Elemental Leather thanks for watching. I wouldn’t call it a tutorial per say. More like a Build video. 🤣🤣🤣. Those are Wide guard quick release buckles. You can get them at weaver leather. Thanks for watching.
I like to keep them traditional as possible. All I did was reverse engineer the originals. So the post man slides are my go to. Thanks for watching. 👊🏼
Thank for watching. I don’t use patterns when I design my products. You can definitely find tons of patterns online though. Look up makers supply. Thanks for watching. 👊🏼
Jay and Tisha Lankford what do you need to know specifically? For starters, I get most of my hardware from Weaver leather. If you can’t find it at Weaverleather then check Strapworks. That buckle is called an alligator buckle or postman buckle or sometimes a cam buckle.
Jay and Tisha Lankford I like to use 8-10 oz for any strap goods. Skirting or bridle leather for straps. Weaver leather for all hardware. I specified in last reply. 👊🏼
Keep grinding! Your videos are really good!
Shared it on facebook to help out the fellow maker.
Thanks. I appreciate it. I’ll make more as new products hit the website. And thank you for the share.👍

Do you use a traditional postman slide or just a spring buckles on your chin strap?

@@SofieldLeather The reason I ask is because I'm having a hard time finding the postman slides. May I ask where you get yours?
@@bcfdt12e40 No worries brother. Here you go ---> www.strapworks.com/Spring_Buckle_p/sb.htm . I get mine powrder coated in Matte Black,
I made my first chin strap but I can't get it to tighten down without depressing the postman slide. Any advice?
Takes time to break in. Also needs to be pulled out laterally and not down.
Was wondering what size rivets you are using and what make and model are your rivet finishers (not sure of the proper name)?
Thanks!
Sorry for late reply. I use #9 rivets on everything. The setters are called Douglas Rivet Setters. You can find them at Rocky Mountain Leather supply.
Where can I get patterns to learn from or are they such things
