The most impactful change you mentioned would be the tether mechanic allowing you to grab surfaces but i feel like it’s unlikely. Changes id want to implement is with cancelling big form. Right now the cancel animation has a bit of lag before you can do other abilities, they should allow you to just cancel the big form laglessly with an ability. He could use it defensively like when he took the 1v1 against psylocke at 9:49 in tank form or use it offensively to combo (3 hit combo in tank form does 225 so stacking a dmg ability would kill 250hp heroes) or use it to chase someone with better consistency. Another change thats similar is to remove the unnecessary end lag off finishing the ultimate, ur already a big target while ulting so being stuck in the end animation is uneeded. Ults like psylockes have lower end lag and even let you cancel the ult so i think mr fantastic should get the same treatment.
Exactly, he has a lot of animations that slow down his kit, in addition to his bulk form interrupting your plays. I don’t even mind if he has low damage, because he is so strong defensively. It would be great if his big form was an ability that you could turn on and off yourself and with less animation lag.
If he could pull himself to terrain rather than just to allies it would do a lot to help him and i think his ult just does nothing, the numbers on it have to go up
I’m a fantastic main and here are some tips, forget you are a dps, stay in between your supports and tanks to give any one of them shield or jump back to any one of them, he’s good at being anti dive and also giving leading tanks more shield and pressure, if your with your team and both sides are together, aim for the back line and bounce back to your team if you get low till you inflate and take out their healers and dps, just go back and forth providing pressure and shield for your team and yourself, don’t spam his abilities, use them methodically, people say he is weak but just don’t know how to use him, and when using an ultimate use it when you are inflated state to stay alive and use it with your team around so you can cause distraction and have them scattered, and aim for the healers

People are sleeping on this hero. I’m winning 72% of my games in top 1% elo one tricking him. I really think this is a wolverine situation where folks haven’t figured out his optimal play style yet. His only major issue imo is his ult. 90% of the time it’s not worth using unless you’re in a tiny room and can spam it. It’s so bad I’ll sometimes just use it to get back to point faster or as an escape if my team dies
I think the intent with Fantastic is that he's supposed to kind of sit back WITH the backline/team and be a support/tank/dps hybrid. Jack of all trades master of none type thing. He can save healers from Blackpanther/Spiderman/etc by throwing out his E which gives the support shields, brings him into range to help, and then he just swings his arms around wild and drives off the dive. I'm not saying it's worth playing over other characters in the role I just think people are thinking about him wrong if they think he's supposed to be a front line bruiser.
The guy that can stretch his legs around the globe and they can’t figure out a movement ability for him. He could like slinky away. He needs that more than the deflect SpongeBob looking ability.
It’s getting pretty hard to explain these numbers I’m putting up. Not enough damage for dps not enough blocked for a proper tank. Truly sub par numbers I will still be going Mr fantastic.
I killed over 40 times as Reed in one match 3:1. The thing is he relies on his big boy combo. He is semi vanguard. When he gets bigger he has more hp and his damage also increases. The combo (getting big) is easier than actually killing a player. So it is important to use all these abilities as fast as you can to increase hp and damage and smash them alongside your teammate's vanguard
i think his primary fire should be the same on full extension, but then retreat as soon as it hits something, while still having that drag for whatever time it stays out. that way he can play closer with faster damage but further he still has what he does now, and also encourages direct shots. and i thought the e was going to be a grapple when his moves were leaked but apparently not for some reason. i have never seen a non-backline character who's unable to move independently.
Thor does more damage AND blocks more! Every time! He needs buffs I think and a swap to tank would make it less confusing. Obviously 2 tanks plus fantastic isn’t ideal if he’s on the team he’s obviously 1 of the 2 tanks
I'm very interested in how the final two fantastic four team members will team up with Reed. Invis woman has a team-up that seems to apply to all fantastic 4 team members in some way, based on wording, so maybe it will be the case that teaming up with Thing or Johnny will enable Reed in new ways in a few weeks?
I wouldn't worry about it. Look how people doubted storm and wolverine, they got buffed and now they are considered strong. He will get buffed and suddenly everyone will say hes broken.
