If trans people want others to take them seriously and respect them, they should stop announcing themselves as trans in the first sentence because if you said you are trans then advocate for equality no matter what the gender is, then do not mention gender AT ALL. Now we are not sure she/he got the job because of the talent or the trans status.... So sad it seems more and more people pretend to not see this game.

I’m all for equality and I’m afraid many young people are so confused that they allow others to label them and they trust adults in their lives and what they say they are like. I am a straight white chick who has friends of all sorts when it comes to their sexual preferences and their self identity is so important to them. I’m just afraid that the really young people these days are conditioned to put themselves into one box and not realize that they evolve and change their opinions and views and what attracts them is fluidly changing over a lifetime.
Long story short, I truly think labels are the problem and not the people. Just try and be your authentic self and you do not have to announce to others what you’re in to. Privacy is key to my life and I truly think people need to be less selfish and more private with their choices and opinions.

So, yes by announcing that you are trans really isn’t necessary for you to be happy. It’s society’s labels
, you don’t have to be a certain way to make yourself noticed. Just say that you’re a model that’s all Ralph Lauren really cares about not how you feel inside. It’s about the outside that matters to a fashion label
