- Eberechi Eze: Crystal Palace and QPR agree deal. Crystal Palace have agreed a deal with QPR for forward Eberechi Eze for a fee that could rise to £20m.

As a Palace fan this transfer has given me a great respect for QPR fans, seeing all of you wishing him well - some fans will start: comparing the player to Judas, burning shirts with their names on the back etc - so for that I am very respectful and I wish you and QPR all the best, hope to see you back where you belong in the prem soon 🙂

As a Palace fan, it’s been so great seeing QPR fans’ reaction to the whole thing. You’re a really class fan base. Hope you guys come up soon.
Loaning him to my club (wycombe) was the best thing that could ever happen to him. It gave him minutes and experience in the league in a first team. His first goal and second goal in quick succession saw how incredible his talent was. Honestly watch his goals vs cambridge. Gareth Ainsworth an ex qpr man gave him that license to show off. And we knew it wouldn't be long until he was going to be fundamental to the Qpr first team. And also it was a matter of time before he would get to the premier league, he will be amazing. He has quality, flair, and talent.
Absolute pleasure to watch this guy live, also best I’ve seen since Taarabt, personally I also like him in the number 8 role coming from slightly deeper as I thing he’s so dangerous traveling from our own half no one can seem to stop him, top bloke aswell, wish him all the best a palace!

On behalf of all palace fans, we appreciate the grace and respect from your lot regarding his move. None of this 'it's only crystal palace' or calling him a snake cause he's leaving, it's all wishing him well.
This isn't really correct Hodgson mostly played a 433 last season. Benteke was the central striker (but we only have one) and Ayew played to the right of him and Zaha on the left. Townsend spent a lot of the season on the bench. Benteke is massively off form and the midfield does utterly lack creativity. Hence lack of goal chances created. The only team we play 451 against is City. Palaces strikers are starved of the ball because the midfield does not support the front three very well. Leading to Benteke losing all confidence. Lack of goals caused by no creativity from midfield and a striker with no confidence and no replacement at the club. Only other striker Tosun got injured and sent back. While other two strikers at the club were sent out on loan, for some odd reason.
What you want to do is look at the 2017/18 tactics with RLC and Cabaye in the side. That was a nominal 442 with RLC out wide. Except it was really a 433 with the ball (RLC coming centralish and acting as the 10) and a narrow 442/4411 without it that was the last time midfield supported the attack.
Also Palaces possession stats look low because they they tend to dribble the ball rather than pass it. Possession stats don't take account for time the ball is held while dribbling. Opta do it based on passes. Zaha is always very high in the dribbling stats.

I’ve loved watching him over the past couple of seasons, he plays like he’s trying to have fun and that’s what football should be about. Hopefully Palace will give him the freedom to do the same in the Prem
Feels similar as a Hull fan to when we sold Bowen to West Ham. Its gutting to see your best player leave but the financial gain will seriously help your club :)

Oddity yeah but got our owners to blame for that selling our best player in the middle of the season, we benefited financially so if QPR can invest (which is what hull failed to do) then they will be just fine

Went on a holiday to London and got to watch QPR a second time against Boro this season. Can hand on heart say he's the best player I've ever seen live, pure poetry in motion, wish him all the best for the future. Cant wait to see my R's again when corona passes

I hate to say though I don't think Roy will use him as a #10 cause he's never liked using #10's the whole time he's been here and we've defo not been a possession team hahahaha. I think he'll be more used in a front three alongside Zaha & Ayew. But he's clearly planned by the board to be used after Roy, so hopefully whoever his replacement is will be able to use him more like that

Great video James, I do feel as if Palace is the right place to go for him, if they give him the freedom and like you said do not play him on the wing, then they are getting a player that is just a joy to watch. Palace fans will go to games (eventually all of us hopefully sometime!) and say to each other “what’s he gonna do this week”. As a club that is often shrouded in negativity both within the fan base and outside of it, Eze has been one of the bright sparks that’s just got me excited about football again and he has become the poster child of what I see is a big change at our club getting back it’s identity for what we did back in the day. My dad who has been a QPR boy for 61 years said you were spot on aswell. He leaves us hopefully holding us in very high regard and with us backing him. Now let’s see what the other youngsters can do..

Can’t lie two years ago I couldn’t be asked to watch QPR after having a season ticket before and I lost the spark of watching us play. Since Eze started playing under Warburton my whole view on the club changed and last season I took any opportunity to watch us. So grateful for what he’s done for me and the club

Always room for flair players at Palace, Roy isn't Big Sam. Do you think Wilf has been "stifled" since Roy took over? Eze is the insurance policy for a future Wilf departure. If Wilf does a LeTissier and stays, then Eze will have to earn his game time. Roy will reward performance and doesn't play "favourites" so if Eze shows how good he is, he'll play. Lots of competition for attacking places at Palace now, which should spur them all on! Good to see another London club developing local talent, good luck for the season QPR.

As a palace fan the only worry I have with this is roy, he’s not known to like good attacking players outside wilf Zaha, I’m scared he will ruin him but I hope I’m wrong I know us fans will treat him well I just pray roy does as well.
As I Palace fan I think it is time for Roy to call it a day because he had a great first twi seasons but this season has been way below expectations - I appreciate all he’s done but his style of coaching just doesn’t work in the modern day, as well as this he’s wasting Meyer and Townsend by having them warm the bench...

Interested to see if he plays as a number 10 for Palace. Feel like the classic number 10 has fallen away from most premier league sides of late, and these players are having to fit into deeper midfield roles or play wide.

Pretty good analysis of the player and his prospects for the future, but I am not happy to see him go. It makes sense from the point of view of the club's current strategy but no QPR fan can be pleased that we are no longer going to see him in the blue and white hoops. Would we have been happy to see Stan Bowles leave after one good season with us? I don't think so.

Have to disagree regarding his lack of pace. Not saying he is rapid in the same sense as a BOS or a Smyth but the way he moves and glides is deceptive and faster than we think watching him

Why is he joining palace?
Presumably to prove himself at a higher level, thereby progressing as a footballer. He`s signed a 5 year contract with us, but from what Iv`e seen so far I don`t expect to see him still at Selhurst in 5 years time.
I just hope that when he moves on from us, to progress even further, our fans show similar class to QPR fans in being grateful to have had him with us and wish him sucess in his next career chapter.