He's not that good of a dps but he's a really good pseudo tank. His sustain and utility make up for his lack of damage and allows for a lot more consistent pressure, especially in triple dps or brawl comps. He's fun and interesting and contributes to the team's damage as a whole, softening up enemies for the easy kill and supplementing the Frontline
i kinda play Mr F like a tank, where id try to get in there getting my big mode up then using the wall to backup and get heals so i can stay in there. only thing i dont like is when ur in big mode u cant use ur abilities anymore besides ult
If your meter for going big mode isn’t high before you go in, you don’t have a disengage. If it is, you can essentially poke before the fight with your tank to build meter and then just go in and be disruptive. I would argue off angles are how you carry on every single character except this dude, since he literally has to be close to his teammates to get use out of some of his kit.
But they can just shred through your big form. Also he’s bad against dive because he’s too slow if he peels for his teammates then your overall damage and frontline takes a hit the only way to play him effectively is to go all in and hope your team has the right heros for that
I’ve been having a lot of fun on him but yeah, he just does no damage and really relies on your teammates to target focus with you. Or if the enemy team is very grouped it’s nice that you can swing your shot but moonknight would do significantly better in that scenario with more range and a much better ult
He's kinda got a vulture play style, like Storm. They buff their allies or increases their surviability and by doing so, puts extra pressure on the enemy team. However, their support alone does facilitate a kil. It's their support in combination with their own damage that makes them conceptually viable. Which is why the buffs to storms damage has made her top teir. I think Mr. Fantastic is supposed to increase the survivability of another teammate, typically a DPS, and build his elasticity. Then, his teammate either kills the enemy team w the inproved off angle, or he builds the elasticity needed to go into his buff mode, which does better damage. Imo, that's how id play him
they need to give him like a gum gum rocket jump to fling to an off angle or escape and they need to give you an option to forsake your tank mode to use a cooldown instantly. Pressing F and then shift or F and then E to finish of a 1hp squishy that snuck out of your range feels horrible and its too slow and gets you killed or lets the squishy escape to a medpack or a support for healing
Could you make a guide? I love this character so much and main him every game, your guides have helped me get to gold and I would love to see some more marvel rivals content, thank you so much for your help
I can see the vision. He is pretty much Zac from League of Legends just without any of the strengths that Zac brings to a LoL team. I am hesitant to say he is bad because that is what people thought about Wolverine too, but he does have the worst ultimate in the entire game overall imo.
I feel that Mr. Fantastic is misunderstood. He’s not meant to do a lot of damage in my opinion. He’s a jack of all trades it seems. He can tank a lot of damage, he has a deflect ability, he can shield himself and teammates. He’s a hybrid of all 3 roles in my opinion. I think he gets his value from resource pulling, keeping the pressure off his team, and being a general distraction. Not top tier, but not useless in team fights either
@ I wasn’t claiming you said he was useless, I was merely reinforcing my position on him. Sorry for the mix up. Very much respect you as a coach and a player 🫡
But you can be almost permanently in buffed mode if you hit 2 attacks + double e + mouse 2 (even on miss) if the buff mode runs out you press shift for 300 extra health and deflect and your cooldowns are back up again by the end of it. This slightly salvages the character imo, although not as a dps but more as a brawling sidekick to your tank to make space.
Except for the fact that a team running poke will still shred through you if you try that, and he has no kill power through support ults like other tanks (magneto, Groot, strange)
i’m 9-1 in ranked so far haven’t played much yet this season and my only lost was with a mr fantastic. He went like 3-7 first half flaming supports for heals and refused to switch off lmao
He only works in a team with 3 dps (himself included) and a tank like Strange. He's amazing in taking advantage of the chaos that your teammates create, but yeah, very low damage. I think with a buff he could be amazing
Think of him more like an off tank not a full dps. His off angles are more based on his health pool/tankiness and ability to survive and less about being able to get in and out quickly with maneuverability and burst damage. He does way more damage to groups as well so his kit isn’t focused on being an ambush predator or sniper. Honestly they should have just made him a full on tank.
I can see the intention of Mr Fantastic being an AoE of consistent dmg to overwhelm the enemy. But realistically in ranked, he will rarely get that moment to swing at 2+ enemies. The only time I feel comfortable using him in ranked is with the team up to self heal. With the team up, I can go in more aggressively to position myself between multiple targets.
