Maybe this sounds harsh if you don't understand finnish,and only read the english text, but it is not at all bad, it is also very much the tone in the finnish language how it is presented. Tarja is very honest here. I wish to listen to the whole interview.
Even though I was interested what she had to say about NW, but I'm kinda ashamed for these radio hosts because they pushed it too far. I think you should stop when you see that the one interviewed is getting uncomfortable.
It was so ridiculous and embarrassing to watch how they preyed on her... of course Tarja knows better and acted as classy and as chill about it as always.

@@LigeiaNoire Firing Tarja wasn't what made them rich. Tuomas is a genius in music, and has been making great music even after Tarja left. The other singers have been great in their own ways, and the guys can still master their instruments. So many good songs have been made even after Tarja left. It was a stupid move to kick her out the way they did. She said herself that she was already getting ready to leave the band and go her own ways, but they decided to do it before she could. It was a bad choice. But I wouldn't call them assholes as a whole. Everybody makes mistakes, some very bad ones too.

They made it in a very calculated way to generate as much publicity and gossip as they could and as I have said in some other comments, it worked because that's when they really became popular. Everyone was talking about them, even the president was asked about it. They were the talk and cover of every.magazine and forum. It was planned and for a long time. She told them a year ahead she wanted to leave, they took the notice and decided how to make the most of it. And yes i agree that they are the most famous they have ever been, however, the quality of the music decayed. EFMB was a recycled fest and the newer one is better but more like an Auri album. Of course tastes are subjective but to me, their uniqueness is gone and their golden era was in the past. I do call them assholes, firing 3 people in a coward way, grants them the title.
God damn it... Deal with it. She is gone from NW. Leave her be. She has what she wanted... Independence I can be more happy about that departure. Floor is amazing and Tarja is making her own carrier
Thank you for this! This was very interesting. I'm surprised they brought up some things,, it felt slightly invasive...but it was kind of heartening hearing her response, until the "long gone" part. I would never expect Tarja to become close/friends with any of the original band members again, but it would be nice if they could be on "greeting terms", like kind of forgive and let go of past, especially w/ Tuomas.
Never say never.. Just think about it: One more concert with Nightwish. Market it and sell shit load of tickets. Make a DVD called: "Once more" or "Last wishes" or something. While I agree that these may be silly questions, you would be surprised to know many Finnish interviewers ask them. Still to this day. This was a ~25 minute interview as a whole, this was just a small clip of it, so they did ask a bunch of other questions too. Also about her solo career. ;) And the whole interview seemed to have a nice vibe, Tarja seemed comfortable the whole time. Just wait until I translate the MTV3 interview. That was a horrid one. In that I'll agree with the silly questions and bad journalists wholeheartedly.

Tarja neighter goes for making money that way, nor is she missing anything about her time with NW, she is very clear about that in her interviews.
