Reebok weights... You know its never good when they start with "I paid _ for them.....
No Doubt. I was putting them down as soon as I heard that. LOL
LOL! That's true! I paid.....😝🤣
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot the account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Leon Allan Instablaster =)
You're not cheap, you're reasonable! And as a former library employee, I can tell you any donated books either go to a sale or get recycled. He'd be much better off taken unsold books to a veterans' home or assisting living. Always a great time picking with you-- thanks for the ride!
I was at a huge sale yesterday that had gotten a lot of books from the leftover library sale ones. A worker at that sale said that the library puts the unwanted ones into the dumpster. Broke my heart.
Kind of a cheap offer considering the worth but I get it.
@@brendamaun5455 for the library to put donated books into a dumpster is like a slap in the face with a wet towel. They should offer them free on Craigslist but I bet they couldn't be bothered. That's so sad and wasteful.
@@roastbeefsandwich6769 Absolutely. There are at least 5 Little Free Libraries in our town that could help get them into folks' hands as well. I'm sure they'd tell me it was too much trouble. There is also an Freecycle site to be used. It is just heartbreaking.
He was trying to get them at 90 percent return. No matter how you look at it that's pretty damn cheap
He’s so polite! Calls everyone sir 🥺 I wish people were like that up here
You're a doggone hoot working those yard sales and estate sales. I like the mumbled self talk...I don't need an ash tray.😝😁🤣
I ended up with a set of the leatherette LL books from a storage unit. They were in pretty good shape. My brother is a fan and has all the books in paperback. I ask him if he wanted them and he jumped at the chance. Didn't charge him since he has helped me a lot with repairs and updates around my house.
Donate to the library? Huh... so let's not take 100 bucks? What? The library will sell them or toss em.
Correct the library will sell them for $1 or less a piece.
@@carolc.1334 And in my town the rest go into the dumpster. So sad.
The thinking of people like this guy still baffles me; unless he's going to write off the paid value of the books it makes 0 sense to not take the 100.
Yeah that was kinda weird lol. "No I won't take $100, I'll donate to library and get $0" Doesn't really make sense.
I worked in a library. We loved donations but they do not go on shelves. They go to the bi annual sale to raise money.
@@hellobethel7464 so what's wrong with him wanting the money to go to the library If he can't get what he wants
No entiendo bien el inglés pero le estoy echando ganas para aprender de usted es usted una persona que me motiva a seguir sus pasos saludos desde Raymondville tx pero nacido en Matamoros Tamaulipas saludos
I personally thought it was a bit cheap but totally understand you still need to resell and make a profit so as the end of the day if they want to sell it, it's a easy 100$ for them
You have way more patience than I do! Once they start talking about what they sell for online, I want to go to the next sale. Fast.
Still money to be made
Hi! I am a reseller on eBay & proud of it! Love your channel , you & family !! Live2Thrift Terry❤️❤️
I had one yesterday tell me "they sell on ebay for $100-125. I replied..that's probably where you should sell them then
Perfect response.
I had somebody try to rip me off over Facebook marketplace for a lot of toys. Value was maybe $75 of what was there when I got there, which was a fifth of what was shown in the photos. He advertised a huge lot for $65. I offered 20 for what was left. He's like, I could sell each one of these for $5 each. So I told him to do that. And left. :)
Blue Boy and Pinkie. Brought a few tears to my eyes - how well I remember them in my grandmother's house.
Tough negotiations, but nice deal, especially considering the extras. I think you’ll come out way ahead when you sell the Louis L'Amour books. I sold a much smaller set (I’m thinking it was 25 books) back several months ago for about what you paid for those. Thanks for letting us tag along 🙂
Thank you Gary
That clear container you passed over when u picked up the helicopter is a “snail.” They are a pressure preserver type thing. They sell pretty well.
It goes to a Food Saver vacuum system - they are discontinued so yes they sell well
I sold some of those leatherette about 15 years ago! I always pick up Louis Lamour books when I find them, even the paperbacks.
I just picked up 116 Louis L'Amour last weekend at a yard sale for $50.00. When I picked them up I did not realize what a deal I got until I got home. Got them listed for a $1100.
Aweseome. Look Like we are competing. Good luck
Minute 12 Builder 3 and 2 book. Those were old US Navy training manuals, specifically for the Seabee Builder rate, to promote to Petty Officer 3rd and 2nd Class paygrades (E-4 and E-5).
