Honestly the best reviews, Normally here in America I can't stand the British news people and commentary we have here but this guys voice is great. He could review a paper bag and I would listen. Think your missing your calling. You should go into broadcasting. Once again a wonderful review and I only wished my Zenmuse was this good. Beautiful footage. Your blessed to live in such a beautiful area.
+MrLivesteamer Thanks for the kind words. I think my Zoom H2N mic has to take a chunk of credit on the voice as I've been using that more on my recent videos and it is a nice sounding mic ;-) Very blessed with living where I do. I think this hobby makes me appreciate it even more.... a few hidden jems in terms of locations around me that I'd never really know where there without flying over them!
+Drew Culver Already have it mounted to my (just arrived) spare v2 Pro frame. I think v2 Pro Owners will be happy people when they see my next vid/blog update on it. Should get it online tonight.
+Drew Culver - Video done ruclips.net/video/AbNKS5fu_pE/видео.html and take a look at the blog too: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=32587545&postcount=741 :-)
Thanks for the review, right to the point. A quick observation though, I might be wrong, but from the looks of it I don't see what's stopping you from mounting the gimbal in the "compression mode", just put the top mounting brackets with the 'hangers' underneath the fixed part, I think the 'hangers' (here I might be wrong) won't interfere with the rest.
Not wrong at all bud and well noticed too. I corrected my rather foolish error on my blog but should probably put an annotaion on the vid. Compressed mode works a treat and raises the height of the cam off the ground too. This is why i shouldn't follow the manual (which shows it in hung mode).
Really great review, finally "almost what I have been looking for" I wish it had full 360 pan. have you worked out the pan yet. like you showed it appeared to only have about 180 degrees, but when you had it in lock mode and you panned the frame it looked like you had the full 320 degrees.
+azzurripro Just finished doing a Firmware update video and happy to say 320 is now possible by using the 'speed' 1.11 firmware. 'Position' firmware still only does 180 degrees. Stock 1.10 firmware is 180 degrees only it seems, Video is still processing as i type but will be here. I demo both modes: ruclips.net/video/E4ihMXeyAcc/видео.html
no I mean the 5d3 its tarot's version of the zenmuse z15. It is a full encoder gimbal for the canon 5d mk 3, i have amended it and used it with the gh4 and now the Sony a7r2 42mp full frame camera with the zeiss batis 25mm prime lens. have a look on foxtech its amazing value.
Thanks for your review on the strength of it I bought a Tiny 2 and it works as good as yours right out of the box. Only one thing,it now comes with a Phantom friendly bracket and so compression fitting is not a straight forward option. Tiny 2 works in suspension mode near perfectly on my F550 Y6 so who cares.
Hi D I have watched lots of footage and this gimbal has all the hallmarks of encoders. when it is turned by hand it doesn't break position but acts like a dampened spring. I have built many dslr gimbals on the Alexmos 32 and without encoders they all break position very crisply and do not return with the same smoothness.
Thank you for the review. I am waiting for my Z1 Tiny 2 to arrive. I won't be using the rail mounting brackets, so either need to find an alternative mounting bracket or fabricate my own. Do you know if anyone is supplying an alternative mounting bracket for this gimbal?
I'm a little worried about the wiring because I'm really looking forward to buying this. So I have a basic quadcopter: sk450 frame, kk2.1.5. Can I use the Zhiyun on that?
Hi d3wey, I was torn between the Feiyu Tech Mini 3D and this the Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2. After watching this review and the recommendations on our facebook forum for Align Multirotors, there is simply no comparison or debate. Hope you don't mind, but I will share this review on the forum as the popularity for the Tiny 2 seems to be growing. It's just a shame it's not available to buy direct in the UK! I will also share your second video on the firmware update if that's okay. Brilliant stuff! - Cheers Stuart
+stuart downing Hi Stuart. Yes please feel free to share this around. I really think these things deserve to be more popular and the more exposure they get, the more chance of some distributers getting them in stock. I agree too that this thing really is a different league in terms of performance over the mini3D. Hopeing Feiyu-Tech rise to the competition and prove they can better it but I think they need to go back to a blank page first (or get some better input from the end user before starting at least).
