I saw Bobby perform this at the Tower Theatre in Philly just a couple, three years ago. Your inflection? Your affect? You are right on. Clearly, you have studied the music. This may be a cover. But, you have been faithful to Bobby on this. 6:17 Sunday moring, that's all I got. Beautiful Dr. Cotten.
You captured the song -- in your own way. It's a song nobody should try because it would be so easy to wreck. But you didn't wreck it and your voice conveys the right emotion and caring. Very well done. And the simple guitar work is perfect.

It's the message in the music. It's timeless. Dylan is a gift to the world.
This is one of the very few covers of this song I actually like! I love the original, and I've been listening to a lot of covers recently, and they almost all seem to miss something that I enjoy about the original. Desolation Row is not a happy place, but it also is not a place to be pitied. The narrator is singing from Desolation Row, and has a lot of fight in them. It's not easy to be in Desolation Row, but those who do survive there have grit and perseverance, and you captured that here.
Funnily enough, although it's extremely different musically, the My Chemical Romance cover is the other one I've heard that I think hits this tone well.