Mr fantastic gets value from standing there like a brick wall. He’s very hard to kill if he just stands there and eats bullets with shift, but it’s not very fun and has 0 carry potential.
Why would you do that as him when you can play magneto? Hes the best character at that and he has a good ultimate. If you do that with Mr fantastic you just lose to poke comps
Still one of my fav characters to use Hes also good for stalling for a lil And I was thinking for buffing his ult he does like three normal slams then the final slam is both his fists and it does ALOT more damage
I feel he can enable a lot of healer by playing as a soft tank but the damage is awful. But for comps with more mobile characters and more than three healers he is good. I tried running him with a sue a storm and a mantis and it was really good cause you feel inmortal and mantis helps a lot with her damage and ccs
I don't agree. You want to force him into a playstyle similar to other dps heroes that doesn't suit him, but that's just not how he is supposed to be played. Like Peni is unique vanguard, he is unique duelist. I'm sure he will be figured out and something like wolverine will happen. Or more accurately, something like Storm, because he probably will get buffed in some way and people will look his way. I'm not saying he surely will be top tier or whatever, but definitely better. I don't know what would be optimal, im not a top player, but here is what i think. I think he should be played in "middleside" (behind tanks, in front of supports, as a default, not at all times, but mainly). (Rather than at the front, diving, or backside) and play to peel supports from divers in back side. or to take the frontline for a little if tanks go to low, to let them time to refill. He is a stabilizer like this, in my eyes. And I have found it pretty effective and consistent, actually. But as I said, someone in high elo, with actual skill needs to try and apply this to prove it's real effectiveness.
i don't think this is forcing him into a playstyle that isn't his own, having his e be a grapple is a great qol change. i have never seen a non-backline hero in the game who can't leave by himself. on top of this, even peni can disengage if she needs it, and so can wolverine, who are both "unique". half of all the backline heroes can get out by themselves too, save for adam warlock and maybe mantis. it's insane how much of a disadvantage it is to not have an independent movement cd.
@@bluecrood2720 you aren't supposed to engage, and you aren't supposed to be alone. Peni is a vanguard that isn't supposed to be 24/7 front lining, getting hit by all the enemies at once, pushing forward, creating space. Usually tanks do work like that, and someone narrowminded might think Peni is horrible vanguard because she can't do that, and ask for buffs for her to be able to do that. Wit mr fantastic is the same, but instead of face tanking as a vanguard. Engaging/being alone as a duelist.
Awkward what you are saying perfectly encapsulates how I'd expect mr fantastic would play from a character design perspective. Like you'd expect from his design that mr fantastic would have great mobility and that his e would attach to walls. And then when it doesn't it betrays your expectations in the worst way. One thing I'd add on his ult on top of the damage buff his design signals that you are alot more tankier in his ult. I kinda wish they'd buff his hp to 1000 during ult similar to hela because you're a much bigger target
@FenrirLupo I'd then tune the numbers to make it manageable. The numbers are not set in stone but as is he just explodes and I think the ult giving bonus health makes alot of sense. Maybe an extra 300 bonus hp so if you stack it with his big form before hand you get to live for a bit but it needs some strategy that would balance it for low elo. And then in higher elo he'd explode much faster. For me just in gold I rushed my hela ult and they just focus fired me even though it wasn't a 1v5 and I exploded in around 2-3 seconds
Admit it, you have to make a new video bro…. Like 5 different content creators dropped a video after yours, saying how slept on he is. Even takin him to gm and it changed his mind on the character, nuff said
I believe the purpose of Mr.Fantastic why his kit is like that cuz he is hybrid tank I rather increasing damg than attacking speed, he is a more of bullying dps + tank, you don't need to focus on kills his kit is all focusing on defend and absorb for me that's how I play him soo far, just pay attention he is not a main dps, mostly tank mains will figure out how playing him. But more importantly is staying with your team and Mr.Fantastic he requires a specific combo, for example dive tank and main dps so they can freely focus the backing of the enemies while you r playing dps + dmg in the point to support the gap for the team, he isn't bad he just need a well fundamental player and a good combo
Mr. fantastic is an off tank more than a DPS but he’s both. Thanks also do not have a lot of disengage. There’s a couple of them that can sort of get away but not really. I think Mr. fantastic is fantastic. PS this is not boring old overwatch
you play mr fantastic as semi tank! and his abilities and dps are essentially aoes!! aoe attacks are low on damage by design because… they are aoe attacks?! maybe his ult damage would need some buff because it’s an ult after all but other than that i don’t know why even compare him to other duelists when playstyles completely mismatch. only thing they have in common is the role “duelist” and the reason for it is probably that devs intended the role system to be simple for new comers and not introduce a role like off-tank. reed isn’t even only one of a kind btw, we have storm who is supp-duelist hybrid. she also doesn’t have disengage ability but she is very strong in right hands as is mr fantastic. I remember from one of your ow streams that you say something like it’s not about character, it’s about player behind it. this contradicts your take and we saw some players managing to hit gm soloq with reed. and btw, wtf was that tier list video about dude 😂 are you doing all these merely for content or your mind is changing all of a sudden?
