3:04 No, you can top off a Garand. It's just not really worth the effort to do so in 99% of the cases. But, pull back the bolt carrier (slowly) while holding down the cartridges with your thumb (no, it's not dangerous) and while holding back the operating rod/bolt carrier with the outside of your palm feed new cartridges into the enblock. Hold down the cartridges and let the operating rod move over them without stripping and feeding a new round (since you probably already have one chambered). With this you can even load most bolt-actions with 1 more round than normal. So, yes, you can load a Mauser K98k with 6 rounds total. Not that it's worth doing so, however.

DiCE should add a Para Marine update patch featuring: Johnson M1941, Johnson LMG, M50 Reising and Winchester Model 70. All used inconspicuously in the Pacific.
They're selling the Pacific theater hard, mate. Going through the entire European tank customization, maybe one set caught my eye. One. Of 24 available. Meanwhile, the Pacific got at least two very cool ones, the epic Sherman set they gave away for free this week, and the one for the Kami.
Someone actually did a test in real life on that scenario on RUclips about enemies rushing American troops reloading their M1's. Pretty much by the time they got close enough the next stripper clip was able to be loaded.
Not only this, but marines began to keep empty clips on them. They would throw them against rocks to trick the enemy I to thinking they are reloading so they would pop their heads out.
I don’t think anyone would hear a clip eject after their ears are ringing from the constant noise of gun fire. The Garand ping myth has to be one of the dumbest myths ever created.
I got a black screen for several seconds thought my phone was playing up 😅 Also I’ve wanted a Katana that I can run around with besides the Battle pick up one. 🗡 Also I would like the Owen gun but I doubt it will come.
M1941's main disadvantage was it had a reciprocating barrel which is great. But the US Army mandated the attachment of bayonets and M1941's moving barrel wasn't suitable for any front heavy attachments, hence Garand edged out.
Ww2 was a time USMC was playing second fiddle garand wasnt given to marines until late 42-43 so marines adopted m1941 to supplement 1903 along side m55 reising to supplement thompsons
There's a gun shop in Illinois (Simpson Ltd) that actually has the specific Johnson rifle that Dunlop used during his actions that earned him his MoH. They have it on display, not for sale, with a bunch of his other belongings. It's very cool! Glad you mentioned him.
The m1 Garand can definitely be topped up. And the m1 ping is complete nonsense, no one in the heat of battle with all the ranges of noise going on would ever notice or hear it.
(People who like to run out into the open without any situational awareness and are shocked when they get shot by an MMG just like they would with any other weapon intensifies)
If someone interested - LAD is acronym of names of 3 it's creators - Lyutyi, Afanasiev, Dekin, and it was supposed to be some kind of close-combat support machine gun. It worked well on trials, but never were mass-produced, because it didn't showed significant advantage over PPSh, only few prototypes were made.
The 1919 machine gun is actually the “stinger” LMG of which 6 were made but the gun was not military adopted instead it was made using a turret gun from a carrier based dive bomber, the stock of a M-1, the rear sights of a BAR , and the bi-pod of a BAR
So glad that we will see Johnson rifle in BFV. Funny enough that this gun was used by both ROC and PRC army during the Chinese Civil War in 1946 and many Chinese will recognize it, as it was featured in many TV series and movies.
The Johnson rifle and LMG was issued exclusively to the 1st SSF, a joint US and Canadian Special Forces group. This was so that The Johnson's in inventory would go to waste. The 1st SSF even earned the nickname "The Devil's Brigade" by German soldiers fighting in Italy for their extensive use of black paint to cover themselves, along with their trademark red arrowhead symbol.
Westie is there anyway you can make a flying guide? I've been playing since they added the Pacific and I've always loved flying in battlefield games but in this I absolutely despise it. I just can't seem to get the hang of it.
I want to see a stinger machine gun in the game (A stinger machine gun was a gun with the body of a M2 the stock of a M1 grand and the handle of a BAR)
The Johnson was used by the Dutch. After they surrendered the USMC got shipments which where meant for them, and issued them too the Paramarines, and Raiders, as the Springfield, which was still USMC standard issue at this pint was not well suited too the type of fighting they usually did. It makes sense they would see use on Iwo Jima, as 5th Marine division was built around the Raider and Paramarine battalions when they where disbanded.
the Johnson rifle would be a welcome addition, that rotary magazine is a pretty interesting feature. i’d also quite like to see the Johnson LMG as that was also used in some capacity by US paramarines. at this point, i think DICE really needs to do some sort of community update to let us know what’s planned for the second part of this chapter, and beyond. perhaps we might get some news this week?
The Johnson rifle I think would be for recon since it's categorized self-loading. It could be a Garand style gun: fast firing, 2-3 damage up close, 4 in longer ranges. You can learn a bunch more about the history of the gun and it's lmg version on the channel Forgotten Weapons.
