Done it 3 times. no prob. just have to mark few places. last 2 times then I got timing kit, with crank and cam lock tools. a bit easy and more confident )
I agree !! He got lucky. I mark the belt with white pen, 2 on the cam pulley, and crank pulley and fuel pump. I also move them to TDC beforehand in case they move. Then tape the belts together, and mark the new with the same lines. No problems then.
Thank you for doing that. Which bolts on the serpentine belt are left threated? Only the two idler pulley bolts in line before and after the generator or all 3 pulley bolts and the tensioner bolt as well?
@@unicaproservice2826For Everyone's Information, both upper pulleys are lefthand threaded and the pulley on the tensioner has a normal thread, however, difficult to undo because of the use of Loctite.
in reality you only need manual if you mess up timing, the rest is "put back as you opened up" prinsiple. Drop me ur email İ will snap shot the parts u need
@@unicaproservice2826 - Yes. The setup for the cams themselves where you see them when the tappet cover is off as someone before me forced it with a wrench. My dodge is only starting if I spray quick-start in it. It is not getting a pulse from the injectors and the ECU has no error codes for the injectors or the diesel pump.
hello my name is Heber, I'm from Chile, I have a problem with a Wrangler like the one in the video. The problem is that by changing the time band, the camshaft sensor was turned and also the point of the camshafts was lost. I have the work tool for crankshaft and camshaft but as the sensor was turned it made me change the position of the cams and I can't find the position of the cams, I took out the valve cover and from behind the cam sprockets have their marks and match but I can't match the cams to the crankshaft. I hope you can understand the problem and if it is possible to help me a little please, thank you very much. Goodbye
hi. if its first time u r opening it, it may look tight. hold the pulley by inserting pry bar into the holes, and rotate the nut ccw. it will come loose. a good idea is to put some plywood in front of radiatot, so u dont damage it if wrench comes loose or so
this is the most reliable, powerfull and simple engine for me. electronics sucks a bit complexity wise but if you dont mess with it it will be fine. Ive modified a lot thou
if not gonna work on camshafts, not gonna change water pump, then no. be vigilant, swap belt carefully. If not experienced, then might get lock tools. 40some bucks on ebay.
@@unicaproservice2826 Thank you very much! 40 bucks for the lock tools sounds cheap though, might get them to not run into trouble. Changed belts on other cars, too, but they all needed a tool, e.g. DOHC cars.
Ahh very good! You're only the second video I have watched to run the motor AFTER fitting the belt! Brilliant! Thank you. Greetings from NZ
Timing marks? If it’s a tooth out expect bent valves or rocker arms

When pulley or other parts rotates in counterclockwise direction thread is make in the opposite side,

You are welcome. The lefthand thread is the pulley under the generator.

At 2:04, I’m trying to unscrew the big nut of fan, locking pulley inserting a screwdriver, but the nut is blocked.

I’ve tried to unscrew by a pipe wrench but I’d like buy the specific wrench; could you confirm that it’s 36 mm?
Thank you.

I have unscrewed the nut beating many times with an hammer (800 g) over the end of the wrench (36 mm - 42 cm).