Great Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2 (3-Axis Brusless Gimbal) Review, thank you. Have you heard of "SteadyGo 3 Axis High Performance Gimbal Stabilizer"? I appears to be the same gimbal as the Z1 Tiny but with different name "SteadyGo" my concern would be support of firmware updates and drivers. What are you thoughts?
+cuflyn Yeah there is a thread on RCgroups here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2461543 ("DeweyAXD" is me on there). As far as I can tell it is just a licensed version of the Tiny2 and the firmware seems to be compatible.
Hi Dewey, Thanks for the review. Am i right that you are flying an Alien 560mm in this video? I am planning to purchase one as upgrade from a F450. is the frame any good for aerial video? Thank you, Quinten
+Avia - Hi Quinten - yep I was using an Alien 560 for that flight. The frame is pretty good. I'd give it like 7 out of 10 i guess. You can make a super super neat looking quad out of it and the fold down system works great and the place the gimbal mounts means virtually no props in shot. Things i don't like are the landing gear... complicated, weak and prone to vibrating loose even with locktight. There is also not quite enough height inside the quad so space isn't as great as you'd think especially if you are using DJI E310, E600 or E800 escs. They fit of course but don't leave much room and with no inbuilt PDB you have to work out where to put that without it touching the CF. Flight wise is the other thing. It flys ok but balancing it is quite hard to do with a front mounted gimbal because they don't give you a battery holding area anywhere near the back. The give you one in the middle but that is useless because with gimbal your CG is shot to bits if you put it there. I created my own method to mount the batt nearer the back and it worked pretty good. I never felt it flew 'amazing' though so I don't think i'd say 'yes yes omg go get one!!'. That maybe because i was using E310's which is a bit underpowered for the frame size but it just never felt as stable as the F450. Maybe worth looking at the U580 Pro (I am building one). Its got probably as much space as the 560 in actual area but you can mount the ESCS under the motors, it umbrella folds and the pro comes with retracts so no issue of legs in sight (props i am not sure on yet). It too suffers a bit from CG issues in respect of where the batt mounts but due to having rails on the bottom you can create a mount that is nearer the rear pretty easily. Well worth looking at I would say.
Hi I just saw ( a video released on the 8th of September) from Zhiyun that the is a new version of this gimbal called the Z1 tiny2s. it gives you 2 full turns (much like the DJI inspire) of pan in the gimbal. have they been contact with you? do you know when that is released? Regards David
+Guide504 Hard one to say because it depends on country and their stock. As long as it is a Tiny 2 and not just the Tiny then you will get a good'n. I have heard newer ones allow full 360 rotation but am yet to get anything back from Zhiyun as to whether that is true or not. Their website suggests nothing has changed since my one. Amazon is the safest bet in all cases right now as you then get a level of their protection on the purchase instead of 'iffy' chinese support from the likes of aliexpress.
I am looking at purchasing the Z1 Tiny 2 and I am wondering if I can retain all the Monitor information that I had with the Zenmuse system. Such as Power consumption, Altitude etc. Does this gimbal come with that information embedded ?
+Jim Moule It doesn't but then neither did the Zenmuse gimbal. It relied on using the MiniOSD (or OSD Mark 3) for that information separately. You would need a different kind of OSD system like EzOSD or MiniOSD to get that information displayed
Do you think a Xiaomi YI would fit to the gimbal? and further ... as the live-out of that is on the back, where the GoPro has its long connector ... would it fit and not interfere with the stuff behind the plate?
+Matebox in Motion - Hard to say for certain without owning at Xiami Yi but as long as the form factor is the same then fitment and weight probably won't be an issue. I think you will be able to access the ports on the rear due to the mounting bracket being designed for the rear screen of the Hero4 Silver. Assuming the Yi does output video via USB then you would have to create your own wiring harness to be able to send FPV signal out through the gimbal as the Yi has micro USB and GoPro wire with the Tiny 2 is mini USB (You'd also have to check voltage inputs and micro usb wiring).
yep ... but the main thing is, if we can get the live feed out which is on the back side of the yi! Next, the price of the Gimbal just recently grew up to 330$ (approx 294€ currently). As I was writing the note here, it was down at 240€ ... Ok, that won't change the quality of the gimbal, but the acceptance to to just go "buying and trying" has been lowered :)
i have been test flying my tarot 5d3 gimbal today. got the whole thing under 7kg running the a7r2 and the zeiss batis 25mm initial test looks good in the wind. what do you think of the new polymer gopro gimbal from tarot?