It’s a well known myth but you can in fact top the magazine up on an M1 Garand, bloke on the range did a video on myths of the garand and its at the 1.40ish mark (Video is something like “what isn’t necessarily so Garand”)
Yes the Grand makes a tinging noise when the mag was spend but you couldnt hear that in the mist of fighting (Only what I heard from W2 vets) and the enemy was close to you but they did drop empty ones close to enemies so they would pop up from cover.
I think we should see the Russian front with engagements at Stalingrad and Kursk, then "Invasions" with the Americans landing in west Africa, the allies landing in Sicily and Italy - perhaps some more Italian engagements and D-day with the push towards Caun (think that's how you spell it). Then we see downfall. With the allies pushing through France,Belgium and the Netherlands into Germany and the Russians in Poland and Berlin and if dice has time a return to the Philippines and Okinawa
Lee Harvey Oswald was a professional marine sharpshooter with the M1 Garand semi auto rifle but yet he supposedly used a bolt action Carcano rifle the same rifle that made the Italian Military a joke since 1914-1943 because of how inaccurate it is to shoot targets close and far away.
The Carcano inaccuracy myth started from Americans reloading the ammo with undersized bullets causing inaccuracy. Carcanos are in the same league as the other service rifles in terms of accuracy.
FiveTwoSevenTHR oh I thought it started because Italy did not have the manufacturing strength of the Germans and started cutting corners in both wars for their guns infact the best guns they had in WW2 were the Beretta pistol and SMG because they were the most expensively built.
Johnson>Garand. As a Garand owner, I can say this is soo true- the Johnson was lighter, easier to load, and wasn't nearly as much of a pain in the ass to take apart. One of the big reasons the Garand won out was because the bayonet on it could be larger, whereas the Johnson had a smaller, spike bayonet.
Liopleurodon it’s a game though. audio is exaggerated for atmosphere and so you can identify positions using sound. irl this was essentially just superstition. in a combat scenario you might hear the guy next to you run out of ammo, but the guys 50 metres away in a little crater or wherever are certainly not - even if it were completely still and quiet.
Here's the difference from HLL, a video game, and real life: Video game/HLL: [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [PING] "AHA! TIME TO ATTACK!" Real life: [BANG!] [RIIIIIIIIIING] [bang!] [RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIINNNG] "WHAT? DID YOU SAY SOMETHING? HUH? MY EARS REALLY HURT AND ALL I CAN HEAR IS RINGING!"
The one thing that i thought definetelly was going to be an option for the tank's body customization was the flags on the back of the turret, but it's only the sherman's flagship skin which has a flag on it. Now im sad about that :(
3:05 You can top off an M1 Garand with loose rounds, it's not smooth but you can do it And if you shot 8 rounds of 30-06 without ear protection you wouldn't hear the "ping" of the enbloc being ejected, let alone an enemy soldier at a distance
Okay I gotta admit, the Johnson Rifle would be really cool to see! But, a couple more U.S weapons I’d like to see are the Springfield 1903, and the M1A1 Thompson. Those should absolutely be in the game at some point. Additionally, it would be kinda cool to see the M50 Reising and Johnson LMG make it into the game. Then the U.S Arsenal would be pretty much complete.
Eastern Front... Oh HELL yes Dice! Can't wait to see the various models of T-34 blasting around the map. Hopefully they decide upon making the battle of Kursk and give the Germans a Panther tank as well! Mosin Nagant, PPSh, DP-28, DShK, SVT-40, PTRD + PTRS 41... so many resources for them to pull from to make an incredible experience! Fingers crossed they don't botch it!
You could load the M1 mid mag, just have to single load it and watch your thumb. Also the whole ping getting GI’s killed is a bunch of bull, in combat, and in the field you wouldn’t be able to hear it since you have your battle buddies with M1’s M1918’s and M1 Thompson’s would cover you and reloads are quick

DiCE should add a Para Marine update patch featuring: Johnson M1941, Johnson LMG, M50 Reising and Winchester Model 70. All used inconspicuously in the Pacific.
9:30 let’s all agree that’s what we expected for tank customization. Netting and vegetation for camouflage. Not randomly placed sandbags
Bloke on the range dispelled this myth
not only that but imagine the other noise in a firefight you wouldn’t even be able to hear the ping
Not only this, but marines began to keep empty clips on them. They would throw them against rocks to trick the enemy I to thinking they are reloading so they would pop their heads out.
@@chiefbigsad7995 probably another myth.
I don’t think anyone would hear a clip eject after their ears are ringing from the constant noise of gun fire. The Garand ping myth has to be one of the dumbest myths ever created.
I got a black screen for several seconds thought my phone was playing up 😅
Also I’ve wanted a Katana that I can run around with besides the Battle pick up one.
“I wonder which beach landing. . .. hmmm. . .”
