I'm 50 this year and been watching tennis for about 35yrs. This kid is the first player probably since Nadal who has really made me sit up and take notice in terms of genuine potential to be an all time great.

Federer didn't the same for you? For me was Fed before Nadal. Both gave me the same feeling when they started. I like your comment i just want to share points of view.

@@randomhunter8593 Yes I guess Federer also. I am actually a huge Fed fan and not a Nadal fan. Its just that a match I remember seeing Nadal play when he was 14 has really stuck in the memory. I remember thinking I had never seen such aggressive hitting. Ripping every single ball so hard with so much top spin. It was a brand of tennis I had never seen before.

I'm 54, I had the fortune to admire McEnroe, Lendl, Becker, Edberg. I was impressed by Sampras and Agassi. I'm a huge fan of Roger and I admire Rafa. But Carlos Alcaraz has a serious possibility to realize in the next years the Grand Slam in my opinion. If he finds (as Nadal did in the past) the best way to play also on grass... no one can stop him. Too strong, too powerful, a great talent.

I never thought that the next phase of the game's evolution was to come in the body type of Carlos Alcaraz. Just uncanny what he is able to do at just 18 & 19yrs of age. I've been a Rafa desicple since first starting seeing him play tour level matches at 15!!! He got his 1st ranking points when he had to fill in for an injured player and won! Something so purely authentic about Carlos, he's the first player I've seen willingly concede points to his opponent if he thinks Ump made bad call and opponents respect the heck out of him. With Rafa retiring soon I sad b/c I really hate the antics of Tsistpas, Zverev almost crushing chair umps legs and choking gf's? Djoker's friends with celebrated war criminals in Serbia for the Massacre of Srebenica, etc. (I look forward to guys like Sinner, Paul, Tiafoe, Ruud and Hurkacz too)

What a phenomenal match and a treat to all tennis fans. Both players played at a high level. Both displayed grit and resilience. Both made all-time great and mesmerizing points. Both stole sets that they should have lost. Both played an all-time great match. Once again we can see the difference between Alcaraz and Nadal at the same age. Nadal was much more raw and relied on his infinite stamina, grit, lightning quick speed, athletcism and overwhelming players with his strength. The combination of playing lefty with extreme topspin gave him an advantage against the tour and he exploited it. In contrast, Alcaraz is the complete package and is a much better and all-round player. 18- 19 year-old Nadal= muscles, speed and stamina. 18 to 19 year-old Alcaraz= a real tennis player.

And Djokovic has a year or so to win more GS and match or beat Nadal, because I think that in two years, Alcaraz is going to reach 100% of his capabilities (right now he should be at 50%-60% maximum) It will be very, very difficult to win, almost unbeatable for Novak, since Alcaraz's tennis is the one that can do the most damage to Djokovic.

Carlos is & will be Tsitsipas"s 'black -beast' for the remaining of his carreer..he'll get 'crumbs' at the most..sometimes it has been close to humiliation..

Imo..Nadal should not make the 'one too many season'...we don't want to see him humiliated like this..