I dunno man. Not quite convinced. It sounds like disengaging is just hard rather than completely lacking. You're not actually dependent on your team imo, but rather you can have them inform your positioning and they do so at a much greater degree. You have to pay way more attention to their position, but it should be possible in theory. Also zbra uses doomfist ult to disengage all the time, it's just way more valuable to live rather than get 1 or even 2 kills. I don't think that is a very good indicator of the strength of the ult. His hero design makes me think he's extremely good at soft off-angles though. He's able to pump out quite a lot of damage against a grouped up enemy team and by drawing a lot of attention all at once, he can get a ton of value from his deflect. You can't play him like a psykiske, but that's not what he was designed for. I think what he needs is to be more like an Ana rather than a Kiriko. What's really lacking for him is that his defensive abilities aren't deadly enough. Otherwise I think he's fine.
how is needing a teammate to be around "not dependent on your team"? you need teammates to actually get kills whether it's by division or addition, and you need your teammates to disengage. regardless of the choices you make independently, the teammates still need to be around for you to even move around at the least. by the way, doomfist gets invincibility during his ultimate, and he can engage/disengage with his punch and slam. this is all on top of doing consistent dive damage, which mr fantastic doesn't have. if that's not a good enough indicator of mr fantastic's ult strength, then take a look at the damage dealt vs blocked. you take longer to kill people with it and don't have any defense while doing it. it's better not to use the ultimate at all, especially when it's slow and clunky on the ground and makes you a huge target. it makes you as big as when you have max elasticity, but you don't get the health to compensate, which makes no logical sense whatsoever. also when you attack the entire team at once, it won't be very hard for the entire enemy team to attack back. and if you're on any sort of off angle it means that you can't be healed. even if you do damage to all of them and they can't heal it all at once, then you die anyways. you are forced to play him in front of them since your team will be further away from them, and dive teammates will get out faster than you can select them. if he gets a mobility increase, then it will only be in his small form. he won't be able to have that grapple and 800 hp at the same time, so it's not a bad fix.
You are technically correct, but I've been playing him all week and he is my highest winrate character. His versatility makes him very high value in lower ranks, which has very chaotic fights. His kit allows me to quickly adapt to different situations and I do not need to disengage. I can create space, I can protect my backline, I can 1v1 flankers, and I don't have crazy good aim so the fact that he is pseudo-meleee is also very welcome. He's bad at poke, his lack of disengage makes diving good players risky, but he excels at brawling. And in the lower ranks every fight turns into a chaotic brawl.
The reason why he works in low ranks is because everything works in low ranks. People don't pay attention to you half of the time, therefore you can just stand next to them and attack them without anything happening to you.
You are judging him like he is supposed to be some assassin, he is not. I can peel, I can hold, I can create space, I can dive. I don't need him to be the best at anything, his versatility allows me to adapt to the situation at hand and take advantage of misplays. I am climbing like crazy because I can do almost anything without having to switch. He does have lackluster shit single target dmg, which prevents me from quickly assassinating someone, but you can hit multiple targets at once in both forms by dragging your attacks, which still makes you a threat.
