I’ve been training over 20 years and a black belt over 5 years. I cycled through the “Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Basics” from a certified instructor for a couple of years mixed with -but carefully distinguished from sport teachings. In my opinion, because of its street specific applicability, I would rather be a master at this curriculum than all the sportive subset techniques that grew out of it over the decades.I for example refuse to adopt half & deep half guard as a go-to attacking position because it’s pure disastrous for anything but a tournament world.
I feel like I’m learning a lot from these videos. I get excited every time I add a new tiny bit of knowledge to my combatives game. I’m able to do it at home by myself first thing every morning before work or before my workout. I get far more hours in than I could otherwise. I highly recommend these. I have the Gracie University online access to the content, but I think I’ll buy the DVD’s as well just to have the hard copy. Like buying the printed version of an awesome book that you’ve already listened to or read digitally. As always, awesome video. Keep them coming.
Would you suggest G.C. as a first step in to jujitsu? Do you know where I can find just the files? I don't have a DVD player, or even want one at this point since I have a smart TV. Thanks
The first step in Jiu Jitsu is finding a good gym. The instructional videos are a tool to help you along the way, but they are not "the way". If you go to the Gracie University website, it is all on there digitally.

Why not become a certified training center? Have you seen those videos? You basically have to teach it the way they do. If you're already doing that then... might as well do it officially, right?
Gracies are excellent Teachers, Rorion was my first teacher as well, Rener (Rorion son) has to be the best Salesman. The entire Gracie Family is great at marketing however Royce and Rickson were the biggest faces of the marketing campaign from the start.
Love the video reviews man! Theres really nobody on RUclips that reviews BJJ instructionals so you videos are extremely helpful. I'd love to see a review over some of John Danaher's Go further faster series. Also if your looking to get anymore now is the time, bjj fanatics have 50% off all videos. Anyways, keep it up man! 🤙🏼
honestly i learned more from the videos than at the gym. ryron and rener are really good at teaching

Thanks brother!
Did you practice the moves on a dummy or on your own?

The major basics.
I took your advice on grappling dummies, so i could use it with these videos a month ago, and I'm loving it. Thanks
Awesome! Stay on the path, and great things will happen!

How do I get my school to teach this?
Would be willing to sell them at all?
Sorry, no, but you can find them used on Ebay!

Thanks! I have many more instructionals to review, so stay tuned!
Thanks for the review. Gonna get the dvd and get my 9 year old boy and 11year old girl to learn Jujitsu together.
Nice video Daniel. I agree with their series.
Thanks!
