Love the Hutch! I'm burning Eucalyptus and Sage from Homeworx and I love it. I just recently started buying Homeworx brand now that they're in Marshalls lol.
My sons called me out about wax. I was giving them crap about wasting money on video games. They are spending money on basically just pictures of things on the screen. My son Jesse countered with "It's for the experience. Just like how you spend more money than us on wax just to light it on fire and smell it." Touché. He got me.
Oh my gosh, I feel like we are probably living the same life lol. I can’t tell you how many times my kid is like mama can I get some V bucks or can I buy this video game and then he beats the game and then I’ve spent $60 for him to beat the game in like two days. it’s all good though as I like to tell him we all have our thing and a video games is his thing I’m not going to judge him. Because he knows that candles and wax is my thing.
Last year I burned half of my Yankee Autumn Leaves and then put it away for this year so I did not have to buy another. If I know I have a back-up, I'll finish off something in the candle crock though to free up space. Thank goodness you taught me about the candle crock!
Haha! Would you like to hear about the astounding number of times I have had birds poop on me while I have been setting up weddings??? 🤣 I should bring it back, huh? It has been so long. Honestly, still not missing the wedding industry lol!
I am so ready to start burning Fall! Its been a stuggle pulling ones for August and not just jump into Fall. I have Mahogany Rose, Confetti Daydream, Stawberry Diaquari, Sea Salt and Balsam from BBW in rotation and Mint Chocolate Chip and Pink Bubble Gum from HW. I prefer to burn mines and be done not unless its a Kringle Halloween candle.
I always put candles back. I pull out what I want each day. If I am not wanting a scent on a day, I rather save it for when I'm really wanting to enjoy it. I won't start fall at all until the first day of school, which is Sept 6th this year. The cabinet looks GORGEOUS! You did a fabulous job! Stella did excellent. You can tell she has grown up with home fragrance. Just like with my kids, they notice and pick up on things in a candle that most kids wouldn't even think about because it's always been part of their lives and the live with us lol.
I literally just put ny last three wummer candles in hurricanes to burn. BBW sugared lemonade, Yankee candle iced berry lemonade, and Kringle Ginger Lily and Palm. August 15th is the date fall will begin in my house. It'll be all apple after that until mid to late September. The china cabinet looks beautiful! I love refinishing furniture as well! Most pieces in ny home are refinished antiques or pieces my husband built and I stained and sealed.
Hi Melanie! Im with you- I can’t put away a candle that I started burning/melting. That piece of furniture is so magnificent!!! I’m so ready for fall but it’s 101 here🥵
This week my mission was to finish Kringle’s Juicy Strawberry. Next week, I need to go hard on Ice Cream Sandwiches and Psychedelic Citrus to get them out of the summer system. I’m okay with putting burned candles away until the following year but only if there’s more than half still left … otherwise they just look too sad. In terms of transition to fall, I have Homeworx Glazed Blueberry Muffin, Deep Dish Apple and Caramel Apple queued up for the second half of August. After that, it’s pumpkin all the way, baby! P.s. Wonderful job on your beautiful dining room cabinet!
OH Karen! You just reminded me of Ice Cream Sandwiches! I never even burned my back ups I bought lol! Do I just save them at this point???? Although, I could see it transitioning me into Fall.
You will not convince me to buy any Halloween candles this year. My Kringle Halloween collection is how you feel about your HomeWorx spring/summer collection. I have soo many and this year will be the year I put a dent in them! 😂😂
I’m in the middle-if a candle is at least 1/2 way still full, I can put it away. But if it’s less than that, nope. I burned a bbw coco paradise this week! I also went through bars of mango shortcake, sandalwood tangerine, and kukui coconut.
I am burning my summer candles from Bath and Body (turquoise waters, sea salt and Sales). I also started burning my Kringle Berry Scone and Bath and Body Berry Crumble. I don’t like to put my used candles away with my unburned candles . Once I burn them, I make it a mission to finish them. If I rotate scents, I put the burned ones in spot that I will rotate and finish that week. Will not put them with my collection. Thanks for sharing!
