Appreciate your efforts, as I wasn’t sure how to replace the lcd cable. Very helpful. I’m not sure what’s wrong with mine. The picture/display intermittently breaks up and mouse and keyboard does not accept commands. It’s a hand me down and it previously had the same problem. Replacing the cable corrected the condition. Thank You
Sounds like there was a break in the cable somewhere and it would sometimes separate and lose connection.
Brilliant. One of the hinge plates separated form the screen housing and had to get in there to re-glue it. Very well done! Thanks!
Glad it helped. If you haven't already don't forget to like and subscribe so others can find my videos. Thanks!
happened on mine too
what glue did you use to fix it?
i hate the fact that its glued together, should be bolted or riveted
@@anmolsaxena_ I believe it was JB kwik on that repair. Helps to clean and score the surfaces and after repair cured set hinge tension. Seems like those hinges are designed to get tighter with use so I always find a light tension and put a drop of loctite or superglue on threads to keep it there. Still holding. Good luck!
The kwik stuff is a lot weaker. Use the original full strength stuff.
Overall decent video. At 20:49-21:32 i think some slowed down detail is necessary to show the cable release without damaging the connector.
I show it on the older MacBooks and many DELL laptops. It's essentially the same. Did you need one of those? Or did you mean for future viewers?
Great job with your videos! They are very detailed. Can a higher res 4K replacement lcd be used to replace the stock 1080p lcd or are the connectors different?
The connectors will be different.
Loved the video very helpful!! I know someone asked but can I replace my 4k screen with a 1080p one if I also buy the separate EDP cable?
Glad you loved it. I'm not sure about using different screens and cables.
what is the actual model no of the screen, for my yoga Yoga 730-15ikb in hardware ID it shows as AUO20ED which shows as a 40pin connector and in your video the spare screen has the model no as NV156FHM-N3D which is a 30 pin connector, so which exactly is true and correct. my yoga product no is Product Number: 81CU000BUS, Bios Version: 7KCN33WWV1.14 , kindly help me thanks
Pull your screen out and check it. I'm not a psychic. Lol
Thank you for this video! Did you have to order the replacement screen from Lenovo? I found one on Amazon, but...
I ask because on an old Lenovo laptop, I had to get a replacement for the cable attaching the AC power adapter to the motherboard and the computer rejected 2 because neither was a genuine Lenovo part.
Usually I order screens from eBay or Amazon. Best if Amazon says free returns.