+Guide504 If you mean the T4-3D I've not had my hands on one yet. From what I can see it looks a little over fussy for my tastes (Wires and external modules etc) but if the results are good it'd be hard to argue with at its price point. Likely better than a Feiyu-Tech Mini3D (time will tell on whether that is true of the Mini3D Pro) but without trying it that is massively subjective.
hi there. just wondering if you have had a chance to get your hands on and review the new feiyu tech mini 3d PRO version?? i had the 3d which was rubbish. and now need to get a new one as a crash destroyed it. can you please advise me?? I bought a cheap HMG yi 3d for my Xiaomi yi camera. and it was a completed flop. thanks.
+Richard Gilmore Sadly Feiyu-Tech have either stopped sending out free review samples or were not happy about my honest opinions on their Mini 3D (non pro) versions. They won't send me a sample and I really cannot justify spending $200+ on a product that had 2 sub-standard baby brothers (I have too many gimbals in my life already lol). That said another company have asked me to review gimbals from their shop so I have asked if they will send me the 3D Pro and the G4s.... we will see I guess. They have, once again, not offered any 'in flight' footage using the Mini3D pro to prove its capability over previous versions so if you want something good... get the Z1 Tiny 2. It is simply awesome vs the mini3D. I would also suggest getting a Hero4 (or even a second hand Hero3/Hero3+ black if budget is tight)... you will never regret it.
+d3weyTube would you be interested in selling your tiny 2 as you have so many hi hi. I have not been at this hobby long and built my own 2 axis gimbal. it works but not great. I then bought the feiyu tech mini 3d which was an epic fail. it was worse than my own gimbal. I did do a mod however which helped but then my hex cane down and destroyed it. I did email feiyu tech about the gimbal and they basically told me I was lying. and if I wanted to upload a video for them to review before returning it to them. i m not sure but never had a crash until I fitted that gimbal. when I did fit it it behaved differently. I think maybe its motors affected my compass. anyhow I bought a gimbal from the China man though still cost me 100quid. a HMG YI 3D. IT came yesterday and I fitted it to my hex. powered it up and it was an epic fail. would not hold any position at all. think its a software programming issue. but the board I think is a copy of the storm 32 mini controller which has just been banged together with no real attention. I want something good but not to expensive. I know you get for what you pay really but the tiny 2 looks good. I wonder will a Xiaomi yi camera fit it. although I have a Git 2 camera coming which is the same size as a gopro 3 so it should fit. have a look at my videos and you will she the gimbal in question. not working and me throwing a tantrum he he. anyway thanks for getting back and the long story. I just need to vent my anger at this mysterious gimbal. Do you sell any of your review products?? if so let me know. also is there an older version of the tiny 2 with different mounts? hobby king have one for sale but it looks different and the gimbal hangs on the balls. not like this one where the gimbal weight squashed them if you get me. thanks. regards. Richard.
