I refined this two inch suction nozzle for my 12 volt electric subsurface gold dredge project, and this latest iteration give excellent suction with a Seaflo 3700gph bilge pump, while being easy to print without any supports required.
This model is part of a complete subsurface gold dredge project I have been working on and I'd love for you to try it out!
As always,
thanks for watching!
PS: Check to confirm your local regulations regarding the use of a gold dredge in your area.
You nerd😅 love the shirt! Nice to see it all come together. I'm a visual person and now it's better explained. Now just figure me out a way to use it in our province. Cheers, Prairie 🤠
I've definitely gone down the gold dredge design rabbit hole... I'm sure what I'm learning will eventually work it's way back around to something that can be used in Alberta. :)
Thank time
I love the thought of an electric dredge. Any chance you’ll be selling the bilge pump impeller cad files? I was thinking of trying to build a sniping/crevicing dredge diverted to a small stream sluice. Ideally, it would be ran with a smaller bilge pump and battery to be easily carried into remote locations. Either way, keep up the great work I love where the project is going
Initially, I'm just selling the Impellers as a physical product. I can mail them globally as an oversized letter, so I'm setting shipping at a flat rate of $5. I may release the printable file next year sometime, so keep an eye out.
I will definitely keep an eye out for that. I suspect I’ll need a scaled down version for whatever smaller pump I decide on
I might have exactly what you are looking for. I did an impeller for a Seaflo 2000gph pump. I only have the profile for PLA right now, as when I print with ASA I needed to resize things slightly for a precise shaft fit. Just the way the parts shrink when printed. The only concern with PLA was that if you run your bilge pump dry, the shaft heats up pretty quick, and I wanted something more temperature resistant for sale. Email me referencing this conversation and I'll see what I can do for you next week.
The entire dredge setup I have for sale seemed to work with the 2000gph pump, but I liked the extra punch that the 3700gph provided, so that's what I went all in on.
Hi mate just got files for subsurface sluice/dredge. Is it worth doing with 2000gph pump if so best nozzle size? And your recommendations re best plastic for sluice? Hope you're healing
@melmaximus6221 2000gph pump will still move material, just less. Not sure how well the sluice will run. If you want to try it, best nozzle size would be 12mm, but the files are for 15mm, which still works. In a pinch, I made an impeller for the seaflo 2000 if stock won't cut it. If you go that way, please report back your opinion on suction.
For an open printer, petg hf from bambu labs has been working well for me. If you have a printer capable of ASA, it print very nicely on my P1S. I have yet to experiment with anything fancier.
I don't see the link in the description for the file, It looks awesome
Ah yes... That would be because I hadn't put it in yet! My bad, it should be there now :)
When are the videos of you proving the concept ?
I need to wait until my travel plans line up with the right locaton to make a full demonstration video. I've only got bathtub tests on camera for now. I'll have a full recovery testing pool setup sometime next year so I can run all sorts of different types of mats and do some real A-B testing, but that won't be for a while yet.
I’ll be back from down south at the end of February. Can I get a tour of the Bowness factory then? I’ll bring a six pack!
@goldentroutprospecting1821 I'm only here until mid January... This time round at least.
get your liver checked! you might have liver issues! plz see a doctor
How would you explain your diagnosis?
@@UtmostOutdoors yellowing skin and circles around your eyes. anyway id get checked
@cardmansales9376 Ah yes. The yellow is just the white ballance of my camera. The eyes is me being tired. Indoor lights in that room give an odd color.
