Nicely done! I don't usually buy other peoples sounds, but I may just have to pick this one up! Even though I have a Waldorf Quantum, I still love my Microwave XTk... it just has a certain grit to it.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the sounds. The XT remains one of my all-time favorite synths. After nearly 20 years of owning one, it still makes sounds which I could never predict.

@@angelos808 I'm sure it's worth the price, the sounds are great. I don't have an XT though! My question is more whether it's worth getting an XT? Is it relatively easy to get such nice sounds or does it take a lot of programming? Does it have a wide sweet spot?

I have a quantum MK 1, and have been putting time into it lately. I love your example of the XT , which I have not owned or played. I always wonder if there is a big difference between the two synths, or any of the other Waldorf synths . I always wanted an XT. Just listening to the sounds you made make me wonder if I could get the same sounds, or if I could never get those awesome sounds you are producing. the thing about the Quantum , is that it is very fat and beefy , due to the analog filter? I actually have to try to thin out the sound sometimes to get it to fit with other synths. not a bad thing at all. I'm just rambling about it , but this is just a thought from a Quantum owner. Great sounds you are getting from the XT. very very nice.
Hi Jim. Thanks. Sadly, it won't work on the Microwave I, only on the II, XT and XTk. Visuals are generated by a program called Magic Music Visuals running some open source GLSL shaders (for starfield effects etc).
Quick question- found an XTK 30 in my area for $2,500. Is that a good price? Obviously, I'm gonna try to get it down a bit because I dont really want to spend that much.. but, what do you think? Thanks. Great sounds!
30 voice XTks are quite rare and don't come up that often. $2500 is high, but it's a seller's market. My suspicion is that prices will only keep rising.
It's high but they are VERY hard to find. A standard one is heading above $1500 easily. Personally I think the 30 voice is fantastic because you can have long droning sounds without cutting off tail ends. I found my XTk30 local and it's a keeper.
I just picked up an old XT for £700 though. It’s not mint but seems to be working alright. Other XT I’ve seen selling for around £800-1100. XTK seems to be a lot more for some reason.
@@rozz3r Can you get any of the modern wavetable synths to sound like that? The demos all sound so dry/vst like, this has a beautiful kind of liquid gooiness to it.
@@atom9249 Not easily. You can get close, to a point. Making 8 or 12bit wavetables will give you a lo-fi vibe, but there's an inherent warmth and smearing to the early Waldorf sound that seems to be unique. It's one of the reasons I won't part with it.
Must have for all XT/K owners !! Buy that set... you won't regret!!
I love when I’m watching something and I go to like it and see that I already did years ago
This video should be released as a commercial music album. My go-to for night bus rides.
Great demo all around but 12:00-12:55 just ends it all. That's it, that's the sound. Holy god.

Microwave....Lucky to have one you are!
Thanks for the great melodies. Now I want this synth.
What a gem , we'll done! Love your sounds 👍👍
Sounds incredibly unique and otherworldly. I think I might get a Waldorf M!
After seeing the Microwave II/XT emulation that's in development (Xenia), I am buying this soundset.
A glorious instrument.
❤ love this, should have never sold this beast... it sounds out of this world really...
Such a brilliant video mate. Thanks for sharing, would love to have an XT one day ;)
Could listen to hours of this instrument

Sounds amazing! Did you use any limiting or compression on the master?
A limiter just to catch peaks, but otherwise it's direct from the synth. No additional processing.

Iridium is way more expensive… what about the M?

Any custom wavetable tables included with the soundset?
Hi, no new wavetables, it uses the factory tables.
Is the M compatible with this soundset?
It’s not. Sorry.
This sounds awesome! Was any external processing used or is it straight from XT?
Thanks for the nice comment, Tom. It's straight from the synth. No processing at all.

It's not unreasonable imo. Perhaps room for haggling. 30 voice XTs don't come up too often.
Nothing special. The patches I mean, not the synth.