+Richard Gilmore lol sadly for you the Tiny 2 is now my 'go to' gimbal. I would go as far as to say that I favour it over the DJI H3-3D but being honest my larger quad is still under construction so I haven't truly put it through enough testing to know that 100% - testing proved it as equally as good though. If you want something that 'just works' then get a Tiny 2... no questions. Just get it. The Chinese version will probably be capable of being really good if you tune it, test it, set it up etc and Storm32 will make that possible. However.... you will do about 100 flights of tweaking to get there (especially if new to this) and that will likely drive you nuts (I don't have the patience for it personally). The Xiaomi Yi fitment in the Tiny 2 is a bit of an unknown. I have heard it will fit but the whole point of a brushless gimbal is that it is designed to be perfectly balanced.... Feiyu-Tech don't go by that method and just make beefy motors to counter mis-balance but that is why they can be a bit hit/miss. These gimbals are all developed around the Hero cameras so if you want them to work perfectly you will need a Hero camera. Even if the Xiaomi fits, it might make the balance a bit iffy and that could lead to wobbles, noisey motors etc. The other thing is I know the addiction of the hobby... you will want the best eventually and you will spend a fortune on cheap items before ending up then getting the best. So i emplore you... buy good now and save that extra expense in the long term :)
+d3weyTube thanks for that. a tiny 2 it is then. I take your word on it. can you check this then and tell me why it is different than the one in your video. is it an older version or newer. I dont know. anyhow thanks for the help. appreciate it. I will buy the tiny2 under your recommendation. where is the best place to buy from?? and ideas. is there anywhere in the UK so it is local. well I say local but I'm in Belfast. but at least this way it won't be the other side if the world. thanks.
Would you control this through the naza or separatly through the reciever if you had the choice? Is the third party gimbal functonality on the naza better?
+nts The NAZA will restrict you to just tilt on CH5 if I recall correctly. You would be better going directly into the RX if you can and ideally you need 10 channels with NAZA use... 4 for flight 1 IOC 1 gimbal pitch 1 GPS/Atti then that leaves you with 1 x Mode switch, 1 for Roll and 1 for Pan/Yaw.
+d3weyTube Okey, thank you very much for the answer. I have been looking for a gimbal this stable for a reasonable price for months. It seems its finally on the market!! I will be running 16-channel SBUS soon, so i just need to figure out how to wire it separately and map it up correctly on my 9X with the new Smartieparts Extreme-board (when it arrives on market). I am planning on doing the playstation-gimbal mod.
+Guide504 Looks really good but sadly Zhiyun never produced them for public sale for some bizzare unknown reason. See their replies to the first comment on their video here ruclips.net/video/bmLMSqyUjuw/видео.html - seems they were only willing to make it a production model if people made bulk orders... odd. Hopefully though they will realise that any new gimbal will need the slip ring (and encoder technology) and then they will sell well. Can't see them doing it until a new Hero comes out though.
+Guide504 Honest answer to that question is I don't know for sure... but I would agree I think that Zhiyun must be using encoders on the motors to get the image as stable as it is. I am far from an expert on the encoder method but to get the image that stable in flight the IMU must be aware of the motors position at all times.
hey I really want to buy this gimbal and I have recently built a drone and I really want to know if I have to hook this gimbal up to fpv? do I have to have a screen and fpv gear?
+Jimmie Goodman You don't have to hook it up to FPV but if you want to then yes you can. You will need a video transmitter, video receiver and either FPV goggles or screen depending on which you prefer (FPV goggles will likely have the receiver in them). Flying FPV via the gopro on a gimbal takes a bit of practice because the image in the screen will be stable, smooth and slow to react. What the multirotor is doing will not be reflected in that view. Not hard if you have a stable GPS based flight controller but not wise if you are flying manually without much experience.
hi guys, I am a vary disapointed h33d flyer i have it mounted on a phantom and the yaw motor can take the vortex wind coming from props on forward flight attitude. I have messing with it for almost a year I think( not sure) and I have had it. i am looking at this product and can't deside would i be getting same vortax twitch shakes with this gimbal? you all flying a bigger rig, the phantom small arms make the area of witch the gimbal would be mount very scary place to be, does any one have an experience with this gimbal on a phantom and know what I am talking about and referring too that can confirm its a OK good to go gimbal ?
+Gilad Langer Hi Gilad - I have to admit I have flown happily with a Phantom and H3-2D as well as H3-3D without any such issues myself. The gimbal will sometimes glitch out if it is really windy but other than that it is just so locked. The Z1 Tiny 2 is an awesome product but to put it on a Phantom you have to use the extra tall, extra wide legs which makes portability of the Phantom not as good. I only flew it briefly on the Phantom using a customised 3D print mount that I made but it seemed to work fine. Your H3-3D.... are you using a Hero 4 camera on it at all as that can cause twitching and glitching due to the weight difference between H3 and H4. The H3-3D is super sensitive to balance so a mis balance will cause that problem.