Your example videos are biased, I have a 70% win rate with fantastic and am almost always mvp, and EVERYTIME it’s because I have more damage and damage taken then everybody else

If he could pull himself to terrain rather than just to allies it would do a lot to help him and i think his ult just does nothing, the numbers on it have to go up
Your 4 points are spot on. He’s fun at least
Yes everyone listen to this gold boarder who is officially a “main” in 2 weeks of playtime
@@devincase3091 hes right though playing him defensively is the best
@@pznthr Even if you are a Tank. A Tank can get away and off angle. You go Tank mode ad Fantastic and the enemy team just mows you down and you cant escape.

“I’ll count in my heart”
People are sleeping on this hero. I’m winning 72% of my games in top 1% elo one tricking him. I really think this is a wolverine situation where folks haven’t figured out his optimal play style yet.
His only major issue imo is his ult. 90% of the time it’s not worth using unless you’re in a tiny room and can spam it. It’s so bad I’ll sometimes just use it to get back to point faster or as an escape if my team dies
I was really expecting him to be able to slingshot himself around as a mobility ability, and was super disappointed when I found how immobile he was.
You think I wouldn't hear that Metroid Prime music in the background? You trippin.
Before you play mr. fantastic, don’t. You’re throwing my games.
i think his primary fire should be the same on full extension, but then retreat as soon as it hits something, while still having that drag for whatever time it stays out. that way he can play closer with faster damage but further he still has what he does now, and also encourages direct shots. and i thought the e was going to be a grapple when his moves were leaked but apparently not for some reason. i have never seen a non-backline character who's unable to move independently.
I honestly hope Marvel devs see this video, he needs a buff ASAP 😭🙏🏻
I think he could be so much more fun if they doubled the range of all of his moves. He can definitely stretch a lot more than he’s allowed in game
He designed more like a tank. Maybe they buff his base hp and move him to tank role. Its no way dualist.
I wish he was a tank
Lowkey that would fix him cuz he has no damaging abilities thor does more damage than him
Thor does more damage AND blocks more!
Yeah because his kit is actually strong theoretically. It’s just that his numbers are too weak there’s no reason to play him over any tank
did you forget about the tank mode? also his punch can hit multiple people, he is a good anti-diver
These Metroid soundtracks go hard
"he enables certain team comps"
"he is like a Tank Dps hybrid"
*-said the bronze reddit player, paragraphing*
18:05 Basically, he needs a gum gum gattling move
Imo, that's how id play him
@3:25 Is this Metroid Prime music? It unlocked a core memory.
they need to give him like a gum gum rocket jump to fling to an off angle or escape and they need to give you an option to forsake your tank mode to use a cooldown instantly.
I am hesitant to say he is bad because that is what people thought about Wolverine too, but he does have the worst ultimate in the entire game overall imo.
awkward the absolute goat for using metroid prime music
I feel that Mr. Fantastic is misunderstood.
He’s not meant to do a lot of damage in my opinion. He’s a jack of all trades it seems. He can tank a lot of damage, he has a deflect ability, he can shield himself and teammates. He’s a hybrid of all 3 roles in my opinion. I think he gets his value from resource pulling, keeping the pressure off his team, and being a general distraction.
Not top tier, but not useless in team fights either
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Never said he was useless, but he has no clear identity and has nothing specific about his kit that creates a lot of value.
He went like 3-7 first half flaming supports for heals and refused to switch off lmao
they should make his ultimate a double jump cd like invisible woman, and give him a real ult.
He only works in a team with 3 dps (himself included) and a tank like Strange. He's amazing in taking advantage of the chaos that your teammates create, but yeah, very low damage. I think with a buff he could be amazing
Nah just play hulk or Thor they do that job better
Still one of my fav characters to use Hes also good for stalling for a lil
And I was thinking for buffing his ult he does like three normal slams then the final slam is both his fists and it does ALOT more damage
He’s not THAT bad. He’s just not broken like psylocke or something
hopefully more Marvel Rivals videos nice work!
I feel like he may be a DPS but should be played like a tank hybrid. I don’t like him, but it may provide more success.
