@RETRO Hardware You can try writing on asia computer forum where a hindu no life informatic will write a driver for you. Apart of this I have hd 3870x2 are you interested?
This is pretty awesome, I have a GTX 285 prototype that has all kinds of jumpers and deadbugging on it for the display output (and some kind of programming IC on it i've never seen on another card too.) Some of these are really quite special collectors items, thanks for the video!
Reference coolers from this era were notorious, but you can see there was actually a lot of effort put into the design with a backplate cooling the memory, vrm, and syncing into the blower fan. It seems like they made a rule not to extend past 2 slots or over the io plate. The only difference from a modern cooler would be the heatpipes and finstack would be rotated 90 degrees. That would allow much more surface area for the heatpipes to dissipate into the finstack, so you could go shorter and easily fit some axial fans on top.
But for me the 3DFX 3000 Glide was untouchable.. back in the day! Loved that card ... did it all.. Then the 3500 3DFX with capture from VHS wow .. great stuff worked really well ..

the card without the flames on it has a stunning design a little dated obviously but i really like what they were trying to achieve, fingers crossed you can find a way to make it run, if not a nice piece for the collection.
stunning contruction on that card. Goes to show, probably partly thanks to cryptomining; Radeon has no been nearly as panicked to pull out all the stops in the last 5 years as they were with the 2900 series.
@Jeroen I know right, my first pc gaming experience was when i was just 9 years old, i dont know what my pc had in terms of gpu but i know we had a Pentium 3 800Mhz andnjust 256mb of ram (128 previously), with that i was able to run Outwars and Urban Assault without any problem, but the games from the begining of 2000's was a struggle, then my father bought a Celeron D in 2005, the worst experience i ever had, that thing just had 512mb of ram, no gpu besides the integrated one and sometimes took minutes to open something. Im 29 now, had plenty of fun in gaming houses (knowed as lan house here in Brazil) playing Counter Strike 1.3 and 1.6, Age of Empires 2, Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, Battlefield 2 and some others. The thing is, if i was (or my father was) more into pc components, i probably wouldnt had the terrible experience i had in that Celeron D, now i have a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a RX 5600XT but the magic i somewhat had in those years i dont have anymore.
Considering Direct X isn't working in WinXP 64-bit but Open GL is, I'd suggest trying Win XP 32 bit. Driver weirdness is a a known issue with WinXP 64-bit. The HD-2900 XTX never really came to market so it could be that picky.
Try XTX BIOS A13 Update , while running windows on second graphics card. So when there are problems, you can go back to bios A12 and you don't lose the video signal.
amd legacy drivers eh. i find alot of times if its windows 7 your using get the vista drivers. at least thats what iv run into installing a hd3870 some time ago on windows 7

Think you might be out of luck if flashing this with a retail vbios didn't work from a 2900xt (And then simply overclocking too the supposed speeds yourself.) Opengl working but not direct x is something at least, not like that overclock did much improvements over the 2900xt performance wise anyway heh, a card that met a similar fate too the 2900xtx is apparently the x700 xt bunch of them went out too reviewers but the card simply didn't get too those clock speeds ati tried too brag with & produced a x800 card instead too compete against the well priced 6600 gt
i miss my HD 2900 GT yes gt u had some version that were gt but they are a stripped down version of 2900xt and xtx but less vram and shaders www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-hd-2900-gt.c220
See? Amd can actually make gpu's that dont suck, but they keep dumping these shitty cards with hardly any cooling on to the market... why would they skip on fans if they are cheap as fck? Nice main board by the way, love that board! Put a w3690 on it and overclock it to 4.6ghz
@@comicsanz97 it still has drivers for some very old cards, certainly HD 2000 series. I recently ran a HD4850 with the radeon driver. I'd say drivers are actually where backwards compatibility is very good in linux, applications is a different thing.
Seeing these bad boys made me look over at my shelf and look at my old MSI N9600GT I used all those years ago! It's like hanging on to your first car.

I have 2 GPU.

Sappire - X1050 512MB 64Bits
Does that interest you?
Maybe you can try contacting F2F Tech(through his newer Twitter account), he has an A13 Apple OEM variant with UEFI(!) support for Macs.
@RETRO Hardware You can try writing on asia computer forum where a hindu no life informatic will write a driver for you. Apart of this I have hd 3870x2 are you interested?
@Jeroen Actually there is a program for free available which is called 'snappy driver installer'.
Works great on either winXP or win7.
Back in the early till mid 2000's, there was an alternative unofficial driver for ATi-Cards available, i think it's name was ATi-Omega Driver(s).

Cool video, hard work and much TIME spent, very exotic specimen, many thanks for video! But can it run crysis???
2900 xt can play crysis very smooth.. thats VGA is flagship in 2008

Помню ждал выхода этого R600 радеона. и наконец потом преобрел 2900ХТ на 1Гб. 2007 год был. теперь это ретро тыква.
For it's time and the games it played at 1280x1024 32bit...
The games looked great and flew max settings..
Love from Bangladesh nice video

Unica retro que tenho até hoje é uma nvidia geforce 6600LE
Ja dava pra jogar um cs 1.6 no monitor de tubao kkkk

WIN XP was 32bit
Oh, my mistake. I saw Professional Edition and I thought "64-bit"
What if they make an a modern gpu look like an retro one ?
I believe this is a Mac edition of 2900 XT.
radeon hd 2900 xtx is a refined official version but sold only in america
Most beautyful than rtx 3090

Vy jste z české republiky?
Error chip, rops/tmu are working incorrect. Maybe use firegl bios with low clock...
How Big you wanna make the card
AMD: YES
sure as fuck hope you backed up the original bios because it may be one of a kind if it's a prototype
What about pentium MMX?

try it with linux and mesa drivers see what happens on steam
I was looking for you. Linux was shittier back then, and there's no way that a generic driver would work with such a fine piece of hardware.
@@comicsanz97 why not modern Linux and u never know
@@sasha-fe2bl because Linux doesn't have any sheets about backwards compatibility.

The cooling design is similar with PS5, 🤭🤭