+Pieter Kiekens Tecnically yes but you would be much better off getting the Z1 Rider 2 rather than the Tiny 2. You can invert this but then you'd need external batteries and you'd have no way to move the gimbal around whereas the Rider 2 has buttons on a corded remote.
interesting gimbal to say the least, however i have a DJI (FC40) so no railsystem so that's a bummer or i'd upgrade my current G-3D with SJ-4000 camera on it.. oh well :)
+cinexstudios Yeah I just took a look at my Phantom. Creating a retrofit mount will be easy enough but even using the longer legs designed for the Zenmuse H3-3D on the old shape shell won't fit. Maybe if you use the really long legs it could work. I have a set laying around so I might try and create a mount for it too. I have my old P1 shell as well so can make a version for the P1/FC40 shell mount holes maybe.
+cinexstudios Proof of concept Tiny 2 Phantom 1 & 2 Mount all printed and ready to view on my blog bud.... nice and straight forward as I thought so should be able to get this tested, finalised and on Shapeways pretty soon. First pics can be seen here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2490735

+Martin Koch You get a choice of two cables. One takes just vid, the other takes power and video. This cable is also designed for non-gopro cams with a different pin out configuration so you don't accidentally fry them.
Still early days on using this but my immediate reaction to that is...yes. All my many Feiyu-Tech gimbal tests have tended to be 'good, not great'. Usually its been a case of putting the gimbal on, flying via FPV and thinking 'wow i bet that was a great shot', then getting home, looking at in HD and getting that 'uggg' feeling where it is just ok but needs editing. The Zenmuse always had me excited to watch the footage cause i know the actual shots will be as good as i hoped. The Tiny 2 is the first gimbal to give me that wow feeling. I especially like that i can now build an Eagletree Vector based AP platform. The Vector is an awesome bit of kit but i benched it for ages due simply to the fact that any gimbal i use with it was sub-par compared to the NAZA/Zenmuse based platforms. I am still a bit paranoid on the Chinese customer service/language barrier and lack of European/American distributers for warranty claims but to be fair they can't be worse than Feiyu
+d3weyTube Awesome I know what you mean about being able to build a quad with a vector. The naza m lite is junk compared to the vector:). I am sponsored by eagle tree and just got done helping them get there vector working good on mini quads. You should try it out on a mini it is awesome.
+RCflyer729 Yeah I really would like to get back to using it more. I did all the setup videos, skyped with John (nice guy!) about it all and then never really used it with much regular aggression. I noticed the new mini quad setup info on the website only last night and the new LED module (really wish that had a USB port on it!). I think i'll grab a U580 and an E800 setup, stick the Vector, the Tiny2 and a 6s on it and see what can be done.... who needs money anyway hey!
+RCflyer729 45 mins... given the size of the US that practically makes you room mates! A handy chap to know thats for sure. Yeah I really need to get my hands on both so I can do some updated videos and make use of them. Sadly seems RClog.co.uk (UK ET distributer) doesn't have either available yet on the site. Might get in touch with them assuming a kindly John doesn't feel like flying some over for testing! lol
+DJ BASSBITZ Currently no but I am potentially going to look at developing a seperate mounting method for the XuGong.... it deserves a gimbal as good as this. Only problem will be making an anti-vibration method for it without it being 4 feet high off the ground! Good news is the gimbal does work when you turn it on side on but the yaw motor has to be under the camera (meaning panning down will show motor not the ground. It would mean though that you can easily fit it to the front bulkhead with a fairly simple mount so that will be my first port of call. I really really don't want to take my XuGong apart again though so it will rely on me getting a crash kit for it first.... I will do a video and write up on my XuGong blog if i go this route.