I feel like he could make a pretty good tank with an extensive rework
I feel Mr Fantastic is not a dps, its a guardian. Its meant to be picked against certain heroes not as an opener.
I feel he can enable a lot of healer by playing as a soft tank but the damage is awful. But for comps with more mobile characters and more than three healers he is good. I tried running him with a sue a storm and a mantis and it was really good cause you feel inmortal and mantis helps a lot with her damage and ccs
Would love to see how you play Loki
Make the guide I believe if any one can make a charecter work it's akward Mr fantastic is a jack of all trades and deserves some love
That's too much hp for a moving target, he would be op in low elo.
For me just in gold I rushed my hela ult and they just focus fired me even though it wasn't a 1v5 and I exploded in around 2-3 seconds
no wonder he felt bizarre..! can you make a psylocke guide, that would be so helpful, she's hard to implement in 3-strategist comp
Can u do magik next?
He’s a tank. Point blank period.
But a bad one. He’s worse than all the tanks besides venom and penny
I think the game made makes a difference. As well as your team. He a not so independent character in most modes.
PLS make a guide for every hero, starting with the dps, pls
Teach us all how to play him!
Admit it, you have to make a new video bro…. Like 5 different content creators dropped a video after yours, saying how slept on he is. Even takin him to gm and it changed his mind on the character, nuff said
just make him Luffy... Gear 2nd xD fk it, speed mode lets go.
I don't know if anyone really thought he was strong.
Do you offer Rivals coaching?
Can you make a how to carry on tank video
Disengage is for cowards, we stall
Mr. fantastic is an off tank more than a DPS but he’s both. Thanks also do not have a lot of disengage. There’s a couple of them that can sort of get away but not really. I think Mr. fantastic is fantastic. PS this is not boring old overwatch
Is magneto any good? I’ve been playing him and doing alright
Magneto is great.
you play mr fantastic as semi tank! and his abilities and dps are essentially aoes!! aoe attacks are low on damage by design because… they are aoe attacks?! maybe his ult damage would need some buff because it’s an ult after all but other than that i don’t know why even compare him to other duelists when playstyles completely mismatch. only thing they have in common is the role “duelist” and the reason for it is probably that devs intended the role system to be simple for new comers and not introduce a role like off-tank. reed isn’t even only one of a kind btw, we have storm who is supp-duelist hybrid. she also doesn’t have disengage ability but she is very strong in right hands as is mr fantastic.
Otherwise I think he's fine.
how is needing a teammate to be around "not dependent on your team"? you need teammates to actually get kills whether it's by division or addition, and you need your teammates to disengage. regardless of the choices you make independently, the teammates still need to be around for you to even move around at the least.
by the way, doomfist gets invincibility during his ultimate, and he can engage/disengage with his punch and slam. this is all on top of doing consistent dive damage, which mr fantastic doesn't have. if that's not a good enough indicator of mr fantastic's ult strength, then take a look at the damage dealt vs blocked. you take longer to kill people with it and don't have any defense while doing it. it's better not to use the ultimate at all, especially when it's slow and clunky on the ground and makes you a huge target. it makes you as big as when you have max elasticity, but you don't get the health to compensate, which makes no logical sense whatsoever.
also when you attack the entire team at once, it won't be very hard for the entire enemy team to attack back. and if you're on any sort of off angle it means that you can't be healed. even if you do damage to all of them and they can't heal it all at once, then you die anyways. you are forced to play him in front of them since your team will be further away from them, and dive teammates will get out faster than you can select them.
if he gets a mobility increase, then it will only be in his small form. he won't be able to have that grapple and 800 hp at the same time, so it's not a bad fix.
patiently (kinda) waiting for psylocke vid..
Off angling Marvel Rivals…
Unranked to GM soloq content on rivals?
fantastic ain’t it?
Na he probably just sucks with him, he literally compares him to all the other dps, none of which are hybrids like fantastic making him one of a kind
They need to remove him from the game
Your example videos are biased, I have a 70% win rate with fantastic and am almost always mvp, and EVERYTIME it’s because I have more damage and damage taken then everybody else
Just because you can win on any hero doesn't make it less of a fact that he is objectively worse than other heroes.