Minute 27 the US Navy BB-55 cap. Interesting find, since that battleship was finished just in time for WW II, with her 16 inch guns. If you ever have a chance to see such a ship fire off all those main guns at once, it’s really something. The ship actually moves sideways when they fire a 9 barrel broadside. I’ve see it from just astern, when they brought back the Iowa class ships and re-fitted them for their Middle East duty.
excellent. Thanks for the history.
@@CommonwealthPicker In practical terms a 16” Battleship naval gun can send a 2700 pound projectile, about the weight of your SUV, inland over 20 miles. Each turret has 3 barrels and battleships usually have 3 turrets. So a full broadside is like shot putting 9 cars at once. Long before cruise missiles an 80 to 100 year old Battleship could still really reach out and touch someone.
Naval history is an interesting subset of general history and the history of Naval Battleships is one of the more interesting chapters. The general design hadn't changed all that much from the late 1800s, up until the last group (the 4 Iowa class) were built. Like modern cars or planes, the designers kept trying to load them with bigger guns, more armor plate, all the bells and whistles and still make them go faster, but that was always the challenge. More weight, meant less speed.
Even before the last 2 of the 6 of the class was built, the world had changed and the last 2 were barely started, when they were scrapped. The aircraft carrier had become the big shark in the pond, and many felt it made the battleship obsolete because the planes from a carrier could power project further then the 23 mile distance a shell could be sent inland from a battleship.
It's odd to think that the size of a ship's guns are often limited by mutual treaty agreement and by the time the Iowa class was built, they were only supposed to only receive 14" guns, by the treaty agreement, but ended up with the 16" size we've seen them outfitted with. Some of the older battleships, all of which were gone by the 1950s and 60s even had 18" guns.
The other constraint many aren't aware of is that Battleships had to be kept "of a size" that could navigate the 2 key canal choke-points in the world, the Suez and Panama Canals. If they were built too large, allowing for larger guns, they couldn't take the "short cuts" to the world hot spots.
I saw 3 of the 4 (Mosuouri, Iowa, New Jersey) in my time in the Navy, when they were brought back to help make up a 600 ship fleet and used for the Gulf War. It turns out they weren't so obsolete afterall, especially when Cruise Missiles were added to their armament. Now their museums, at least until they might be needed again.
Enjoyed the video, especially since it triggered some memories. You don't just sell memories, you remind us of them.
A compact car weighs more than 2700 pounds, an SUV is like 5000 pounds tho lol
@@joeambly6807 True, but most folks don't realize just how big a one of those shells is, but they can relate to each one being the wight of a compact car, like a Honda Civic or VW bug!. LOL
What an awsome bargain on the Louis L'Amour Books!!! I loved his writings!👍👏👏👏
I love books so it's great to see some that have real value. Sadly, the eBay market is so dominated (here in the UK) by a couple of 'mega-sellers' that most books wouldn't even cover the cost of shipping.
It pains me to see books going into recycling but I can't even donate them as my local charity shops (ie thrift stores) have said they won't accept any more since they can't shift them, even at their long-running 'special' rate of 5 for £1. The managers tell me most books end up going for pulping so it's not worth the time and space to process them for a couple of pounds per ton.
I keep hearing about the booth. Do you have any videos of that? Or is it something you have an employee run? Or is it like Froggy Flips where its an antique store where you just have a set up? It would be interesting to see in my opinion. A day in the life of the booth.
You are cheap but that's what makes you unique and fun to watch 👍🏻
The intimidator hat is pretty good. I sold one just like that for $25. And I’ll be on the look out for those books from now on.
Ahhh the good ole radios with the broken antenna I had one too back when I was a kid only I still used it and would roll up a long piece of aluminum foil and attached it to the broken antenna ...worked like a charm lol good memories right there 😆
I am learning a lot watching your videos! Thanks!
Youll get a 1000 easy. Im sitting on the largest collection of Louis L'Amour books known. And if I didn't already have the time life set, I would be highly interested. But you will get them. And yes those who have them, would collect them and read the paperback as to not crease the binding. Creased binding lowers the value. Good kuck
I don't blame the guy for wanted 300 I think it was because they where his Mama's. Nice guy.
Nice deal on the books!
For the large lot of books, how will you package and ship them? I imagine they have to weigh a ton with all of them combined. I've hesitated to buy large lots of books because of being uncertain of that (and having the space to store them for an elongated time).
Multiple boxes media mail.
I have a question about the books. How will you ship them if you sell them all together? I am trying to figure out to ship large lots the best way.
Thanks for any feedback!