+d3weyTube hmm, can we mount it on its side and switch the axis within the software they provided perhaps? Just like what rude boy did with his Xugong for the feiyutech. Another solution would be stretching the 3d printed mount to be much taller to compensate for the ground instead of continuously increasing the height of the landing legs. Doing so you might have to think about adding strengthening shapes just to increase the rigidity of the gimbal mount and the air drag that may cause the Xugong to oscillate due to that new mount . Hmm
+DJ BASSBITZ Yeah as you noticed it will mount side on as long as you don't mind not looking down more than 30 degrees without a motor in the view. You can also mount it upside down as well which is nice. I just purchased a replacement CF frame for the v2 Pro for design related purposes so I am confident I will be able to creat a mount. Raising the height of the mount would be tricky. It could be done but as you mention there will need to be a lot more structural support to prevent wobble (last thing v2 Pro owners need is more wobble!). I fear that in itself would double the volume of material and hence put the price even higher through shapeways and it is already too price for many. I think a simple cheap Tiny2 mount that fits it to the bulk head will be popular but it won't be dampened at all so there is risk of the XuGong jitters coming through hence an overhang option will also be looked at too :-)
+Guide504 If you mean this: www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__86506__Z1_Tiny2_3_Axis_Brushless_Gimbal_for_GoPro.html then i am a bit suspicious... the mounting plate is very different to the one I have. Not convinced it isn't a very old version of it.
On that Hobbyking link, the Tiny 2 is £237. I got mine about 3 weeks ago from Banggood, and it came with that same plate. It's the same plate you see in AndyRC's review of this gimble, which is quite a recent review, so perhaps the plate is a later modification?
+Simon Hopkinson - Don't curse it too soon.... Just finished designing/printing v1 of my Phantom 1/Phantom 2 mount.... all you will need is it and the tall/wide legs and you'll be good to go. Should have it on my Shapeways store by the end of the week subject to a few tests. Details and pics of it will appear on my blog shortly: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2490735
IMPORTANT ALL BUYERS AND USERS AND D3WEY. PLEASE READ. Hi Richard, I am Rose. I remember you about Z1-Tiny2 firmware problem. Yes, since 1.20 and 1.23 version firmwares aren't favorable for users, I had make a special application for our engineers about making a new firmware, so our enginneers make 1.25 version. From the end of last year, our engineers are busy with our new products. For Z1-Tiny2 and other handheld gimbals which made before, they may not pay much attention for the former firmware which made until the new project is finished. Now, i have to say, they may not concern this problem until the April NAB show in USA is finished and our new big gimbal is release and go to the market. I do apologize for trouble. Please use 1.11 version first. If there is any update, i will inform you. Thanks,
+Richard Gilmore Is there somewhere I can get the original firmware? I already upgraded to the newer version and my gimbal has this weird harmonic jitter :(
+Jeremy Stromsoe yes there is Jeremy. here's a link to my Dropbox it should be here. any issues or if you can't download it get in touch. I will send you a copy. I know. the v1.25 is very poor. but Rose at Zhiyun tech assures me that they are seriously looking into this. www.dropbox.com/sh/7tx6br3etr15a17/AADvRr9xROHyvRzfbGvRN7CMa?dl=0
+Jeremy Stromsoe copy the link and paste into your browser. should take you to a copy of the v1.11 original. www.dropbox.com/sh/7tx6br3etr15a17/AADvRr9xROHyvRzfbGvRN7CMa?dl=0 let me kwow if this is working. thanks
+Richard Gilmore Thanks ! Are you using the speed or position firmware file? I get a small harmonic buzz with the speed "s" version, I'm not sure if it is because my Autopilot is putting out 400Hz refresh rate or if it is the firmware causing that issue. I have no way of making it refresh any slower...
Hi Jeremy. No its not your APM. They have this issue on all software other than 1.11. I hope they get it sorted. If I hear about a new software I will let you know. Hut for now go back to 1.11. Its defo not you APM. I use a separate battery and direct to receiver and still this issue. I use the p firmware. The one where I move my slider and stop and the gimbal follows. NOT the one where you have to return the slider to centre to stop the gimbal. And then the other way to centre it. If you get my. Yeah. P. He he sorry at work here and busy.
