Only bad thing is it’s a summer tire so can’t drive when it’s 40F or lower.
@@Phuong_Nguyen_ I never liked the summer tire, on my golf r 2019, came stock, too soft, and nowhere near any good in pools of water at high speed, I took the stock summer tires off the R at 1200 miles, and put the Extreme contact DWS 06, which are now at 51,000 miles, of superb performance , they are great in heavy rain, no feeling at all of hydroplaning, at any speed, the summer contacts would feel twitchy on the first heavy rain, off they came, I actually gave the summer contacts to the dealer someone can use em, i don't like em. Once you go Extreme DWS, ya don't go back in any season. Getting the 06+ put on next week to replace the 51,000 miles 06. They still look to have a few thousand more miles left in them, but ya don't realize how worn they are until ya get new ones, and feel it...they wear slow and steady, they are perfectly even wear all around, on all 4. Excellent tires. I don't understand why VW or others would send new cars to the northeast or any cold climate, with summer tires as standard, the 2 GTI's I had earlier came with all seasons, the Golf r came with summer continentals, weird. cus in cold weather they are useless tires
It probably depends on the temperature. Summer tires at 40 degrees begin to have a substantial fall off in performance. All seasons when it's super hot can feel a tad sloppy. Like they say in their videos it's not about good and bad and often about tradeoffs and use-cases.
suspension problems, not tire fault! I have over 50K miles on my Extremes DWS 06 still holding up well on my VW Golf R 2019, have used all iterations of Extreme contacts over the years, great well built great performer, long lasting tire
@@cengeb nope, have had the alignment checked multiple times, have replaced struts and shocks, swaybar end links, bushings. The car is very well maintained. If there’s a suspension issue causing it, I’m baffled what it could be at this point. Mazdaspeed 3’s are prone to cupping rear tires. It’s only the inner tread blocks where I’d see issues, which is the area of softer compound. Suspension is completely stock. So far I’m seeing much better life out of the dws06 plus.
Check your suspension. These tires have always been solid and never cupped, feathered or given me premature wear at all. I'm on my 4th set and now looking to get the plus tires and give them a shot for my 5th set. Also a breeze to align and set them up properly to give me a very even wear. I rotate them religiously at every 5k miles. I am a mechanic though, so take it for what it's worth.
@@scrapin definitely a suspension, rotational, balance, wheel or vibration issue. Not the tires. Do a road force balance and make sure you get with really good mechanics that are worth their salt.
100 - 120 in the rain is nothing for this tire …..never hydroplane or lose reaction in the rain and I’m heavily boosted ….in and out traffic with ease 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yup, great in pools of water at high speed, never flinch, great job in wet, I will be getting the 06+ installed next week to replace my DWS 06 with over 51,000 miles on them, still have lots of tread, but I change em out, before they get way low, tires matter
how do they feel at these higher speeds in dry weather? I’ve heard some say they feel like jello. They’re my #1 choice right now when replacing my current pzeros
@@jeffrey-f I’ve never experienced a “jello” feeling …in my previous post above I was in a q50 now I’m in a amg with the same tires and I have a very very heavy foot 😅

Performance wise 1-10?
Hello im looking to buy these tires
Can you tell me if they are loud or make any sort of humming sounds
My original DWS 06 are almost wore out, looking at getting these. Hopefully you get the winter test in before mine are completely gone.
how many miles and what type of driving?