I have been cutting up watermelon and cantaloupe while watching. I do burn and put up. I burn whatever I am in the mood for all year long. I burn summer in winter. I rarely burn winter in summer. I do love fall candles. Here we will be hot until almost October. We are expecting another week of 100+. Then back down to the 80's. I am enjoying crocking the end of candles. I have put a couple full candles that are very light in them. Works great. Have a wonderful weekend ❌️ ⭕️
Thanks for sharing your weekly home fragrances. This week, rotated final Summer scents: Kringle Gingered Peach, Country Candle Blood Orange & Juicy Peach. Kitchen rotations: BBW Paris Café & Fresh Roasted Coffee. Especially in light of triple digit heat for the past 2 mos. here in Central Cal, looking forward to enjoying all things Autumn.🍂R🍁
Just finished Bath and Body Works Cherry Almond Shortbread. It was decent but more perfumey and a little lighter than I hoped. Right now trying to get through Scentsy summer collection wax.
Hey Melanie, if you lamp, you're called a "lamper" lol. Alf's ASMR is always funny. BBW Coastal Cottage and the backup of YC's Sand & Surf are burning really well. Fingers crossed on no puny wicks. I think I mentioned to you in a comment on another video my Fall and Christmas candles to burn this year to get the collection going faster. This is my last month in burning Summer candles, after Coastal Cottage, I'll do Bergamot Waters, Gingham Unstoppable (I'll be using this in foaming hand soap next), Steve's Scoops, Eleven's Waffles, YC's Elevation Sunlight Sands in a medium jar (RIP to this vessel collection from them), Vanilla Sandalwood, Tropical Oasis (outlet, it's other dupe is Tropical Waterfall), Cotton (outlet), Vineyard, Home Inspiration's Perfect Margarita, and WW's large Sagewood & Seagrass. I'm not jealous of your Farmstand candles, I swear, pshhh so am. Sea Breeze's name reminds me of the acne astringent that I used back in the 90's lol despite it being a drink and the name of a racing horse. Blueberry Cheesecake, hope the outlets will carry it at some point, I'm patiently waiting for them to get Fall/Christmas scents in. Nice roundup. Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes looks like a nice festive gourmand, would love to have it. I bet your home smells amazing. Hope Stella will follow your candle burning footsteps, seems like a great tradition, watch her first candle to burn is Cranberry Chutney, wouldn't be surprised! Fantastic classic scent. Happy burning.
Temps average 110*+ here all summer long. I tend to melt during the summer and start burning Sept 1. It's still 100*, so I start off with apple and pear scents... at least our home can smell like Fall.
I have a couple of spiced fruit scents planned for the month, but I am not allowed to make the full transition to fall until Labor Day. Per my family’s insane “ rules”. I also snuck in a couple of coffee scents which I love year round but my family calls them fall types
@@MrKongsMom I would totally be all fall starting August first if they would let me. 😂 over the years I’ve definitely learned how to sneak in those transitions. We got this!
@@MrKongsMom I thought after I typed that it was more than a year. I need to find mine. I put them away to cure since everyone was saying they were really light.
There is nothing going on in this house. I don’t have wax that I currently want to melt. Things are very slow at my job so I’m not buying anything either. I’m used to the summers being slow because people go on vacations however this is a new kind of slow like people are afraid of the economy kind of slow. I hope things change soon and I can go back to being busy to moderately busy again. It’s the nature of the job though you plan accordingly have savings to dip into, etc.
Oh Kelly I remember those days. When I was doing wedding florals I spent all spring and summer working almost 24/7 but then Fall and Winter were sometimes painfully slow. Learning to save money for a rainy day was something I learned early on in the wedding industry.

I ordered the Skull & Sonnet and Thirst candles because those are so up my alley.
I think you are really going to like those Katie!
Love the Hutch! I'm burning Eucalyptus and Sage from Homeworx and I love it. I just recently started buying Homeworx brand now that they're in Marshalls lol.

Crocking is a real game changer isn't it??? I LOVE my crocks!
Speaking of weddings, I think we’re due for a new Wedding Horror Storytime!! I was especially loving that little mini video series! 😂

Your daughter helping with the Kringle halloween impressions was so cute. I'm the same with candles, once I light it I have to finish it out. 😆
Thank you! She is such a smart young lady! She was so happy to read through all the comments.
Your hutch is stunning! You did a really good job. I love antiques.

I have Leaves and Holly Jolly Christmas going right now. Fall starts August 1st in my house, even if it’s 90 outside. 😊
Did we just become best friends 🤣 August 1st is the best date to start!