No one :
Toulouse
The brits should have access to the Sherman. They had a bunch from the lend lease act
and it also appeared in the campaign
Didn’t even think of that lol. Unless you’re talking about the last tiger then those were Americans technically speaking

Here's 2 weapons I think should be added before chapter 6 ends, airisaka type 4/5 and the stinger
The Johnson came out on the international womens day...
PokerNick ha 😂
That intro thoo, gg westie gg
Man that guy taking the Johnson weapon into Iwo Jima and receiving the Medal Of Honor means he clearly had an OP weapon not fare. DICE please. 🤣
;-) Balance pls!
Ttk disaster ended finally now looking forward for new content good video man 😎👍
Westie is there anyway you can make a flying guide? I've been playing since they added the Pacific and I've always loved flying in battlefield games but in this I absolutely despise it. I just can't seem to get the hang of it.
I want to see a stinger machine gun in the game
(A stinger machine gun was a gun with the body of a M2 the stock of a M1 grand and the handle of a BAR)
Fun fact - the Kar98k bullet velocity in BFV is 140 metres per second faster than the real life Kar98k
Great video westie, its allways good to know whats coming
It’s a well known myth but you can in fact top the magazine up on an M1 Garand, bloke on the range did a video on myths of the garand and its at the 1.40ish mark
(Video is something like “what isn’t necessarily so Garand”)
Yes the Grand makes a tinging noise when the mag was spend but you couldnt hear that in the mist of fighting (Only what I heard from W2 vets) and the enemy was close to you but they did drop empty ones close to enemies so they would pop up from cover.
Dear Dice: Why still no M1903A4 Springfield?
game needs more proper tank body custom, the Sherman with USA flag was nice.
With BF4 and BF1 we had videos on the CTE about in development content. With BFV we get datamine leaks.
Why add weapons that weren't even used when the M1903 Springfield A3 isn't even added yet?
Nathan Brown just get out
There is a paint job for one of the vehicles that is labeled "Tarawa". There may be a Tarawa map coming out soon.
3:25 considering how many times I used this in HLL to locate and ambush an enemy, they might be right...
Here's the difference from HLL, a video game, and real life:
Video game/HLL: [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [BANG!] [PING] "AHA! TIME TO ATTACK!"
Real life: [BANG!] [RIIIIIIIIIING] [bang!] [RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIINNNG] "WHAT? DID YOU SAY SOMETHING? HUH? MY EARS REALLY HURT AND ALL I CAN HEAR IS RINGING!"
Would also love to see the Japanese Garand copy that's been in the older DICE WWII games and the Pedersen toggle action rifle.
The one thing that i thought definetelly was going to be an option for the tank's body customization was the flags on the back of the turret, but it's only the sherman's flagship skin which has a flag on it. Now im sad about that :(
Ka-mi has a flag as well

3:05 You can top off an M1 Garand with loose rounds, it's not smooth but you can do it
And if you shot 8 rounds of 30-06 without ear protection you wouldn't hear the "ping" of the enbloc being ejected, let alone an enemy soldier at a distance
It took so long till the intro came, i almost thought that i was watching the 6.2 update
Dont mind me, still waiting for my 1903 Springfield to fulfill my Private Jackson sniper fantasy
The M1941 Johnson rifle is one of my dream guns but they sell for like 4-7k depending on condition
In the latest update, some tank skins were removed for the UK faction, and I didn't get them back.
I am extremely excited about the m1941 Johnson rifle. Very unique rifle.
That radar m2 reminds me of the sniper in return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Do you have any idea how hard it would be to hear a ping from an m1 garand while there’s explosions, and 30-06 rounds being fired?
I have more anticipation for D-Day than the eastern front.
I think a certain other Battlefield RUclipsr would fall in love with the LAD...
At 7:59 I think he doesn’t know almost all beach landings are like D-day’s just on a smaller scale
With the double barrel flare gun you could stick it to planes and have it fly across the map
The 6.2 update makes me happy 👍
Banger D DAY! Is COMING D DAY IS COMING!!!!!!
All good but they seriously need to buff smgs, especially low rof smg
No the M3 Grease gun would be op, its solid already
The "Ping" from the Garand I believe is an urban myth
Eastern Front... Oh HELL yes Dice! Can't wait to see the various models of T-34 blasting around the map. Hopefully they decide upon making the battle of Kursk and give the Germans a Panther tank as well! Mosin Nagant, PPSh, DP-28, DShK, SVT-40, PTRD + PTRS 41... so many resources for them to pull from to make an incredible experience! Fingers crossed they don't botch it!
Hmm an iconic beach landing? That would be fun to play
That intro tho... BATTLEFIELD HYPE
8:00 I’m just praying now
The Johnson rifle does seem interesting and the eastern front campaign would be cool.
good Video Eastie! 👍
great video as always 💯👊
I want the Springfield sniper :(
