Well fleetway is only canon to the british comic series- they might because they seem to take alot of ideas and feedback from fans but i doubt it considering it isn’t really relevant to sega’s version of sonic (that I know of)
Possibly with Knuckles saying “I’m sorry, he is no longer the Sonic you once knew” when Sonic absorbed chaos energy (like the comics) and transformed into his Super form.