+surfer30071972 Out of the box sadly not but I will take a good look at a mounting method soon. should be possible to adapt my XuGong Zenmuse bracket somehow :)
+surfer30071972 Tiny 2 Mounted to XuGong v2 Pro has been documented now... all very promising! www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=32587545&postcount=741 - Video is here: ruclips.net/video/iL0wytvUiJc/видео.html
Hey. Great review. I have seen the Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2s with 360 degree around on a RUclips Video from Zhiyuntech. Do you have any information about it or what is your meaning about it. Thanks. cu be.pe
Great review. I have been flying with the Z1 T2 for a few months and I am totally impress by it ability hold axis. Here is one of my videos. ruclips.net/video/vID32dHmUuo/видео.html

+azzurripro Just finished doing a Firmware update video and happy to say 320 is now possible by using the 'speed' 1.11 firmware. 'Position' firmware still only does 180 degrees. Stock 1.10 firmware is 180 degrees only it seems,
Video is still processing as i type but will be here. I demo both modes: ruclips.net/video/E4ihMXeyAcc/видео.html
very nice job!!! Planning to get one to stick on my s550 that luckly has the 2 rail mount for it, so should be perfect!!!
no I mean the 5d3 its tarot's version of the zenmuse z15.
Great review!
Where's the best place to get one in the UK?
I probably will bite the bullet and buy a Tiny 2 but it would be really interesting to see the Tarot GOPRO 3DⅢ reviewed. Any chance of that?
Hi there, what is the distance between rail centres required to fit the mount that comes with this gimbal?. Thanks
Hi d3wey,
I was torn between the Feiyu Tech Mini 3D and this the Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2.
Now the question is, would it be possible to have it track a specific GPS coordinate on the ground?
great job!
does is work with the phantom 1 also, i mean pan and tilt?
What's the distance between the two rail mount carbon tubes?
As far as I can tell it is just a licensed version of the Tiny2 and the firmware seems to be compatible.
g'day mate ,great vid - could you please explain how to get the 4 extra channels again ? - thanks .
+Mick Turner 60 mm between centres.
Hi Dewey,
Thanks for the review. Am i right that you are flying an Alien 560mm in this video? I am planning to purchase one as upgrade from a F450. is the frame any good for aerial video?
Thank you,
Quinten
Well worth looking at I would say.
how can I connect the tiny 2 gimbal to the video downlink
Hi
I just saw ( a video released on the 8th of September) from Zhiyun that the is a new version of this gimbal called the Z1 tiny2s. it gives you 2 full turns (much like the DJI inspire) of pan in the gimbal. have they been contact with you? do you know when that is released?
Regards David
that version is not for retail:(
many thanks MR D
where would you get one from as I want the latest version not the older one they are selling cheap?
+Guide504 Hard one to say because it depends on country and their stock. As long as it is a Tiny 2 and not just the Tiny then you will get a good'n. I have heard newer ones allow full 360 rotation but am yet to get anything back from Zhiyun as to whether that is true or not. Their website suggests nothing has changed since my one.
Amazon is the safest bet in all cases right now as you then get a level of their protection on the purchase instead of 'iffy' chinese support from the likes of aliexpress.
do you have to calibrate it? if you have to, how du you do that?
Xiaomi Yi fits according to the product page
yep ... but the main thing is, if we can get the live feed out which is on the back side of the yi!
Next, the price of the Gimbal just recently grew up to 330$ (approx 294€ currently). As I was writing the note here, it was down at 240€ ... Ok, that won't change the quality of the gimbal, but the acceptance to to just go "buying and trying" has been lowered :)
+Matebox in Motion its 204€ on aliexpress from their official account or something

i have been test flying my tarot 5d3 gimbal today.
got the whole thing under 7kg running the a7r2 and the zeiss batis 25mm initial test looks good in the wind.
what do you think of the new polymer gopro gimbal from tarot?
Hi Mr D
what do you think of the z1 tiny2S?
looks good with a slip ring on the yaw.
