    Winter Schedule
Our schedule may vary, but expect a new video every Wednesday and Saturday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a RUclips channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin.
Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like.
These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

Another day in the life for Ryan, Travis, and Rocket, the soggy doggy. Tending to cattle isn't glorious or glamorous, but it's a way of life that you're not about to give up. I guess it'll be a while before you can get in and clean up the barnyards and steer lot. Will you ever store corn in the bin near the Klein farm barnyard again?

Make a spot in the fence that the top one or 2 boards will fold back or if the way leaving one on the bottom to help deter cattle. You can even build it up stronger out of metal stock fi withstand the abuse of use. Then just back in and drop over without going into the lot itself. Just a thought. Hope it helps. Bear of luck

On the bright side Ryan, you didn't have to spend a day getting out of the cattle yard, hauling the bales in and pulling the grinder in also ,getting the grinder out is usually the worst part. I don't miss them days, as sometimes we had to make a new gate entrance and exit. And after fighting the mud for years we ended up pouring cement 150 feet long and then built the mounds off of the cement. I suppose it didn't help to get snow and now rain, as we have been getting just rain here in Nw Iowa as it is raining/ drizzly weather out there. Love your videos.

What we've been dealing with were conditions just like that during calving the past 2 years... nothing is able to dry out or warm up fast enough and it drags out till May.