Mulitiple boxes. Media Mail
So Friday an Saturday i went to 3 different city wide sales. An i got 2 ziploc bags half full of sterling silver jewelry an 5 pieces of 14 karat gold. An 4 pieces of Haeger pottery at a buck a piece. I am keeping them. Aldo got gifts for my granddaughter that will be turning 2. My best thing is a got a huge teddy bear that looks like a honey bear fir my granddaughter. Thanks for all the tips an tricks. I have even started talking to myself while out picking. 😂😂😂 oh all the sterling i paid around 35 for it all.
Wow. That is a huge haul. Congrats.
That estate sale was good, lots of great stuff!!!
Enjoyed watching you got a thumbs up for the cat in the box so sweet
You called his bluff he didn’t really want to donate them 😂
The reality is that he needed his wife to be gone
I saw a white goose cookie jar on the kitchen counter. I sold one just like it for $45 new. Maybe $35 used in good condition.
Thanks. Good to know.
You killed it! That home had a beautiful front door.
Do you have videos of your antique booth?
Great finds. Thanks for taking us along. YFS
Well looks like another awesome yard sale or Garage sale looks like you know how to pick some great items and getting them really At a great price
They are not gonna get that for those books at the sales. They’d have to sale them on EBay or Craig’s list. You should’ve picked up that Tweety sign in the first garage. Tweety is becoming super hard to find especially the plus size clothes believe me I know. He’s been my favorite for years. If you ever find anything let me know. Wow! I’m surprised they worked with you! See I told you they wouldn’t sell them for $300. Lol! Great score!!
Yes! I was bummed you missed out on the books at first, then things happened for a reason! I’ll say $900 as my guess. Nice flip
Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy to my awesome great picker out there you know how to find the bargains
I sell lots and lots of books, but I don’t pretend to know everything. You got a good fair price at less than $2 each. I’ve have my doubts about getting $1000 in one lot, but I may eat my words. My strategy would be to sell them at $8 each, $4 shipping. I’m looking forward to seeing how they do for you.
Thanks Tim. I have 10 watcher so we will see
At the 1st one did u buy the paper weight it looked like u left it behind?
I did. Forgot it but then went back to get it.
Great deal one the books and the freebies. Go Kevin
Ashtray pick up in the first 5 minutes, you never disappoint Kevin
My mom had 99 of those books. I sold them at her estate sale for $250.
"Storage for boxes right there". That is exactly what I was thinking
My daughter has that cow outfit. It’s so funny she wears it everywhere
My daughter too! Her Chinese Zodiac is “ox” so she’s obsessed with cows 🐄
i was drooling over those Louis L'Amour books!!!! I had the complete set and had to sell them...broke my heart...
A man's heaven there 😆 Lol
Tools dirt ladders and car parts...

I've noticed when I bring my bag I don't need it and when I don't I do. So I think it's good luck to have a bag in the car but not brought in lol lol
right? No doubt
Didn't you get that box with the glass pig Paperweight?
yes. I had to go back to get it.
In the middle of watching, at 17:39 when you got the Care Bears there was a rubber toy cat, you touched it a couple times, you left good $ behind. I'm sure your kiddos will do great on the bears though!
Yup sure looks like I did.
Excellent picked on the books Kev ❤🤙
Thanks so much!
Did you sell the books? 🥰
yes
You are by far the most enjoyable to watch. Did you buy that glass pig? I thought it was a fun item.
I was wondering if he left it behind.
I did. I had to go back and grab it after I turned the camera off

i really hope you get the books sold man, good eyes on those. I like to flip cassettes for 5$. just found your channel dude good luck out there
they sold a long time ago brother. Thanks an dI love cassettes too.
That is a cool crystal ash tray.
I’d probably have given $200 or so for the set of nice books. It seems like a good profit but I also haven’t been doing this nearly as long as you and haven’t sold that amount of books so if you say it ain’t worth the hassle it makes me wonder why and I think I’ll trust you in that.
Awesome video!
Kevin, that green ashtray was quite possibly the most hideous piece of pottery I have ever seen (and I've been dealing in this stuff since the early 90's). Too bad it had a chip, It woulda gone for 50 bucks on Ebay.
Ha. I loved it.

Cowboys fan!! Should have bought them all
People forget “ it’s a Garage sale” their purpose is to sell and get rid of their stuff. At a garage sale ( I have had a few) it doesn’t matter what they bought it for or what they are selling for on eBay. People go to garage sales to get a deal, not pay selling price. $100 for the Louis L’ Amour was not “being cheap”. that was more than what I would offer. 50 cents to $1.00 a piece is the usual garage sale price for books and a bundle like that should be better. Nobody will pay his asking price. I love Louis L’Amour and I would laugh inside at his asking price. If they have sentimental feelings for what they are selling, then maybe they shouldn’t sell it.