Can't see them doing it until a new Hero comes out though.
d3weyTube z x
cool!
this gimbal looks typical of one with encoders there is no way its that stable without surely?
can you confirm this Mr D?
many thanks
Thanks
hi guys, I am a vary disapointed h33d flyer
i have it mounted on a phantom
and the yaw motor can take the vortex wind coming from props on forward flight attitude.
I have messing with it for almost a year I think( not sure)
and I have had it.
i am looking at this product and can't deside would i be getting same vortax twitch shakes with this gimbal?
you all flying a bigger rig, the phantom small arms make the area of witch the gimbal would be mount very scary place to be,
does any one have an experience with this gimbal on a phantom and know what I am talking about and referring too that can confirm its a OK good to go gimbal ?
Is it possible to mount the gimbal uspide down? (To mount it ON TOP of a motorcycle)
+Pieter Kiekens Tecnically yes but you would be much better off getting the Z1 Rider 2 rather than the Tiny 2. You can invert this but then you'd need external batteries and you'd have no way to move the gimbal around whereas the Rider 2 has buttons on a corded remote.
I see. Thank you for a quick reply, it's much appreciated.

net. 1 - 2 Kg ?
interesting gimbal to say the least, however i have a DJI (FC40) so no railsystem so that's a bummer or i'd upgrade my current G-3D with SJ-4000 camera on it..
+d3weyTube basicly what i thought as well, but if you do dig into the P1 shell and this mount, let us (me) know for sure :)

+d3weyTube interesting, saw the images and it looks really good :) thanks for the update! :)
Does the video cable power the gopro, or just send video?
+Martin Koch You get a choice of two cables. One takes just vid, the other takes power and video. This cable is also designed for non-gopro cams with a different pin out configuration so you don't accidentally fry them.
d3weyTube
Thanks for the info Dewey.
So it comes with the cable I need to power my Gopro...I think the battery still has to be in it though, right?
I have a feiyu tech ultra 3axis aircraft gimbal. Should I sell it and buy this?
+d3weyTube Yea the alerter is really nice and the info panel is handy to. John lives like 45min from me so that is how I got started with eagle tree.
Might get in touch with them assuming a kindly John doesn't feel like flying some over for testing! lol
Good review Thx
will this fit your h3-3d xugong mount?
Hmm
+DJ BASSBITZ oops didn't read about the part that it does work sideways , doesn't work the other way eh
I think a simple cheap Tiny2 mount that fits it to the bulk head will be popular but it won't be dampened at all so there is risk of the XuGong jitters coming through hence an overhang option will also be looked at too :-)
+d3weyTube sounds like you'll be doing a lot of designing and testing soon. All the best and looking forward to it!
interesting with Hobby King selling the z1 tiny 2 for £60 i thought the s was just around the corner.
+Guide504 If you mean this: www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__86506__Z1_Tiny2_3_Axis_Brushless_Gimbal_for_GoPro.html then i am a bit suspicious... the mounting plate is very different to the one I have. Not convinced it isn't a very old version of it.
its the same mounting plate on the s prototype shown in 2015
+Guide504
Just wondering. How important is this "old" mounting plate
On that Hobbyking link, the Tiny 2 is £237. I got mine about 3 weeks ago from Banggood, and it came with that same plate. It's the same plate you see in AndyRC's review of this gimble, which is quite a recent review, so perhaps the plate is a later modification?
thanks dude
🙌🙋
Phenomenal footage! Curse my Phantom 1!
Hi Richard,
I am Rose.
+Jeremy Stromsoe copy the link and paste into your browser. should take you to a copy of the v1.11 original.
www.dropbox.com/sh/7tx6br3etr15a17/AADvRr9xROHyvRzfbGvRN7CMa?dl=0
let me kwow if this is working.
Yeah. P. He he sorry at work here and busy.
oh boy cool 😷
for the xu gongv2😁😁😁
+surfer30071972 Out of the box sadly not but I will take a good look at a mounting method soon. should be possible to adapt my XuGong Zenmuse bracket somehow :)
+d3weyTube cool thanks thinking tot buy the xu gong

Hey. Great review.
I have seen the Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2s with 360 degree around on a RUclips Video from Zhiyuntech.
Do you have any information about it or what is your meaning about it.
