I'm sorry, she is awesome, but there is just a tad of smooth richness lacking . ,but to take nothing away from this singer, she does a 99% job of being the best KC voice that I have ever heard 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They most certainly did do justice to this song. I looked them up a little bit, too. Don't you think the singer, Ksenia Buzina, sounded remarkably like Karen Carpenter? I had to pay close attention to make sure she wasn't lip-synching! (Of course she was not!!) I was never the kind of ardent fan of Richard and Karen that some people are, but I always enjoyed them and recognized that Karen had an amazing, one-of-a-kind voice. It really was a tragedy that it was impossible for her to get her anorexia under control. (If I'm not mistaken, a need for "control" is one of the issues that contributes to that disorder... Maybe I should say "impossible to be healed from it.") I really enjoyed your digression into personal memories and associations. A few years ago I realized that I am two degrees from a lot of movie stars due to my friendship with a casting associate here in my city. Since you know me, you are only three degrees from...yes - Kevin Bacon! 😂(My friend assisted in casting the movie "He Said, She Said," which was filmed here, and he had a great deal of contact with the actors.) By the way, Leonid and Friends will be playing live on stage near here in May - at Ram's Head in Annapolis, MD. (Close enough to this area that both of my sons were born in Annapolis.) So, the band is touring. 🙂
You so need to react to another young Woman from Russia named Diana Aukudinova and her version of "Wicked Game". She was 15 at the time and already so talented. She is so unique!!!
Great voice. I have been a fan for some time (see her cover of satisfaction), but with one caveat. She does not have quite the bottom range or timbre that Karen Carpenter did.
